Zero Communication

We rented a really cute house in an excellent location, but check-in was a nightmare and Vacasa was not good to work with. When I originally booked this trip, I got a confirmation email from Vacasa stating that check in was at 4:00 pm; however, shortly before the trip, I got a reminder email stating that check in wasn't until 6:00 pm. I called Vacasa about the discrepancy and to see if it was possible to check in at 4:00, but was told we wouldn't be permitted entry until 6:00.

Upon arrival, it was clear that the house hadn't been cleaned. I called Vacasa who said they would send their cleaners out right away, and it would be easier for them to clean if we left the property. We left for about an hour and a half, but when we returned, the house still hadn't been cleaned. We again called Vacasa to let them know that no one had come to clean the property. By this time, it was past bedtime for our 3 and 5 year old, but we weren't able to put them to bed because their rooms hadn't been cleaned and the sheets hadn't been changed. The cleaning crew finally made it to the house, cleaned and left around 8:30 pm.

After our trip, I contacted Vacasa about a partial refund and was told that a supervisor would be in touch with me that afternoon or the next day. No one called. I again called Vacasa today (~10 days later) to follow-up and was told that we had been refunded the cleaning fee of $77.80. I let them know this was unacceptable, and I continue to wait for a response from them.

We've been renting houses in the outer banks for years and always had a positive experience. This was our first (and last) time we've used Vacassa. The 8 bedroom house *, has many pluses, but … When we arrived the pool water was green, and they were still cleaning the house after our checkin time. There were so many issues with the house that show how poorly the property is managed. Gates in the pool area that don't close, decking splintering with pertruding nails, siding blown off the house, stove where large burner doesn't work, large leak in pool that requires adding over 1000 gallons every day. I could go on listing items showing how poorly the property is maintained. We called customer service over a dozen times, they said our issues were marked as urgent, and we would receive a callback from the property manager * and homeowner, but no one ever called us back. We're still waiting, but not holding our breath.

We booked a 3-day trip to Galveston. On their website says dogs allowed no extra fees.So We booked it. They then sent us a contract that said no dogs allowed unless you pay $150 extra.We told them that their AD on booking.com said Dogs welcome no fees. They made ridiculous excuses.And said contact booking. Thats not our problem. They posted this listing on booking.It is their problem. We have no cancellation on our contract. So now we either have to pay the $150 which they trapped us in or lose all of our money. These people are pathetic and inconsistent and their listings are inaccurate. Based on all the bad reviews I've seen from this company I do not recommend anyone do business with them.

Less than impressed

We are staying in a Vacasa rental in Lake Anna, VA. While the house was clean when we arrived the lack of amenities was less than desirable. The ice maker was disabled by the homeowner and there were no ice cube trays. We had to travel to 5 different stores about 20 minutes away to buy ice cube trays. There was one saucepan, 2 dish towels, dirty cutting boards, about 7 forks (for a rental unit that holds 12), 6 glasses, and the absolute CHEAPEST and most USELESS cooking utensils. They were so flimsy you couldn't even serve pasta without it bending. We also had to purchase more forks and a stock pot to cook for the week. We ended up using the extra bath hand towels for dish towels. There are NO serving bowls, Tupperware containers to store leftovers, or potholders. There is only one pyrex dish as well.

The faucet and shower head in the main bathroom feel like they are going to pull right out of the wall. The bed in the master bedroom squeaks so badly when you toss and turn in the middle of the night you wake up because of the noise. We had to put pillows behind the headboard to minimize the noise. My husband even tried tightening the bolts but neither remedy helped much at all.

I contacted our Vacas rep for the vacation home and 3 days later she delivered ice cube trays and forwarded my email detailing our issues to the property manager. We haven't heard anything in response from the property manager.

Needless to say, I will make sure that I NEVER rent or buy from Vacasa again!

No accountability

No curtains in condo though photos clearly show them. Children couldnt sleep in the living room because of sun shining in. Destroyed vacation for all 8 of us. Dirty dishes, stained beds, awful parking deck with dead ends and no signage, WI-FI connection constantly going in and out so streaming movies and shows was out. When trying to contact Vacasa they were saying it wasn't their problem and sent us to the property owner yet the property owner was telling us it was the Vacasa who should be resolving it. We spent $2500 on our stay and the parents ended up having to sleep on the sofa because of the lack of curtains keeping kids awake with the sunshine. We were offered $50 to compensate us for our troubles. Frankly, that was an insult for what we paid. Vacasa has a less than two star rating and I can certainly see why now. Heed the warnings.

Our 4-bedroom stay in Treasure Island has been cancelled as of 7/25/22. This is for 8 people for a wedding. Our vacation stay begins 10/1/22. They have offered us alternative lodging 4+ miles down the road past Madeira Beach. With our plans being in Treasure Island, we do not want to sleep in the Redington Beach area. We asked if we could they could provide us with 2 locations, either 1 bedroom + 3 bedroom or two 2 bedroom locations, and they said they will not do that. Do not book with Vacasa.

Worst Experience EVER

The customer service received and the conditions found were appalling. Absolute unacceptable conditions: An atrocious odor similar to mold was coming from the faulty AC unit. Behind the filter we discovered more dust and gunk in the unit itself. Upon pulling back the covers of each bed, we found hairs, dried stains and other secretions on both sets of linens. No extra sheets were found on the property. Once calling customer service at 11:30pm and being bounced around, the solution offered by 1:00am was to have us, the guests cover the cost and launder the linens ourselves.

We were left with no choice but to exit the property and seek other hotel accommodations. We are still awaiting the full refund from the local manager who has been unresponsive and lacking any honor or credibility in resolving this clear failure in service.

Got to the home we booked and the washer was broken among many other things ha that we're not working such as the fridge and ice maker, etc. I called them multiple times and altough the customer service reps were nice on the phone nothing was done ever, no maintenance person was sent and we had to leave 1 day early because of these issues. It was a terrible stay and Vacasa is just abandoning you once you're there. Not staying with them again.

Ever since the vacation home we rent every year was owned by them, the weekly price DOUBLED! 2 YEARS and it's now double the price with NOTHING added! Things were broken and not fixed. This company is a disgrace! They said the extra fees are for the staff to address things in a timely manner? That is absolute BS! Please do your research and make sure that the name Vacasa is NOT associated with any place that you rent. I promise you will more than likely be disappointed and paying WAYYY too much for what you get!

The Internet did not work because it is NOT high speed cable. VACASA offers an UNSECURED connection. They contend we should use the unsecured connection. We rented this place for a month in the summer and the company never did address the root cause of the Internet situation (DSL). We work remotely and had to go to CoWork at $56 day. For that inconvenience for a month, the Vacasa company gave us $150 (3 work days at Co-work).
We asked for minor assistance on several items in the house that needed repair through the ticket system and got NO response.
The backyard had NO grass, just weeds. There was an old dirty patio set out back and ants everywhere so the backyard was useless. There was no hose to wash patio. There were no supplies to be able to clean home (e.g., mop). The playhouse is hazardous for kids as there is a large place they can fall through. The Vacasa GM here ignored our concerns, though repeatedly told about issues in the rental home. Extremely poor customer service from VACASA! We will NOT rent from VACASA again. At least the Flagstaff weather is nice in the summer.

Cabin was inaccessible for parking, even after calling to verify. (had an elderly person with us that uses a cane. Had to walk down a set of steps - that the rails on the side fell over and then walk thru unlighted woods (not a path) to get to it. Customer service was awful. Started talking to them at 4 pm - was told someone would get back with us in 1 hour - to see about moving us to another cabin, no response. Called back - same response and same no contact. Did this until 8 pm and we finally had to leave. Received an email at 1:30 am stating that a full refund would be given. 2 weeks later - call them and someone says they will issue the credit. Then they only give a part of the credit due. Disputing charges with credit card company now for the balance. VRBO - could never get thru on the phone. Message said "high call volume" - call back another day.

THE ABSOLUTE WORSE!

Our family rented a 14 bedroom house in Davenport, FL with 39+ guests. Upon arrival to check in the house, there were so many things broken in the house & not cleaned. Called customer service to get the issues resolved and no one came. Called again the next day & still no one came. Called a 3rd time, a man showed up, took notes of the house, said that he would be back & never showed up. The sofa was busted, 5 of the tvs did not work, the theater room did not work and was very trashy, the pool was dirty. The kitchen lights kept going out. One of the refrigerators would not get cold. Bedroom doors were missing handles, bunk beds had broken frames, remotes were missing for the tvs. Both game rooms had broken games. And on our check out date, several of our vehicles were towed. I BETTER RECEIVE A FULL REFUND from the company!

The customer service was extremely unhelpful. We were trying to speak to someone for nearly 2 hours before getting adequate help in simply getting the key into our rental. We had to travel to some obscure place to get a key out of a lockbox behind a restaurant (what they instructed us to do when they FINALLY helped us). It was really sketchy being there. Furthermore, the code to the gate to enter the premises only worked once, leaving us stranded in a new state after driving a full 11 hours. The unit is also disgusting. Two big holes in the bathroom where previous tenants broke a towel rack, water is all over the sink, used damp towels, random smudges on walls, oh yeah, and ROACHES. Big ones. We couldn't get a refund or another room to stay in, so we suffered for 5 days.

Disgusting! The minute you walked in the smell hit you! It was so bad I had to buy candles to breath. It was dark and dank and the carpet was old and dirty and coming away from the floor! The stove was rusty and very outdated, the bathroom door was peeling off, the lounge chair on the porch was taped together. Oh and "the pool" was across the highway and a large field! The beach was 3/4 blocks away! I've stayed in some pretty bad places and this ranks #3 on my list. I tried to post pictures but I couldn't get then to download! For the money they charge it's a disgrace! Only saving grace is your in Hawaii…..

Vacasa takes management fee, pet fee, when something is broken you pay insurance for every guest and still pay for repairs because it never meets the min damage. When linens are missing no one would take responsibility or replace. First 4 months billing was wrong. Great sales people on the phone but goes downhill the minute you sign up.

Customer Service SUCKS! A terrible experience at Ocean Shores, WA. Check in is 4:00PM and at 3:30PM I received a call from management telling me the check-in has been delayed until 6:30PM! Not going to happen on my watch and since I had been at the unit when first arriving at 2:30PM to see that the unit was being cleaned by 2 women, there was no reason that the check-in time would need extending to 6:30PM. When our group arrived at 4PM, the unit was fairly well cleaned and can't understand what they would have needed an additional 2 hours for. Who does that at a beach vacation?
It took 6 hours to receive the necessary missing propane tank and extra blankets and our group was unable to eat because of the BBQ propane tank that didn't arrive until 9:30PM. A call into VACASA said that faster reply to Customer Service would be with a text... HEY, I'm STILL waiting for a reply to my text 3 days later!

Very Dissappointing

We have stayed at Camelot for 30 years. That is stopping because of all the new "rules" that the new owners, Vacasa have changed. We cannot guarantee our same unit year after year. The prices almost doubled and they did not clean the condo, when we arrived. They only placed a sticker around the toilet "showing" it was clean. There was alot of sheets sitting around in corners outside in the hallways for the whole week. This was never the case prior to this year. We were renting 3 condos a year. Camelot has always been kept pristine.

Temecula stay 7/14-7/17/22
14 guests and 2 infants. This home was beautiful. It was clean. Tried the door code for the casita and it didn't work. Called Vacasa, TWICE. Every call seemed like I never called. Finally we found a key just laying on the kitchen counter. WiFi not working, Vacasa was no help. Luckily we have tech savvy adults. Air conditioner in the bedroom part of the house did not work. We called Vacasa. Seemed super helpful "maintenance man will be out the". He showed up on the 2nd day of our stay. He said he would be back out in 2 hours. 4 hours later he said there was nothing he could do and Vacasa was responsible for the repair. Joi our contact at Vacasa stopped taking our calls and would not text back. We all slept in the common areas and game room because the air worked in those areas. Vacasa is so unprofessional. We rented through AirBnB. Host is listed as Turnkey Vacation Rentals, but when you have a problem you work through Vacasa. I'm sure it's because if anyone knew it was Vacasa they would skip that listing!
Please do yourself a favor and inquire about the host. The REAL host.
AirBnB was great after we got no help from Vacasa I contacted them and they refunded part of our 6k dollar 3 night stay!
