If you don't believe me check out their reviews on how they tresting their customers. Am a victim of this. They scammed me out of my money... refusing with my money saying it's airlines policy however airlines have confirmed that they issued refund. So do yourself a favor... book directly with airlines. Check out the bad reviews they are getting in Twitter and trust. Pilot. Just awful

No proof whatsoever that I will be getting my money back from flights booked to New Zealand from Australia. When I ring them, they conveniently just give a standard recorded response, then hang up. They've got my money and are not giving it back. Shysters. I cannot provide proof without divulging my privacy. I made a mistake and I won't do it again. I strongly suggest you don't either.

Worst customer service ever, we have canceled our flight to Europe from the USA as the borders are closed due to Covid19. American Airlines confirmed us that they have canceled our booking and refund the money to Trip. Com. Now we are chasing them, fighting with them to get a refund or vouchers.

Terrible experience
June 21, 2020

I intended to book a hotel for June 21-22. That is what I typed into the search bar. The first thing that comes up is a hotel I would like to stay at for a low price! Wow! Gotta have it! I book it without realizing it was for June 22-23. Literally 1 day shift of the dates I needed. I foolishly failed to notice this before booking. I realized after the booking had been confirmed. I tried calling the hotel, and since I booked on the 3rd party app, I would have to speak with the 3rd party, Trip.com. So I call their customer service hotline. They tell me that the cancellation is non-refundable, AND I cant even shift the dates to where I needed them to be, June 21-22. It's quite obvious these customer service reps are all on the other side of the world and have terrible customer service skills. These people are so cheesy and say the same things to you over and over without actually trying to solve your problem, making Trip.com just a terrible company for training its employees that way. I asked to speak to the manager, and I was told she would call me in 30 minutes. 30 minutes go by, no call. I call back and they know who I am at this point cause Ive called them 5 times already trying to get my money back! OR at least shift the dates to where I needed them to be... Makes no $#*!ing sense that I cannot do either of those things within 24 hours of booking... I just NEED my money back! What the $#*!?

I booked with them way before the virus started for a one night stay In NY before a flight to Africa that I was going one the next day and that flight was canceled. I called them because of the virus and the canceled flight and they said they would check with their supplier. I just wanted to rebook for another time. I sent them documentation that my flight was canceled and after some time, they wrote back saying my request could not be honored. It's pretty bad when the rest of the United States is working with everybody that this company would act this way. Go with a better company when booking because this company won't help you.

These scam artists need a class action lawsuits against them. My wife booked airline tickets through them round trip from NY to Japan. Less than 10 seconds after booking she noticed an error on the tickets by with the flight dates. She called them immediately to get the dates changed and they told her 90% of the ticket price was the charge for the change and 10% can go towards a new ticket. Our family lost over $2000 USD from these crooks in less than 10 minutes. From reading all these reviews they need to have legal actions brought against them. Took our money and ran. If the 197 negative reviews all had a minimum of 2k (as in our circumstance) that would be $394,000 stolen from customers. Doesn't that entitle them prison time or something? I know a Chinese company bought out the original Trip.com and moved it to Chinese shores, but come-on, this is a bit much. Total thievery.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I found a mistake on the date right after I hit the button and contacted to them, trying to change the date. No change accepted, no refund either. I ended up paying $1000 for nothing! Bad service...

Do NOT EVER use this site. I have experimented with a few online booking companies and this was the ONLY one that was truly a scam. It showed up more than the others and seemed to be trustworthy. I booked 2 nights near the site of my business travel and showed up before 6 PM. The hotel had no record of my booking. I was shocked (and the clerk was the most unfriendly gal I had encountered so I thought maybe she had something to do with this). I gave my confirmation # first and she dismissed me again. Then I showed the email. I saw a number to call and was able to talk with someone. I had to ask several times where the rep was located. When she said China, I knew I had made a grave mistake. She had me wait on hold to find out what had happened, then told me I had given the wrong name on the booking (how was that as I put in my credit card number with my name as well) and then told me that the hotel had cancelled my reservation. She then put me on hold to find out what could be done. I heard the clerk on the phone spelling my name and the clerk said there were no other rooms available. A while later, the Chinese rep said she would investigate with the IT dept on whether the mistake was my fault or not. Then she said she would try to find another booking for me. Another long hold and she stated there were no other rooms available at all. When I was able to get online again, I checked and found several places available -- thankfully! She said it would take hours to find another hotel. Thankfully, I did not have to depend on them! What a NIGHTMARE! They should be shut down. Can they be blocked from showing up in search results? This is criminal!

I was housesitting for my parents, they needed a caretaker, they were coming back so I booked a hotel, my mother got injured and could not travel, so they needed a housesitter caretaker again, I go to move my reservation to the next week thinking I'll get banged up for one or two days. They took the whole week, all of my money. This fee structure should be illegal, I am writing to my state rep my federal housewrap and my state senator to tell them of the predatory practices of this company and that if there's any business before the commerce committee of the house or the senate based on fraudulent business practices that this business should be on the list

Nobody Should use this service, it is not a service, it is a scam if anything happens and you need to change anything they will take all of your money

Never booking with this company again! Getting such conflicting information regarding my flights. Airline cancelled due to covid, got in touch with consumer service at least three times and they said that they were still scheduled. I called the airline who confirmed they were cancelled and told me I'd get a travel credit which would be valid until August 2021 for any flights with that airline. Two weeks later trip.com email to say the flight was cancelled. I called and they tell me that they will put in the request for the travel credit. They email me to tell me I can't get a travel credit but only an open ticket until Dec 2021. So I call to get that done and then they email me telling me it's only valid until January 3rd 2021. None of the customers service staff are on the same page. Absolutely shocking

I was supposed to fly from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne on the 21st of March, but Malaysia introduced a travel ban that banned all Malaysians from travelling abroad on the 18th of March. Despite not being able to leave the country, I was not given an option to refund or reschedule my flight. Customer service line was incompetent and unhelpful. AirAsia was willing to provide refund in the form of store credits but because I had booked through trip.com, I wasn't entitled for this refund. I don't usually leave reviews, but this situation really showed terrible handling fo the situation by Trip.com. Terrible service, won't be buying from trip.com ever again.

First off, hasn't the world learned in the last few months what everyone in China is doing? If you deal on eBay, look at the feedback from Chinese sellers! YEP! If your buying ANYTHING from China, your fueling the problem. The feedback here is 1.?% overall rating. The question mark is because it's getting worse daily. If you didn't know, NOW YOU DO!
Secondly, some crooked f**k nabbed my debit card number, THATS CHIPPED FOR EXTRA PROTECTION, and was able to book a trip on this corruptazzfkk site WITHOUT THE SECURITY CODE AND EXPIRATION DATE! So,... after cancelling my card, I called customer service. Same Chinese dude answers ALL the countries numbers. He says his name is "7". There ya go. The whole site, EVERYONE EMPLOYED is a crook! The smartazz number 7 told me to "call the cops", then snickered. Guess we'll see how long they stay in business once they've stolen enough that no country will allow doing business with them AND ANY CHINESE OWNED COUNTRY!

Imagine booking a flight home which gets cancelled by the airline, then you try to rebook it 4 times being denied every time. So you requests a refund and they charge you a cancellation fee for it and refuse to refund YOU... Then the supervisor Sidhaartha will not answer the phone to you after you have been trying to sort the issue for 3 months only with the excuse, sorry we cannot refund you your money of the cancelled flight and we will be keeping the cancellation fee from the flight that got cancelled on you. This is the service I have received from trip.com

I have had the same terrible service as everyone else here it seems - Booked the flight - COVID happened - Can no longer fly so need to change or cancel the flight - Many airlines now are offering travel credits or refunds to those affected, so appealed to trip.com to make a cancellation and they have come back with all of the following:
- Airline won't offer a refund.
- Template email responses that don't have any relation to the topic.
- "We don't know the airline policy" despite it being on their website.
- "Contact the airline" knowing that customer service teams will only tell you to call the agent again.

The good news is, once your initial booking is made, the airline holds the money and the ticket, not trip.com. Trip.com are supposed to be calling their account managers within the airlines for guidance on airline policies. Obviously they are not doing that. But YOU can.

Contact the airline and explain the push back you are getting from trip.com. Make sure the operator writes good notes on your file. The airline has the overall administrative control of your flight tickets and they are able to make changes or cancellations in circumstances where the agent (Trip.com) aren't doing their job properly.

I hope this helps.

To any new travelers - avoid trip.com like the plague. For anyone looking for a refund. Good luck.
