Viagogo Reviews Summary

The company's reputation is significantly marred by a consistent pattern of customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to issues related to ticket availability, inflated pricing, and inadequate customer service. Customers frequently report receiving invalid tickets, last-minute notifications, and a lack of effective support when seeking refunds or resolution. While some users may have had positive experiences, these are overshadowed by widespread claims of fraud and poor service. The overall sentiment reflects a strong caution against using the platform, highlighting a pressing need for improved transparency and customer support to rebuild trust.

Total scam
September 6, 2018

I spent $800 on 4 tickets to the Foo Fighters at Safeco Field, thinking I would splurge for my dads birthday. I selected "seats" close to the stage based on the Viagogo seating chart. They were 4 specific seats together about 5 rows back. I am 8 months pregnant and my father who I bought the tickets for has bad knees, so we both require a chair, neither of us can stand through a whole show at this time. When we arrived the entire area was standing only, despite that our tickets said section 7 row 5 and had specific seat numbers. There wasn't a chair in sight. The worst part is that I paid more for "seats" closer to the stage than the "seats" in the same section that were a little farther back. We spent the first half of the show walking all around the stadium (a very pregnant lady, and a man with bad knees) trying to track down a Safeco employee who could help find us some chairs. I totally got scammed by Viagogo and would not recommend them to anyone.

Said i can reseel them which i did having to take a loss of 90 pounds because of there charges only to be told i cannot get my money until 8 days after the reschueled concert to which nobody knows when that is!.

I bought two tickets for a Goran Bregovic concert, paid many taxes and waited for them to send the tickets to me... What I got was nothing similar to what paid for... I paid 85 dollars for tier A tickets and got tier C tickets, which cost 30 dollars! I contacted them and found out that the tickets are non refundable. All I ca do is try to resend them on their site and probably scam smb else in the same way they did... I cannot believe the lack of common sense of these people! Avoid them, they are total thieves!

Deplorable service!
September 1, 2018

I had the misfortune to purshase a ticket for a concert. They have no refund policy (they kept insisting on that. Remind me at the end of every e-mail I got from them), their customer service is deplorable. They sent my ticket to the wrong address and claimed they held no responsibility for it.
Truly, a horrendous experience and a simple waste of my money!

Even the display on their website is misleading to rip you off! They display the various prices... then when you chose the one you are looking for, it charges the maximum price and takes it off your card.

My experience is rather different to others here complaining
About overspending. I was genuinely
Defrauded of nearly 800 for two Electric Picnic tickets. I hope this review will jog a few others
Memories also as I think most forget this bit through the shock of the rip
Off. When you come to the very last
"confirm payment" page (the page where in my case they lashed on an
Extra 400!) there are two buttons, on the right a black "confirm payment",
To the left a yellow "I have a question" button. There is no "refuse payment/I dont
Accept" button etc. etc. Because they are filth. I had absolutely zero
Intention of paying that amount for the tickets but was afraid if I x'ed out of
The page I'd be charged anyway. I
Pressed the yellow "I have a question" button and hey presto! My
Payment was confirmed! Blatant
Fraud. My heart jumped into my throat, I
Got straight onto Viagogo and my bank immediately. The bank could do nothing and Viagogo refused
To reply to any of my emails, couldnt get anyone by phone and only responded
When I demanded the tickets off them. I then basically spent the next few
Miserable months trying to break even on these horrendously overpriced tickets
As there was no way I could go to the event now with such a bitter taste in my
Mouth. In the end, I was so stressed
Trying to sell them on I ended up losing out around 150 in total. Apparently this lot cant be taken to task as
They are deliberately based outside the EU.
I cant really believe nothing can be done to shut them down but I urge
Everyone please please please dont engage with them, walk away, read this
Review and be warned. If I prevent one
Other poor person going through the stress and hassle I experienced it will be
Worth it. And would really appreciate if
Others could let me know the same thing with the yellow button happened with
You, you might not remember this is really what they do and like me, you NEVER
Confirmed payment, we were just ripped off completely!

Total Rip Off!
August 28, 2018

My daughter wanted tickets for Sam Smith in Bangkok and was online to search the minute they released. I was foolish enough to let her use my credit card since I trusted it would be a normal concert fee. It turns out she was unfortunate enough to land on viagogo.com when she searched for tickets and was super thrilled when she was getting tickets. Afterwords we discover that she had paid 9 000 THB for tickets with face value of THB 5 000. Obviously someone is using the fact that people are very stressed in getting tickets for popular events on release date/time. Since it was the same minute tickets where released I can only conclude that the person has advertised tickets he/she did not have at a rip off price and bought the tickets for normal price after having tricked my daughter into paying the 80% mark up...

I have had a long chat with viagogo support but without getting any straight answers to my question. They claim that face value of tickets are displayed and that sellers are "forced" to input face value. In our case I doubt it since my daughter would have reacted. Also when I reposted the same tickets (automated function on the site) there was no pre filled face value (other info was auto filled from original posting) and the field was even blocked for input.

I asked the same straight question 4 times since I did not get a straight answer. Still the support neglected my question and sent a general information about their sales process... Very very bad! Make sure your teenagers are aware of what kind of site this is!

They told me my tickets would be in Ticketmaster mobile - they were sent to Seat Geek that I found hours before the event so could not use them because in another state. State it's my fault and will not refund my money - complete SCAM! Didn't confirm tickets until hours before the event, either.

So unfortunately I'm not able to go the the British MotoGP this year because of some work commitments, so I decided to sell the ticket through a "professional" organisation. So I got my confirmation from Viagogo that my tickets are now on sale but ever since I have not been able to find any tickets actually for sale through Viagogo, so how is anybody else supposed to be able to buy them?

I've tried contacting them but it's impossible. Sent an email but no response.

Now with only 7 days left before the event, I'm going to withdraw my tickets and then it will be interesting to see if Viagogo try to charge me something.

Viagogo are a complete scam.
They go to great lengths to advertise that they have tickets to an event. Pretend that they the tickets are in limited supply and give you a count-down timer for you to quickly check-out so you dont lose your tickets.
They then hide all sorts of fees that doubles the cost of the tickets.

Then they don't even send them!
They then thank you for your order and promise they will send the tickets.
Then suddenly you are bound to their Terms and Conditions never presented.

How is it that they can charge and not fuflil and then claim that they can't cancel the transaction that they have not fulfilled.

And the cheek of it all is that they claim not to be party to the Transaction.

They are a scam.
Visa and MasterCard need to do something about these fraudulent merchants.

How is this legal
August 14, 2018

We tried to book tickets for an opera in Sicily. We had not encountered Viagogo before so we assumed that we were on the official website. Viagogo told us that there were only five tickets left for the event (we are a family of five), and that the cheapest remaining tickets were at 95 euros each! Luckily we decided to double check, and with another google found the actual official website which had loads of tickets left at 35 euros each. How can it be legal for a company to try so clearly to swindle customers out of their money! Avoid like the plague.

Disgusting weasels
August 12, 2018

Viagogo is a massive NO NO. They are a parasite that feed off stealing money from "customers" with FAKE TICKETS. The giveaway for me was he personal commentary on tickets such as "hottest tickets " and "treat yourself". I think they should treat themselves to a lawsuit on their heads.
