These guys were Butchers. Their handy work cost $1,500 to repair the body work damage they created as a result of the hitch installation. They basically installed a hitch that did not fit may vehicle.
I was helping my cousin it wasn't me who was moving anything, but I was helping However the moment we entered the building, we found the staff already in a fight with some customers, especially one guy from the staff he was very disrespectful unhelpful and just wants drama with the customers, I said maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions and it's the customers' fault. But boy was I wrong. We weren't even talking with them we went to start our process with another staff member and when we asked him questions he was nice and answered us patiently. However, the other staff members were making rude unnecessary comments towards us trying to get us mad so they could start another fight. The thing is we were super respectful and nice towards them yet we got this $#*!ty treatment. I wouldn't recommend to anyone this $#*!ty place. Quebec Montreal.
Uhaul called us 2 days before our move to tell us they didn't have any trucks available in the province. They said the nearest available truck was located in another country. We had booked the truck a month in advance. Uhaul is truly awful.
I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience with U-Haul, one that I wouldn't wish upon anyone else. While I had made an advance reservation to pick up a truck at 1:30 PM, I was informed upon arrival that the system was down. What boggled me was the lack of prior communication; a simple call to give me a heads up would have been appreciated. This hiccup not only threw my plans off track, but I also lost the deposit I had paid to another party for a machine pickup.
Time is valuable, and businesses, especially ones like U-Haul, which are intrinsically tied to scheduling, should understand this. The fact that I couldn't complete my project on time due to their internal system issues is frustrating.
It's also important to note the contrast from my past experiences. U-Haul wasn't always like this; I recall better service in previous interactions. I hope this was a one-off incident, but it's enough to make me reconsider using their services in the future.
The location staff was absolutely rude and we're only concerned with closing for day. The trailer we rented had a balled tire and I told the lady that was handling our rental that I was going very far and this trailer was unsafe. She refused to give us an alternative trailer so I disputed the damage during the walk around. The tire ends up exploding while we were driving and almost flipped my vehicle with my family inside. Do not go to UHAUL on Bissonnet they are rude and staff could care less about your safety. They didn't even deserve 1 star
Why call weeks in advance and book a reservation when UHaul can call you just beforr your move to tell you that you have a truck but in a different city, different pick up time. After five phone calls no compensation, (or only what benefits them) and even told at one point sorry i cannot gove you details as our location isnt linked to other uhaul outlets? Save yourself the stress and hastle, extra expense and head ache and go to another agency with better reviews and a concreye service agreement and plan. Moving is stressful enough why deal with an agency that has not improved their service in decades. The same old disorganization and humiliation of having movers and building or rental managers mad at you for uhaul rearranging your pre planned and organized moving goals. Their compensation is laughable and honestly if my honest review gives one other person or family pause to contemplate working with uhaul then at least I can say something -anything good has come out of this awful headache. The staff knowing how u-haul operates should be embarrassed for being associated with and being complicit with an agency that hasn't done a course correct in decades of bad service. Go with all these bad reviews, take it to heart and make your moving experience much more stress free and better organized and probably cheaper. Do not be fooled into thinking a booking or reservation or all your planning will be honored with uhaul
I booked a car hauler in May 2023 for Aug 2023. I wanted to make sure it was correct and went to the location and it was booked incorrectly. Was booked with dropping it off to the location where we were going. It was to be booked for a return to pick-up location. So now there is no trailer available to me. Thanks Uhaul for making this a horrible experience. I have gave you so much business and will no longer will!
I originally scheduled to rent a 20ft truck from a U-haul location near me on July 13th. August 17th two days before I move they call me and tell me I have two options if I want the truck that I scheduled for. Both options are an hour away from me and they would not give me any way of getting the car. I talked to this Regional manager in Illinois named Gabriel. Who said that was the best he could do and did not help me any further than that. I hung up and call the customer service number who found me the exact truck I reserved at a location in my town. I'm pretty sure the regional manager just did not care and did not even want to answer phones. I don't know how you can have an organization that deals with people moving across the country and even around the that just don't try to help. The. Customer service lady that answered, her name was Autumn. She helped me with exactly what I needed and when I told her I was having problems with the regional office in Illinois, she scheduled me for the truck without making me go through them. She's the only reason I gave this company a two instead of a one.
We sol our home. I booked 5 weeks ahead with U Haul. Was told they would have choices. I asked for a 26 ft. I called 2 weeks ahead to re confirm. I was told I would have to go 700 km. To Calgary to pick up truck?! When I said that was impossible, agent got Arrogant. I was flabbergasted. I'm a 71 retired family guy. Name is all you got. Horrible exp.
I waited for 3, hours to be called when my hitch was installed. Tried calling. No luck. Treated rudely
Summary of my nightmare experience with U-Haul:
I went to pick up a trailer I reserved for a Thursday for moving cross-country and went to pick it up and the trailer was broke. Issues with the brake lights and the hitch wouldn't work. So I had to travel to their local main office and I was there for what seemed like forever listening to a couple in front of me were yelling at the service employees on a screw up. No dice at that location. I then had to traveled to a couple more locations to try and find a trailer. Finally got one a couple days later--left early Saturday. Toward the end of the trip, the trailer door kept popping open multiple times. At one point I lost some boxes with some very expensive stuff in it, never found it. So upset, but to make matters worse, I was to start a new job that Monday, but because of all the issues and setbacks with U-Haul, I had to miss my first day at the new job. Never Again--Horrific Experience!
On June 30th i had reserved a truck and car dolly to do my move. The first thing was that the truck and car dolly were not at the same location. That was not a big deal to me. When i had the truck i loaded it up and in that process i found out that my car was not compatible for a car dolly. I rep told me to upgrade to a Auto Transport. This is where the ordeal starts.
The the truck i had was not compatible with an Auto Transport. So i was forced to leave my car where i got the truck which was 2 hours away from my new location. While i was enroute to my new home i made a few calls to the customer service. One of the reps wanted me to leave the truck where i was originally going to drop it off and figure out my own way to get my car, and once the contract was closed dispute the charges. I was not satisfied with that so i called back that customer service rep was helpful he gave me the return 2 hour trip back to where my car was for free.
When i returned the truck i had to put double the amount of gas in it. I had the truck checked in and they had put a $221.00 promissory note on my credit card but the uhaul manager at that location tried to put another charge on my card which i did not approve.
So i went with another call to there Customer Service line and received $103 discount. I thought it was all done then.
A few days later i get a notice that uhaul ran another charge on my card for $183.91so in total they charged me $391 for the truck when the quote was $198. I made many calls and was told on 3 occasions to wait 3 to 4 days for the store manager, area manager to get back to me. The first did not call back but according to the customer service rep he stated to them that i already received a discount. The area manager never called so after all that i was given the District Marketing Executive number and they messaged him.
I received an email from his assistant with a receipt of my $183 being reimbursed, which i thanked her for. But i responded that still does not apply the discount i was originally received all i got was no response from her.
I would recommend anyone need to rent a truck to really research and look at what options you might have out there. Uhaul is not the only choice
I just want to say that Riley & the rest of the staff at this location at Sandy & 122nd are very professional & kind. I've never met such kind costumer service employees. They are wonderful and Riley demonstrates good knowledge of his job. I will go out of my way next time I need U-Haul, to go to this location.
Happy Customer
I have rented from U Haul many times. Their ecquipment whether a utility trailer, cargo trailer or truck has always been a great experience. From initial check in to final drop off customer experience always A-+++! They are always helpful with accessories or safety check and I appreciate that they always do hookup and release. I have traveled many times from state to state across America and locally. They are TOP NOTCH in my book! Keep up the good work people
Moving from one state to another this was a 10 hour drive. U-Haul chose 4 days even though we didn't need that long and did not state that the price was set and would not change if we returned the truck early. We had the truck a day and a half and they charged $700. They didn't say upfront that if we didn't have it 4 days it would still cost this amount and they would not do any adjustments. Do not use U-Haul they will scan you.
Tried to rent a 15' box truck for two days, was told they did not have a 2 day rental truck at the location I selected. They would not move a truck, expected me to pay the extra mileage. The location was further away from where I needed to use it. It was all their way, they couldn't care less about their customers. I told them to stick their truck...
They gave me only enough miles to get from the pick up to drop off locations. They wanted me to drop off 40 miles away, then charged me for the 40 miles. I don't think I have ever been treated as rudely as I was by Louis at u-haul 2001 E. Tamiami Trail, Naples. He is a complete $#*!.
They accepted my reservation for a 6x12 trailer. Then, after a couple days they change the location. OK, I can deal with that, as it wasn't too far away. But I wasn't expecting them to change the trailer to a much smaller 5x8. I find out about this change only when I travel 2.5 hours to get to the pick-up location. 5x8 is far too small for the work I had to do. This is the 2nd time I've had issues with reserving trailers from U-Haul. Never again.
No one ever answers there phone, they transfered my to two diff.cities I never even mentioned wile on hold for 1hour and 12 min.to bad they basically have a monopoly going cuz to move across the country urself u have to use them...then a month later they took 400 dollars out of my acct.without authorization.I recommend anything or anyone else to use...$#*! uhaul
Tried to use the auto check in feature. After MANY ID/DL upload fails, I went to CS. Vehicle was parked in such that I couldn't leave. Staff playing musical chairs with equipment - incompetence EVERYWHERE! Went back to CS for long wait to get alt vehicle which screwed up my timing. Did my work, needed to return minus 2 gallons of gas due to timing. Result - $30 cost up charged to $80+. YOU SUCK!
Answer: Thought it would be cheaper but worst experience ever and they stole lots of $ from me.
Answer: UHAUL IS CHEATING PEOPLE OUT OF THERE MONEY. OVER CHARGES BY CHEATING YOU. There equipment clearly stated rent me $19.99per day. Not $109. Or $126.61. Per day.
Answer: Scammy. Just try leaving a negative review for uhaul itself (not the little mom n pop pickup/dropouts the big company responsible for the bull)...it's impossible
Answer: From my experience I've noticed uhaul only allows you to review the pickup and dropped location and generally where I am at least, those folks are great and helpful. The huge conglomerate running the show is at fault but there seems to be no way to easily review them specifically. They screwed me too and I wondered the same. Maybe some folks had a positive experience but I believe you are correct. Negative reviews are definitely being screened out. Sorry you had a crappy move too.
Answer: I did a complaint online and then called but with the same result, they couldn't find me in their system. I need to wait 24 to 72 hours for the manager to investigate.
