Don't bother with these people. You waste your time entering an order, and they won't except your valid credit card. They tell you to try another card. You do; same result. Their customer service people are totally worthless, and won't do anything to fix the problem. Find another place to buy your vitamins. I did (with same credit card Vitacost won't take!)
I saw a lot of negative reviews of Vitacost on Sitejabber, & so I was reluctant to order from them. However, what I was ordering (Delallo whole wheat pasta and whole wheat flour) was significantly cheaper than other sites or retail stores & so I took a chance. My order was taken filled and delivered in 5 days with the entire order accurate. I would use them again.
I was looking for an alternative to Amazon a few years ago and discovered Vitacost. I buy everything from bulk herbs and vitamin supplements to toothpaste and food! I have not been disappointed yet!
I even had a mishap where the laundry soap wasn't fully closed. It was in a bag, so I wasn't too upset. I let them know just to let them know, I wasn't expecting anything, and happily they refunded an item for me to make up for it.
Prior to the last 3 years, I enjoyed shopping with Vitacost and experienced good customer service. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. Instead, I have received stale and/or products (recent supplement disintegrated 1 year prior to the expiration date), missing items ordered, ignored emails for assistance, duplicate emails stating I will hear from customer service but not doing so and terrible/rude customer service from some of the CSR's. Most recently, received written confirmation/approval for a refund that should have been in the same payment form within 72 business hours, since 3/12/22. Unfortunately, still have not received it. Emails I sent asking for an update on processing went ignored. I s/w Customer Service today and they stated mistake and no refund approved. I let them know that was incorrect and sent over emails confirming not only was the refund approved, stated it would be returned in 72 hours. Now they are giving me a runaround and trying to weasel out of applying for my refund as agreed. Also, just found out they are now owned by Kroger, so that explains a lot.
Vitacost shipped my items to the wrong address. I talked to a customer service representative (Henry) who said he would send a replacement to the correct address. He shipped the replacement to the incorrect address again. I called Vitacost and asked for a refund or replacement as I never received the items. They refused and the supervising customer service representative hung up on me. In essence, I did not receive my items and Vitacost is keeping my money. BUYER BEWARE!
Even though I live in a metro area where food allergies are accommodated Vitacost offers me easy, fast ordering and a wide variety of products. I hung with this business for that reason through the shipping problems I originally experienced and one or two unhappy customer experiences. To their credit they have always refunded my money and are constantly improving. Logistics have improved dramatically and I now receive my shipments in perfect shape and within 5 days sometimes sooner. If you have a special diet or food allergies this is a great place to shop. I also get cents off coupons and they frequently run sales. I can search for products that fit my particular diet so don't have to weed through things I can't eat. I've been shopping here for about 5 years and feel comfortable saying this business is terrific

Vitacost sent me an email with a 12 percent discount code. I logged in to the website, placed an order and entered the code. It didn't work. Tried multiple times with no success.
I have been shopping at Vitacost for more than 15 years and, until the last 2-3 years, would have given them 5 stars. There have been increasingly frustrating order deliveries (nothing to do with supply/demand). Deliveries are delivered to wrong addresses, left at the back of my apartment on parking lot/driveway in weather and easily stolen if someone was inclined. This is in spite of a large sign asking that deliveries be left at front door. Most of the Vitacost deliveries in my area are by OnTrac. FedEx and Amazon have never done this and I am a frequent online shopper. In addition, with more frequency, is leaving my Unit # off of the label (contributing to the delivery issues). I have chatted, called, emailed multiple times with Vitacost Customer Service. They are happy to send the order again or refund but I have been unable to get them to address the core issues. An example would be letting them know the Unit # was not on the label. They say they see it in their system so don't believe it is not there. At one point I took a picture of the label sans Unit # but they did not want to see it. My latest order (placed on 3/1/22) was within 20 miles of my home and sat there for 7 days then sent back to Vitacost. When I talked with a supervisor, there was no apology, no explanation, just offer of resending order in another 4-5 business days. The most frustrating is their unwillingness to address the basic reason for the delivery issues. I am now researching alternative sites to order from. I may not be their highest spending customer but I average $150 - $200 per month.
Not impressed with Customer Service. Wait time too long. Not enough people to handle calls. Have found supplements at other sites with competitive prices as Vitacost has changed prices. Products changing and you can't keep up with their discounts as they don't always honor them.
So, I had the same experience as the others here. Placed an order and the order has not shipped. Unable to contact customer service. Ended up filing complaints with the BBB and State attorney Generals office. I have been using vitacost for years and never had any issues until recently. Whats fustrating is that they are not even bothering to communicate with their customers at all.
So we are left waiting in limbo with no order and no option to just cancel the order. I ended up ordering from another online vendor and the order has already shipped and will be delivered to me tommorrow. I will say that this is not the norm for Vitacost as I have been using them for years.
However, its inconsiderate to treat customers like that. I just don't know what's going on with them but hopefully they will get it together.
I ordered vitamins for my daughter who is in college. When I placed the order there was no indication the products were not available. I ordered Vitamin C and D. I never received an email stating the order had been placed or providing an order number. However, my paypal was charged as 'pending.' After 10 days I emailed and canceled the order. That was like calling into the abyss. Next I chatted with a customer service on their site. They said they would ask a supervisor. Meanwhile, I tried to cancel the payment through paypal but could not. Again back to emailing and there was no response. My daughter walked to CVS and bought the vitamins she really needed. Almost a month later, I received an email telling me the order had shipped and I could refuse when it arrived. What a waste of time and money when they could have canceled it when I asked 2 weeks ago. Now, they just sent me a coupon to recognize how late they were in shipping. NO WAY will I ever order something from them again. I order things online all the time and this was very poor customer service. It was like they actively ignored me until almost a month later.
This company was top notch at one time. While they still have great products... it's the absolutely horrible customer service that keeps me away. Only order if you enjoy shipping delays, off shore agents with no experience, repeating yourself, and a lack of common sense.
I've recently placed 2 orders with Vitacost. The first order resulted in them sending me the wrong product, so I have 3 huge boxes of product to return, but no meaningful response from customer service. The second order has been completely cancelled by Vitacost (? Due to not having the product they advertised), and I've now received at least 50 emails telling me that they are not sending me anything. This company should be out of business.
I normally don't write reviews but I get tired of companies using every excuse to not deliver their products and have bad customer service. I'd give NO stars for Vitacost if I could! I've waited weeks for a box of simply items and still waiting then just today after another round of excuses as to why I've not yet received my order I get an email from Vitacost saying one of the items I ordered weeks ago and they had said was on its way is out of stock. Yet they took my payment weeks ago and also I paid for shipping! Bad customer service and horrible excuse for a company in my opinion and I will never order from them again.
I've shopped Vitacost for years. I placed a $120 order on 2/14/22, and never received my products. I have sent emails, messaged on FB and tried to call, which is a joke! I have gotten zero response from them. Very frustrating!
I use(d) vitacost, bc I take about $250 of supplements a month, and on a fixed income, yikes! Their prices made/ke it possible for me to use what I need, and try other possible less expensive alternatives, and new to me products that may work a wonder or two. I haven't had ANY problem with customer service (other than the generic form response letter being sent a couple times, but that's par the course, not reading customers letters), I even had an order that was accidentally doubled (their site, not me!) and was resolved w no issue. BUT THEIR WEBSITE SUUUUUCKS! It loads slowly, jerks around, boxes to tap in the wrong spots so u add and delete things w. Out even trying, they often say something is in stock when it isn't (for months), to go back a page, so. Sometimes u tap back arrow, sometimes the arrow up top... and a litany of other issues w the site. Honestly miss being able to order from there, but the last time took me 8 hrs to do a 2hr order, LAST STRAW.
I placed a single item order. After 2 weeks it still had not shipped. I couldn't get any info on a ship date and was unable to cancel the order. I used their online chat service several times and got nowhere. I emailed them, and got nowhere. Used their chat line on 2/25 and was advised the order would ship on 2/26. That did not happen. Contacted them again via chat on 2/28 and was told the order was waiting to be picked up by the carrier. I advised them I didn't believe them and I wanted the order canceled. They stated the order couldn't be canceled, even though it hasn't shipped. I am generally a patient person but two weeks to ship 1 item and them to give me the runaround on when it might ship - I'm out of patience. Had I known it would take this long to get my item shipped I would have gone with a different supplier. Do NOT order from this company.
I've used Vitacost for many years, their packing and shipping were always spot on and fantastic. Now I can't get a ship date and when I contact service i'm told something different 3x and none of them were true. Ended up cancelling the order and I will shop elsewhere. If you don't have something I understand but being HONEST about it is a priority, not "it's shipping today" when it's not and "3 to 4 days" when it has been 10.
+3 weeks waiting & counting for a paid order to first SHIP at Vitacost. With market available products that shipped next day at iHerb when I had to order there also to get my vitamins.
In 2018 I opened my Vitacost account and ordered for thousands of dollars over the years. But never have experienced what I am going through now.
- on 29jan22 I ordered for 218$ with special promo code for 20%.
- a week later, I opened my account and noticed that my order was still not shipped. I contacted Vitacost customer support via chat, and they let me know that my order will ship soon but they have some delays due to many orders.
- So I waited another 4 days and contacted Vitacost again via chat. With all the waiting, I lost another hour just to hear the same my order will ship soon. (asked for the support transcript)
- To be sure I wrote Vitacost customer support an email on 11febr22 with all details of the order, included printscreens, asking when the order will be shipped. I did not got any reply the next days so had to resent the same email 3 times.
- on 18febr22 I got a reply from Vitacost. Offering me a promotional code for 154$ that would replace my existing order that has not shipped yet.
= my paid order of 218$ not shipped yet after 3 weeks, has now lost 64$ in value, on top I lost the 20% special discount of that promo that has expired because they ask me to enter a new order without the discount of 20%, and on top I lost 5 hours chatting & emailing with Vitacost support asking when my order will ship. Shipping is full in control of Vitacost and has nothing to do with the courier.
CONCLUSION:
So Vitacost lets an old client wait for +3 weeks and counting, never ships the product and then gives a voucher to order again with a loss of 64$ and loss of that special discount of the original order. And a loss of contacting Vitacost support who always promised my order will ship soon. I just had to wait a little more.
SOLUTION:
Because I could not wait longer, I ordered ALL the same products with iHerb, and the day later got a reply that the order was shipped. = the products I ordered by Vitacost are available in the market. There should be no reason to hold an order for +3 weeks and counting if the products are available.
Answer: Yes they sell brand names and reputable products. They may not sell everything though depending on what you're looking for. I couldn't find the product I wanted anywhere other than through Vitacost so I was quite impressed.
