I started off way back when Elance and oDesk were still a thing, they were great but something was missing and then UpWork came to be. Rarely will you see a platform skyrocket to success like UpWork did but this is well justified. From the clean design, easy to use interface and lots of must-have features to a professional community that keeps on giving, super-friendly and helpful staff and plenty to explore, UpWork has it all and thereby remains in top of my list of best freelancing platforms that a freelancer must be on. For the 4 year's I've been a Top Rated member I have met some truly amazing people to work with. It's that one site where you enjoy your profession like you're meant to and earn extra needed to help you and your family. I have only the best of recommendations for UW!

I found some of the best clients in this market place. I think the fee of 20% at the beginning fo the contract is a bit too much but after $500 it becomes 10% which I think ok as they provide one of the best technique to guarantee freelancers money. I never felt that I may not get paid in Upwork. Also, I am not a fan new bidding system I think it make it hard for a new freelancer to join Upwork. Otherwise, I think Upwork is the best freelancing platform out there especially for long term jobs and they have the best environment for the freelancer who knows what they're doing.

I have been a part-time freelancer for over a decade and Upwork is the only platform where I have managed to find trustworthy and long-term clients that have quality work as well. Upwork's fees are quite high and while that could be discouraging in the beginning, I would urge a newbie to stick it through the initial period to reap the rewards later. If you're talented, you will soon get solid responses from clients. I've had to turn down offers at points because I couldn't manage the workload. Thank you Upwork for a great platform. I would love it if they charged a smaller premium fee but for the opportunities we are getting, I guess that's a price worth paying.

I have subscribed on Upwork in 2017, but I haven't got any job, and my account has been disabled due to my failing to get any project because I didn't have any experience in my field, I had forgotten about work as a freelancer. And after 3 years until now at the beginning of the current situation, I come back with good experience in my field, so I contacted the Upwork support and I followed the instructions to get my account activated again. After that in about a month, I have submitted a lot of proposal without getting hired, until I got my first 5$ project, and from this point, my successful story starts with Upwork and in about a month or less I achieved more than 1k $, I am only work in part-time in Upwork, indeed I am preparing to make Upwork my full-time work. I have worked on other freelance platforms but Upwork is the best because on Upwork you get what you deserve due to the review system, but on other platforms, you can work and get nothing.
