The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with customers frequently praising the quality of digital content and a broad selection of titles. However, a significant number of reviews highlight ongoing frustrations with customer service, particularly regarding unresponsive support, login issues, and unresolved technical problems. Many users express dissatisfaction with the handling of account management and refunds, leading to a growing sentiment of distrust. The overall trend indicates that while the product offering is appreciated, the lack of effective customer support severely undermines customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Vudu streaming fakes customer with free streaming & then when you access there is a rental charge.
Misleading... you get to see the trailor for free... really. DELETE.
Cant watch any of the movies or tv programs that we purchased without VUDU losing the connection and shutting down. However no other service has this problem except Fandango or yeah they are the same now! Service has been terrible from day 1.
Bye the way, my internet speed is 50 mbps download and 10 mbps upload, so there should not be any issues... but there are. Only thing that surprises me is there hasn't been a class action lawsuit, yet.
Your customer support is terrible! I have spent over $1,400 on digital movies with VUDU alone and I have a ticket that's been open for months and all I get is rude supervisors who don't understand the concept of databases or customer service!
Four days ago, I clicked on the links to transfer my purchased movies from FandangoNow to Vudu. My purchased movies are now gone. The Fandango site is closed and the Vudu site does not show the movies. After waiting an hour on hold two days ago, a Vudu customer service rep (who sounded like he was speaking from a submerged submarine) told me that Vudu had to separate my FandangoNow rentals from my FandangoNow purchases before they could transfer my movies. What? Isn't that something that computers do automatically? He couldn't tell me how long this separation process would take, even tho' in my case they had only 12 titles to look for. I guess they're doing the separation by hand. Tried calling again last night and spent 1.5 hours on hold, no answer. Finally called Fandango, instead, owner of Vudu, and they said all they could do was to transfer me back to the non-responsive Vudu, without giving me any clue as to why I was being stonewalled by their own subsidiary.
I said I wanted to complain to their management -- and they said fine, but it would take management at least five days to get back to me. Five days. Fandango apparently owns Vudu, but accepts no responsibility for their shabby customer service. Vudu has a "chat" interface on their site, but no one seems to answer it.
I've been renting FandangoNow movies for two years and have had no problems. They even answered their phones in a timely manner when I had a playback question. And I've enjoyed the fact that I had two days to watch the films on FandangoNow, since I'm often too busy to watch a movie in one go. But Vudu gives you only 24 hours to watch, so it's hard to see how this merger is the godsend for consumers that FandangoNow claims it is. Hope that they'll pleasantly surprise me by pulling out of this sudden nose dive in user-friendliness, give me back my movies, and start hiring enough employees to respond to phone calls and chat lines in something approaching a timely manner. Until then, they could at least warn us of the delays that we keep encountering, rather than allowing us to get in an online or phone queue that no one is even going to bother to answer.
Disk to Digital is great but when VUDU srews up they won't resolve the problem. I did a D to D for "The Illusionist" (Ed Norton, Jessica Biehl). What Vudu put into my library was "The Illusionist", a cartoon video. A mistake that is understandable when people that link moves by titles have no clue about the majority of the movies or their content. I called, emailed, sent all of the pictures they asked for of the UPC, artwork, disks - everything. But while the total damage was only $2 they refused to put the correct movie in my library. If I tried to redo it, Disk to Digital would tell me I already had the movie - NO I DON'T. VUDU has never resolved the problem in over 5 weeks.
Haven't been able to get in my account in over 6 months. Now that they have fandango, I can't move my account and lost all my movies :) thanks
Takes an abnormally long time to load. I try signing in and nothing happens when I click the button.
Recently tested Logan and Terminator 3 between all my streaming services. Started with Logan because I had heard someone say Apple's streaming was better. The Itunes version was much crispier, brighter and colorful than the Vudu version. I played the opening scene on Vudu, played it again on Itunes, and then back. It was not my imagination.
I tested Terminator 3. I played the opening nuke explosion on my PC on Itunes. I noticed that the explosion sound was very defined and crisp compared to what I'd heard streaming Vudu for years. It was what I remembered from the theater and playing the DVD fifteen years ago. When I went to my TV and played it on Vudu, the sound was incredibly flat and lifeless. I thought that maybe it was my headphones that created the rumbling sound effect. Nope, when I turned on Itunes and Movies Anywhere, the nuke rumbled again.
Very disappointed. Have a large library on this site, some that isn't Movies Anywhere. I'll just have to buy the movies that aren't on the other services again when they're cheap. That's a shame.
I have had an account for years with Vudu and it has worked very well 100% of the time. I have read some of the negative reviews and see they are blaming their crappy internet service on Vudu. And the fact they have used all of their capped download/streaming limit or crappy bandwidth on Vudu. I would like to suggest they do more research on their ISP and maybe upgrade or change service provider. Vudu provides the best catalog selections and the best quality audio/video there is. Netflix offers a lot but most is crap. We canceled Netflix because they keep raising their prices and it's not worth it. I don't know anything about Vudu customer service as I have never needed it. I love Vudu. I own over 250 movies on Vudu and have never had a problem playing any of them. Also, If any of your movies have the "Movies Anywhere" symbol, You can connect and watch them on other services like Amazon Prime/Apple TV/and other streaming services that are associated with "Movies Anywhere". "Movies Anywhere" Streams movies and is free to sign up on as well.
We purchased a few TV series over time and suddenly we were unable to stream any of the episodes from what we were watching. The trouble shooting involved internet and TV reconfiguration. I explained that we have no errors streaming with other apps, and that we were able to stream movies in VUDU at the same quality as the TV series but unable to stream TV series. The error seems to be with VUDU and they had no method of trouble shooting the error on their end. I requested a refund and was refunded for only one of the TV series we purchased.
I use NordVPN for security. When a VPN is connected and I try to login to Vudu the Captcha human verifier will run continuous without end. With a VPN connected using Vudu is not possible on a PC. Definitely a failure by the company or more likely a disregard for consumers who choose to use a VPN.
I have made a lot of movie purchases thru Vudu and I've generally been happy. My wife and I recently attempted to rent and watch a movie and that didn't go well. It was a 48 hour rental but the movie disappeared from our library after only 24 hours. I emailed customer service and explained EXACTLY what happened. It took them 10 days to get back to me. The explanation from Michelle said they couldn't refund "accidental purchases"? Where did that come from? They can keep my $4 and I'll be renting movies somewhere else.
Deceptive practices and poor customer service. I have 3 separate issues. First, I was forced to make a purchase or lose expiring credits so I bought 3 movies. I have never watched any of the three and asked Vudu for them to be deleted, but also be provided with an equal credit so that I could buy movies I actually want. This has been done for other customers but I was told no. Second, I was using Vudu's disc-to-digital service and accidentally select SD instead of HD on a movie. Vudu allowed me to delete that movie and receive a credit, but Vudu did not adjust my allotment of D2D titles for the year. When I followed up with customer service, they refused to adjust the allotment, even though I was originally told it would be automatically adjusted. Lastly, I asked for my complaint to be escalated and have heard nothing in 4 days. It's reasons like this people are leaving Vudu for Apple/iTunes and other competitors.
I can stream hd and uhd on amazon, netflix, hbo now, showtime, youtube. But i can't make it 15 min sometimes into my movies before it gives me a network error. I transferred 50 movies to digital from disc and i can't watch any of them because vudu streaming is messed up. They are the only service that i have trouble with. I do not recommend this service for anyone. Internet speed doesn't matter. I have 30 mb download and it still doesn't work. Broken. Don't waste your money.
Customer service is a joke. They don't own their problem. They blame your internet connectivity. I have about 6 or more movies purchased from Vudu that are unplayable. Thanks Vudu. Taking our family's money elsewhere.
All the movies i purchased over 2 year period they just disappeared except the last movie i watched. I looked at MANY reviews of the same thing happening! So you spend alot of money for movies you buy and they take them away! Turn them into your state Attorney General! SCAMMERS! DONT BUY FROM THEM
"Just a note that VUDU is doing away with any option to manage your payment method, and will require a credit card to watch their free movies and tv. After you put a credit card in you can never remove it nor change it." they really never had a payment method they wanted a credit card and you could never delete it, change it etc. so I used walmart pay were I could manage my payment method. They are doing away with that and when I asked if they were planning on fixing the site they said NO
I rented the movie in the afternoon. I watched about half then and continued to watch after dinner. I fell asleep shortly afterward. Next day when I returned from work I tried to watch the second half but was told I would have to pay to see the other half. I will never rent from Hulu again.
Don't waste your money! They promise bonuses and rebates for pre-orders and they NEVER make good on them. You contact customer service and they are absolutely no help. RIPOFF ARTISTS! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!
I thought it was an awesome idea to be able to create a digital movie library you could view just about everywhere. However I have been dealing with VUDU for several years now and I have 51 movies or more that have been removed from my library. I have spoken with several reps, I have talked with a supervisor, I have even written the corporate office and sent the letter certified to insure it was received. I have not heard back from VUDU. I have verified through movies anywhere that the movies were pulled on VUDU'S side. When I spoke to a socalled manager he advised that the issue seems to stem from an issue with ultraviolet which some other customers have experienced the same issue, but since they never had an actual license with them it was nothing they were willing to do. UNBELIEVABLE! If ypou enter into a partnership with someone you are taking part of that responsibility! The fact that VUDU doesnt seem to care and is unwilling to refund my money or movies even though they can clearly see the movies were once there is crazy to me. I cant believe that they do business this way. And are currently getting away with it. Ive never had any other issues with VUDU, as a matter of fact I would always suggest to friends and family that they should open an account with them. I still use the app because even though I have 51 movies or more missing my I still have over 400 movies in my personal library. I am not giving up on this injustice though, I will continue to pursue even look at legal action until there is a resolution to this problem
Answer: I would just stay away from vudu altogether. They are the worst company I have ever interacted with. I spent a lot of money on videos with them and I cannot watch any of them because the just buffer literally every 5 seconds and then I downloaded them through vudu to go and they won't play on there either. I keep getting a message that vudu cannot authenticate my account. I e-mailed customer services 3 times and have never received a response. I have wasted about $1000. 00 on movies that I cannot watch. I have started using amazon prime video and other sites as well and have no problems whatsoever. Just stay away from vudu they are just taking your money.
Answer: I have had nothing but problems with vudu. My opinion is just stay away and use another company. They are the worst. You will waste your money.
