Viagogo Reviews Summary

The company's reputation is significantly marred by a consistent pattern of customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to issues related to ticket availability, inflated pricing, and inadequate customer service. Customers frequently report receiving invalid tickets, last-minute notifications, and a lack of effective support when seeking refunds or resolution. While some users may have had positive experiences, these are overshadowed by widespread claims of fraud and poor service. The overall sentiment reflects a strong caution against using the platform, highlighting a pressing need for improved transparency and customer support to rebuild trust.

Charge huge hidden fee's, with a check out system that doesn't make it clear that they're doing so. It doesn't make the full price obvious until you've already paid.

After thinking I was paying $170, after a click I had paid $243. I emailed immediately asking for a refund, but they refuse, even with the show 6 months away and after contacting them directly after

Paid £106 in May for 1 ticket to see Joan Armatrading, travelled to England from France especially and 3 days before they told me no tickets available. They are supposed to me refunding me. Went to theatre myself this morning and got a returned ticket, better seat for £35.
They are scammers and should not be allowed to trade.

I wanted to go to an ice hockey game in Edmonton and bought the tickets one evening before the event. They didn't send the tickets even if I contacted them twice. They didn't really help me and I paid for nothing. I looked in all my e-mail folders and I am very sure that there was no other e-mail. I was just lucky that the staff from Edmonton Oilers was very kind, but they didn't cooperate with viagogo!
So better don't use viagogo...

The UK Competition and Markets Authority are currently taking legal action against Viagogo

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/cma-launches-court-action-against-viagogo

I have stupidly purchased 2 tickets from this site today. Their site is designed to give the impression that the tickets they are selling a scarce and in high demand (I wouldn't be surprised if the numbers they are show for '% tickets left', 'number of people also viewing these tickets' are completely fabricated). They put you in a 'queue' to buy your tickets. After reading the reviews here I now have doubts if I will ever get tickets. They give you 5.5 to buy the tickets you've ordered, and have a form has lots of fields to fill in and must have been carefully crafted to take atleast 4.5 minutes to complete. They presumably have links to the terms and conditions, but there's no way anyone could read them in the time given.

They have an option to sell the tickets you have bought - obviously you lose out on the fees you've paid, looks like you also lose out on the VAT and also the delivery charges. The price they are quoting for reselling is about the same as they charged me for the ticket part of my invoice - but I wouldn't be surprised if there are hidden fees that eat all of that up.

To be on the safe side, I have purchased tickets direct from event organiser - they were a fraction of the price and there does not appear to be any shortage.

Do not deal with this company. I am out over $3400 because of them. I bought BTS tickets for tonight at the Prudential Center on May 5th for my daughters 18th birthday. We still do not have the tickets and had to buy new tickets to ensure our daughter would be able to attend. The customer service person was no help and will not do anything to make this right. The tickets were to be available by 9/27 at the latest. They still are not available. We will be taking legal action.

This is a scam website
September 28, 2018

You should never buy tickets from this website. They are practicing huge fees and you can't get any refund from them! Stupid me, I bought 2 Golden Circle tickets for the Metallica concert in Barcelona for 9 may 2019 for 575 euro(150 euro booking fee and 425 the tickets). The real tickets weren't even released. When the real tickets were released, I realized that a golden circle ticket was 140 euros. I tried to make a refund but I couldn't.

STOLE MY MONEY
September 19, 2018

I ordered two tickets to a concert on this site and they changed the delivery method from mailing them to my home, to will call and finally to e-tickets. I never received the E-tickets to attend the concert (which I paid $200 for). There is absolutely no way of corresponding with customer service and if you are lucky enough to find a page to submit a question you will not get a response back! Please avoid this scam ticket site.

I just had to CANCEL my credit card because they continue to process fraudulent charges on the card. I bought tickets (mistakenly bc they make their site look like the site of the event you want to buy tickets) for an ridiculous amount of money. I immediately realized what I had done and tried to undo it, they have no customer service number and any support emails are met with nonsensical answers. So, I called my bank and they immediately started proceedings against them. I bought the tickets in May of 2018, it is now two days before the event and I still don't have my tickets. I did put the tickets up for re-sale and sold them right before the event. I used their site to say that I hadn't yet received the tickets, but would ship asap when i did get them. Those $#*!s had the nerve to charge me bc I couldn't ship tickets I didn't have. $162.00. I disputed this charge with my bank and had to close my account so they can't just charge anything they want going forward. I cannot understand how they are allowed to stay in business.

Do Not Use Viagogo!
September 13, 2018

NO STARS Do not use Viagogo! Is an out and out scam. Conner Williams has written an article about it in which he describes exactly the experience I had. I thought i was buying direct from the venue not a 3rd party, I ended up spending £150 on a pair of tickets that should have been £40 (because "quick hurry these expensive seats are the only 2 seats left!" there were no expensive seats and the gig didnt sell out this was a tactic. They also charged £30! Booking fee as well as separate charges for using my card which I didnt notice at the time I clicked the buy button ( what can I say Im a sleep deprived mum and I was being distracted by tiny little hooligans at the time)... To quote Conner Williams article: "Here's what Viagogo do:
They make it seem like you are buying 2 tickets for the single price stated (probably illegal, false advertising)
"Last 2 tickets left!" Makes you rush into their checkout and get this great (misleading) offer.
Once you click buy, you will be manipulated with plenty more "scarcity" tricks. BUTthey update their pricing in the basket.
This ensures they are abiding by the law, they are now showing correct ticket costs, booking fees and other extra costs. BUTmost of us still buy, because we are being bombarded & persuaded by so many urgency messages, we completely miss the updated price in the basket. "

Sharlatans and worse.
A company that falsified their own terms of contract.
I believed I was purchasing two tickets directly from the venue and not from a third-party.
My two tickets were purchased in June for £54 and we chose our seating position for a Bush gig in September. As their website told me they were selling fast.
When I tried to cancel these tickets the same day as something occurred to prevent us going. I was told their policy is no refunds on purchasd tickets and would have to resell them on their site.

I explained of only just purchasing and had not received any tickets to place on their resales.
They advised to wait for the tickets. What I did not understand if I had purchased them that day, why would I need to wait for our tickets.
I wrote two lengthy emails which gave the same lame response stating no refund.
Being based in Switzerland is very convenient.

Eventually when I received my tickets they were purchased in September by a man I never knew for standing area at £15 each. Over three months they sat on my money.
If their policy is no refunds because they have already purchased these tickets how can they explain that they actually had not because this person brought them in September.
Thinking because they are based in Switzerland they are immune of prosecution is scandalous.
Mind you, expect nothing less from a Country who shielded the stolen fortune's of the Nazis!
Appears like Switzerland still has no conscious over who it protects.
How much interest are you acquiring from the Swiss banks with all our money.
Shame on you Viagogo!

First of all, this is totally my fault. I should have paid attention. But I had a very busy day the day that the Elton John 2018 tickets went on sale. And I promised my son we were going to attend.
So I get online quickly, end up on the Viagogo site somehow, and buy 2 tickets for $485 total. I receive the tickets - issued in someone else's name - 3 days later. And the price stated on each ticket is $55.
I got charged 4 times the price. FOUR. For seats in the back.
There are No refunds per the company policy.
Had I not been so busy, I could have taken a trip to the venue to buy the tickets. For $55 each.
Now I'm reading the reviews and people are saying they couldn't even get in with Viagogo tickets they had bought!
We're going to the concert in a few days with our rip-off tickets. I hope we can get in.
