First of all you shouldn't be allowed to say that you get a refund in 21 days, that's a LIE! You take the money and when someone calls to get info you say we don't have anything to do with that you need to call the IRS! I call BS!

Dishonest and poor customer service
April 18, 2021

This is my last year using them. They forced me to pay $60 to file with their deluxe whatever because I had educational expenses. Whatever, at least I'll still get a little extra money by doing this. Nope! They charged an additional $50 for my state taxes as well even though the educational expenses had nothing to do with it (they were for a state that doesn't have income tax and I only moved after finishing school). Thanks to that, I actually ended up losing out by filing with them. If I'd known, I wouldn't have even bothered with the tax credit. Not only that, but the ads for their updates service were constant and their service horrible.

I have used TT for years. I won't use them again. I paid $160.00 to them to file my state and Federal Tax. Because they didn't complete the State tax form correctly I will have to file an amended return. They want to charge me extra to find out what their own mistake was. As long as they don't make mistakes they are great. But, if there is an error you are really just on your own to figure out what the mistake was and how to fix it. One major complaint I have is there is no email address to contact them with your complaints. The only way to contact them is by phone and the person you are connected with does not know anything about filing taxes. I think being unable to voice concerns with the company and getting free genuine help when TT has made a mistake is why their reviews are so low. They really need to make it easier for customers to get the help they need when a mistake has been made.

Forced to pay fee!
April 14, 2021

I have always used turbo tax and never had issues until this year. Obviously with Corona shut down my taxes were way different than usual but when I opened my account profile it always rolls my prior info over so that I only need to edit if there was a change over the year. Ok so easy right? Nope. Turbo wasn't letting me change things so much so that I had to wipe all info and start over after hours of trying. Annoying sure but whatever. After doing everything over Turbo forced me to upgrade and I had to pay $80 (40 for upgrade and 40 for paying fees using return). Never before has it forced me to upgrade. I paid additional $40 to pay upgrade fee with my return because I don't have any money! My income is low already and with the shutdown I made less than before so I'm so frustrated and will find something else for 2022 year.

When on line to get Turbo Tax which I have been using for years. They wanted $70 on the link for Turbo Tax when I go in it was now $80 + another $50 for state when it was apart of the $70 on the link. Talked to customer support which tried to justify the $50 for state. I was told if I bought Turbo Tax from someone other that intuit Turbo Tax it would be included but not thought their official web-site. Ask for a supervisor and was hung up on after being on the 30 minute just wanting to talk to a supervisor. That's after talking to a representative for a hour, by the way told me after all of that before switching me over the supervisors who hung up on me before say anything that she could given me discount. That's after telling me I would have to pay the $50 for that stated tax for an hour. Would happily paid the $70 that was on the site. Bull Sh#t.

We've used TurboTax for years and just to let you know we're no longer using your services because we think you are now a bunch of shameless asxxxholes by making people believe they have to sign up for credit karma in order to finish their tax return!

Bottom line: your tactics are deceitful and dishonest and by the way if I want to sign up for any other services ill sign up on my own! NOT through your piece of s$&t service so take note: when your s$&t company's bottom line starts falling I for one will be glad for you!

There's a lot of stupid people out there but we're not part of that demographic.

In closing, WE don't need nor want to share credit information with anyone we choose not to and by you deceitfully embedding the final step in the filing process stating an entity has to create an account with credit karma (as well as requiring acknowledging of a check box that you agree you share your credit info) is downright shameless and I hope to hell your company goes under soonest... so kiss my $#*!! B$t$HES!

Totally misleading!
April 11, 2021

Turbo tax is definitely a rip off and misleading! They say it's free and have you go through the entire process and waste your time and then say ooops no not free you'll have to pay and then once you pay they charge another $50 for state return! Something needs to be done about this!

I have used in past always happy.
This year they purchased Credit Katma and instead of options of your refund being mailed to you or they direct deposit into your bank now it goes
To credit karma. I was suppose to get an atm card to use and my refund went into an account. This was mid Feb, 2 lost or stolen cards later was asked to wait another 30 days for a third card to be mailed. I asked their customer service where they are and Mike the supervisor said El Salvador. What! My personal info is now in another country. Tried to contact Intuit headquarters internet has wrong number or it's disc. Now I get email today that Turbo tax is billing me for doing my taxes which are delayed due to new law passed by Pres Biden. What! Complete hassle and unprofessional. Will never use again thumbs down

Crap Product
March 31, 2021

I had to take my to a different professional just to be corrected. I did my taxes on the software and ended up owing 7,000 to federal and state. I took it to another professional who ended up having a return. I am so annoyed with the customer service when they sent me in circles and to a link that does not give a response to the request. I will never use this product again and having my 2019 taxes reviewed for possible flaws in that software. Buyer beware and go somewhere else!

I'd give 1 star if I could. It is very disconcerting how I trusted Intuit's TurboTax to do taxes for my family and Turbotax resulted in allocation of much more wages than my wife and I had at the NJ state level when she was working in New York while residing in NJ. The allocation of wages had to be done manually for each state and could easily be overlooked and incorrect. We were surprised TurboTax never fixed this bug. It even has been written about extensively online. When I contacted executive leadership, they had me speak with what they called a TurboTax expert at Intuit who didn't deny what I encountered. These errors were costly to my family and Intuit has made it crystal clear it is my problem and not theirs, their final position is they will do nothing regarding all the money they caused me to lose because of their buggy software.

After their urging since Christmas, I did personal taxes in March but five missing inputs, 2 hours and then 30 minutes with techs, no resolution. Told to file but not e-file but paper filing showed much missing. Tech promised refund dept. would phone me, but no call. Had to internet search to find refund dept. to apply, but site often down and only tapping in internet search would connect. Now my application is "closed" and no refund and promised message to me is way overdue.

Refund Lack of Help
March 23, 2021

I have been using TurboTax for the last 7 years. This is the last year. For the last two years refunds have been late (albeit no fault of their own). However, when you call them, all they told me was to contact IRS. Last year I didn't get refund until November yet they kept sending me notices, when I had signed agreement to have payment deducted from refund. Finally, a female agent made notation and notices stopped being sent. The mistake was made by me yet the notice I got from Turbo Tax was that everything looked great. They should have caught it (health ins. That I could only take one deduction, not both of them). This year I got the live help and when i went to use it, I thought I was but just today I found out I wasn't because I didn't sign the consent form, yet it will be deducted. Today, I was put on hold 5 times because She was asking "them". I thought "she was an expert. Still not a satisfactory answer so I just hung up. I am DONE with Turbo Tax!

I have been using turbotax for several years and never had a problem until now. I have been unemployed for most of 2020 and while filing this year there was questions about stimulus payments that I had included but the software said didn't need to file, for now I get a letter from the IRS saying I owe them 600 more $. I tried to call for some help on the situation and got some call center that sounded like it was in Manila. I always let it slide when I got charged to file " for free " but I am through. If I have to pay someone to fill out out a simple form I may as well pay someone that will be able to solve a problem should one arise. If I could give turbotax zero stars, I would!

For years I have downloaded the Premier edition of TurboTax. This year I was forced to go to the so-called on-line version. Nothing works and I cannot get support from a human being. They have an AI interface that is most unsatisfactory and will never be capable of answering my questions.

User Unfriendly
March 15, 2021

Way too many steps for routine entries. Online help just isn't there. Takes a long time to download their updates almost every time it is rebooted. User is given no clear view of the first three or four pages of the IRS tax forms (must take a long time to search for common things). Phone help takes forever (I just gave up on the waiting). Not clear whether 1099's need to be mailed to IRS. When trying to finalize a return, it put up errors that were blank pages that didn't indicate what they were. Disappointed

Hummm
March 8, 2021

So I wanted to do my 2019 back taxes and realized half way through that I was preparing 2020. Well I didn't have all of my W2's for 2020. The software program let me finish anyway. Without any $ amounts. I shouldn't have to pay because my income was low enough. But I thought that it was weird that the program let me finish without knowing my income. And it gave me a dollar amount that I should get back. Well its been over a month and I haven't seen Jack. I think they are a fraud.

I made the mistake of using Turbo Tax Deluxe 2020 for Windows 10 and it turned out to be a nightmare of Beta junk that required lots of corrections and re-sending. The company admitted in e-mails and phone conversations that they are aware of the issues and are trying to fix them. What a joke! Calling the CS number to speak to a " Tax Expert" was a waste of time because I knew more that their "Expert" and all they know how to do is put customers on hold! Don't waste your money!

Never failed me.
March 5, 2021

I used Turbo Tax in 2020 to file an estate return for an aunt who passed away in late 2019. Easy, fast, efficient. Unfortunately the estate is still in probate and I feared that i would have to file again, money pit.
I put in a call to Turbo Tax on line to speak to someone personally, I was told the wait time, not long, 20 minutes. Within 15 minutes I was on the phone with Robert. He told special care to search all the federal and state tax laws and then assured me that I do not have to file any further taxes for the estate. Big relief. Robert, you are the best. This was on Monday, March 1,2021.
