I had ordered several bottles of Mega EFZ D3 fish oil, seduced by the attractive price. The fish oil arrived, I used it for a few days and it made me sick every time. It must have contained semi-rotten fish; it smelled terrible even though the expiration date was ok. In 20 years of daily use of fish oil capsules no other brands ever made me sick. I tried to return the merchandise, asked Vitacost about their return procedure, never got an answer. Since the company does not stand behind their merchandise and since we are not talking about some cute accessory but about supplements you ingest, get your order filled by a reputable company!

I have been ordering from this company for many years! They have the best PRICES, and quality vitamins. You can find almost any vitamin other stores offer. Free shipping if you spend at least $50.00. Shipping is always fast too. I highly recommend Vitacost!

I placed an order with the company and received an empty box. I spent 10 minutes on hold to talk to someone about this. When I got a representative, I didn't even get an apology. Her response was, "Wow. That's something." If you check on the BBB under complaints, apparently, this isn't an uncommon thing. Waiting to see if I actually get my refund. Glad I used PayPal.

I would like this vendor EXCEPT they drive you crazy with email solicitations and say it takes them 3 weeks to remove you from their list. Aside that it has been over that, they have no unsubscribe function which violates email standards and good sense. I will never use them again--it really is harassment.

Live in AZ., closet warehouse NV., Site says "FREE SHIPPING OVER $49 | Order by 1 p.m. & receive your order in 1 day!* I order 2 items over $49 before 1 PM, 1 of those items not in stock in NV., only in stock in SC and shipped UPS ground with a 7 day delivery. Total order $52.12, use debit card, $52.12 pending hits acct. And a separate pending charge of $27.99 also hits acct. For the item shipping from SC. C. S. Says happened because 1 is item is shipping from SC., I will only actually be charged $52.12 when order ships, the pending $27.99 will fall off acct. In 3-4 days. Total B. S., a pending amount is not available money on a checking acct., if a check comes thru this will NSF the acct.
Many times I order multiple items, site says "In Stock", 2 days later receive email that it's not in stock and will ship as soon as it is. Always told "Sorry for the inconvenience". Will no longer do business with Vitacost.

I've been buying from Vitacost for a number of years now. I am gluten-free. In my last sizable order, I purchased 10 lbs of flour, I thought was gluten-free. It was not. This was clearly MY mistake, that I owned. Nevertheless, as a one time special consideration, they refunded my money, AND had me keep the flour. Essentially that was $40.00 worth of consideration! What other company does that? PLUS my packages arrived in ONE day... with the most considerate packaging I've ever seen. Bottled hand soaps, liquids, & items in paper bags & boxes (like flour or starches) were also placed in re-useable sealed plastic bags, to eliminate the possibility of loss/mess/seepage. Those bags were not flimsy but extremely durable & functional to insure the safety of the product contained. Those are Great Business Practices. Mighty Impressive!

I have been using Vitacost for like 8 months and never had any issues. Prices are amazing and delivery was always on time, but my latest order is the reason for this review. I made an order last week and it was supposed to be delivered on Monday. Nothing happened so on Tuesday I checked my tracking number to see the status of delivery and it said that it was left at my front door! I checked again all around the front of the house and there was nothing, asked my neighbor lady who is always outside did she see anything and she said nope, so I called Vitacost and they told me that they have to contact delivery company to see what happened and will get back to me. That was yesterday morning, just now I called them again and they said that delivery company was supposed to cal me and come out
Today, when I said I didn't hear anything from delivery guys she just issued a new replacement order and within minutes I received an email thanking me for my order and sure enough everything is being re-sent and I was not charged for anything. THANK YOU VITACOST for great customer service and great prices

I ordered some whey protein, and my card was charged. A day later they said the item was discontinued and my order was being refunded. Still waiting for that refund. I'm sure I will get the refund, but canceling someone's order after it has been placed is extremely unprofessional. Will not waste my time with this company in the future.

Don't be duped into ordering the larger size bottles from the Vitacost BOGO 1/2 off offers.
They will "shout it from the rooftops" but these enticing deals are an underhanded way of unloading products that are close to their expiration date.
I have come across several in their current BOGO offers.
A perfect example is the B-12 bottle of 300 capsules (to be taken one a day). It has an expiration date of 10-1-'15. By the time you use up the first bottle, the second bottle will already have expired. This is just one example. There are others.

Have been using this site for years now, going in through ebates.com to get cash back, and using a card that gives cash back, practically free! But their prices are excellent for everything from vitamins/supplements to groceries to personal supplies. Shipping is free after a certain dollar amount, not much, and shipping is fast. If something is dented or damaged, they are very good at replacing, but it rarely happens. Just about everything is discounted and their sales are super! Free samples too. Would highly recommend you try this place out, get a member to refer you and get extra benefits, no this is not a club, there is no obligation or any kind and no minimums or repeats required, it's just a web site that is dependable and honest.

I ordered a product 9, 7, 14 they gave me a estimate time too receive it 9, 12, 14 I'm in a weight loss contest I need this product ASAP have not gotten it yet, next time I'll stick with my other company they get this same product to me in 3 days and they are in anot her state.

Tiago, above, states that Vitacost have lost their BBB rating when in fact they have an A+ rating.
I live outside of the USA so do not find Vitacost as cheap as other companies when it comes to shipping. They state this is because the company i use is more expensive to cover their cheap shipping: this is a blatantly not true as Vitacost are cheaper on some but more expensive on other items.
So far i have used Vitacost twice without issue but i would not use them exclusively as it pays to shop around and it takes a huge saving to justify the more than double shipping costs. Remember despite what these internet companies state, you do have protection with your credit card: open a dispute with your cc company.
Use them with confidence, however, if you have a bad experience vote with your feet and go elsewhere

I've placed several orders through Vitacost and have referred family and friends. I didn't experience any issues with shipping delays (most orders come on the third day), products being "bad", or incorrect or missing items. This last shipment, I did not receive an item and two of the items were leaking. I stated I merely wanted a replacement for the missing item, but I wasn't terribly concerned with the leaking items (the tape they place over the lids and caps usually stops the problem). Within just a couple of hours overall for two e-mails, I had replacements for all three items preparing to be shipped.

I am also someone who writes reviews for every single item I purchase so not "all" of the reviews are fake.:)

Their products are much cheaper than what I'm able to find on Amazon most of the time, plus their selection is much greater. Not to mention, it's hard to pass up $10 for you and a friend each time you refer someone. I appreciate their speedy customer service and will continue to shop Vitacost.

Absolutely useless!

Absolutely useless! My first order with this company took over a month to be delivered. I gave them a second chance as I thought it may of been a one off. The second order was a bit late but not too bad. The third order however was a month overdue. After countless emails and live chats they finally refunded my order. So I had to wait for over 5 weeks for my health products that never came. What a waste of time.

OK I'm a real reviewer from Canada (I see few comments here that reviews are planted?) with very good experience with these guys. Even with shipping costs and taxes and all they are still a better deal compared to most US and especially Canadian retailers. Prices are decent, shipping was quick and at very affordable rate and the selection was good. Definitely recommend them.

Do not use this company go with Amazon.com this company is a JOKE. They told me i would have my order in 2 days then they sent it to Miami when I called they cancelled my order and refunded me without even telling me as I sat here 5 days later still waiting for the order. Go to a better company bc this one might have good prices but like they say you get what you pay for. BEWARE

Product satisfactory, shipping time efficient but earth friendly, not.
They claim commitment to the planet but they sent me a 2 ounce flat product in a 5"x6"x3" box which had a totally unnecessary plastic sealed air packing material. I have a picture to show how ridiculous it looks but this review cannot accommodate it. This could have so easily fit in a small envelope mailer.

I put in an order on 5/15, it said free expedited shipping on my receipt (order was over $55). One day later I receive my shipping notice that it was going under standard shipping not expedited as stated on my receipt which I still had up on my screen.
Customer service said basically sorry nothing we can do except give you a 10% discount which was already the sale going on and expedited shipping on my next order even though their site was stating exactly that (10% off plus free expedited shipping on orders over $49) so basically they are lying. Pulling you in with an offer and stating it on the order yet not honoring it then trying to justify their error. They even told me that my order stated standard shipping when it was clear by my still up order receipt that it was free expedited. They are giving me free expedited on my next shipment so they say but how can I believe them and what recourse do I have since they have done this already? I will definitely never order from them again. I would have ordered from another website but was pulled in by their bogus offer. In one week I will see if the order even arrives (that was supposed to be here tomorrow). Go to a more reputable company or just accept that your order will not come when they say it will without any recourse except through the credit card company which will be my next step.
