So, first of all, I admit that I completely misunderstood what I was ordering from vitalrecords.com. That said, their website makes it seem like you can order and receive a birth certificate with immediate electronic processing, but the fee and quick processing is just for the application! I thought I was paying just for the birth certificate - I did not realize there was a separate fee just for the application! Plus the application sucks since it states that I still have to mail it in first (so slow) and then wait more time for the birth cert to be mailed to me, what? It also automatically checks off the option to pay for the certificate by check instead of credit card for some reason? There is nothing convenient about any of that. After I had already purchased this dumb application, I discovered that I can order the birth certificate through my state's health services department for half the cost, and everything is processed online, no need for me to mail anything in. I emailed them hoping they will refund me, but we shall see.

I ordered my records on April 23rd. 4 days later I visited the site and it said it shipped the information to the records department where I need my records from. It said to allow 8 to 12 business days to receive it. May 18th I still have not received it so I called. The robot voice said it will go to the department in the next business day. I tried to talk to someone but I was on hold for an hour and a half and gave up. The bad thing about this is that the place I need my records from had this link and said to use it. Now what do I do?

I tried to get a birth certificate for my 87 year old aunt so that she could renew her driver's license. They took my money then sent me an email stating that they could not process my paperwork because the name on the birth certificate did not match the name on the DL. REALLY!? I explained that my aunt got married "58" years ago and changed her last name. All the other information was accurate, parents name, SS number, etc. They just kept sending me the same emails over and over. When I demanded a refund they sent me an email telling me that the information that I downloaded was sent through an email that they no longer use. If this is true then how did they know that the names on the DL didn't match the birth certificate? TOTAL SCAM! I'm going to report them to the Better Business Bureau ASAP! I hope people see this review and not waste their hard earned money!

HORRIBE website POSING as a convenient way to order your OWN birth certificate. I PAID $40.30 to EXPEDITE my B. C. so I can go on a trip.

After TAKING my money they send a email saying your process has been VOIDED we will KEEP the processing FEE. And return your money.

SO THEY KEEP my money for NO VALUE SHARED just a email telling me because I ANSEWERED everything ELSE right ABOUT ME and because I DO NOT KNOW MY BIOLOGICAL fathers NAME they VOID my birth certificate.

Im 30 TODAY Oct 4 2019. I ONLY MET MY " DAD " 2 X in my entire existence. HOW AND WHY WOULD A COMPUTER website like VITAL EXPECT ME TO KNOW my fathers name if thats the CASE.

THEY NEED TO GIVE ME " ALL " my money back, KEEP THIS SITUATION in mind FOR THE FUTURE for other single parent kids so they DONT STEAL their money, and/or just MAKE THE CORRECTION themselves SINCE they WONT LET ME ONLINE " AS MARKETED AND PROMISED"

I even CALLED after calling my MOM to get the name and make the correction and the SERVICE WAS EVEN MORE HORRIBLE speaking to an actual person thats associated with VITAL.

I NEED MY B. C. for a trip not ANOTHER stupid problem FROM VITAL a falsely marketed company to SEND YOUR B. C. FAST. Thats FALSEEEEEE

They should have posted this information on the first page to accurately inform the user just what is happening.

Not sure I understand the point of the service or why anyone would pay the $40 I was succered into paying thinking it was my State Vital Records Office's online program and all I got was a form completed for me which was not needed to obtain what I needed in person. Waste of money.

My fault, I failed to read the fine print that says I will have to pay additional money to the state agency, and I must make copies of my ID to mail in.

There goes $47.00 to Vital-records.com AND I still have to payout another $12.00 to the state to get the requested document.
I failed to read the fine print. It informs me that I will have to pay MORE money to the state agency, and I must go make copies of my ID to mail in. The downloaded form they provided was a simple state form that could be downloaded for FREE, and very EASY to complete yourself.

Lead you to believe that for $69.00 they can overnight you a certified copy of your birth certificate. It takes 5 business days to receive a one page application and a pre printed label for shipping. Then you are told that you need to pay another $20.00 to the vital statistics to pay for your birth certificate. Absolutely nothing was over nighted and when over a month later still have received any birth certificate. A complete rip off! You can order yourself through any state vital statistics office and have your certificate faster then using this farce of a company. They charged a total of $89.00 and a month and 4 days later still have not received anything. When I emailed them to find out what the hold up was I was told at least another 2 weeks! Research who you use people this place is a true scam!

Before you proceed with using this site that charges you $47 please read this review. This $47 is only for them to prepare your application no process it. You will pay an additional fee with the state to process your application. Please understand that the application they send you can easily be found on a state website. I needed a birth certificate from Texas and this website sent me the application for $47. I searched for the same form online and dshs.texas.gov provides this form for free. IF you think this business provides you with a birth certificate or death certificate, you are WRONG! They fill out the application and charge you $47 when you can do it for free! Below is the email they sent me after the took my money. They were only reviewing my application, not processing it. Please, every state offers information and forms on their requirements and application process. Do not allow this site to scam you of $47 when you also have to pay the state additional money!

The reviews here of 65,000 are a lie and bought by vital records. Do not believe for one minute that this is a legit company. They are a scam, they are fleecing people and refusing to provide refunds when it is legal to do so.

I asked for a refund within minutes of the order and within minutes of realizing that they were not a government agency and they went ahead and charged my card even after that.

AVOID THIS SCAM, GO DIRECTLY TO THE GOVERNMENT AGENCY FROM YOUR STATE.
