Flyer beware
May 5, 2023

Flying post pandemic has been interesting especially with the decline in service from the airline industry. With the post pandemic rules, flyers will need to be aware of all the booking changes. My experience with trip.com on Wednesday opened my eyes especially in this economy where inflation is at an all time high. The majority of us fly for leisure so it's not a necessity and the industry is saturated with booking sites. Which means it's competitive. As a consumer, make sure you read the fine print before booking. You could cancel a non-refundable ticket within 24hrs pre-pandemic, now you can't even cancel in minutes of you book with trip.com. You can't even make a change bc they will take the money for the booking then make you purchase another ticket. There's no way around it. Secondly, the fare appears to be cheaper but they're not. You end up paying more with all the additional fees so do yourself a favour and AVOID trip.com. There are a plethora of sites with much better customer friendly polices and far better customer service. You might as well book through the airline directly. The agent Jana accused me of using profanity and insisted I did. She was clearly using the wrong script because the conversation did not go the way she expected. The supervisor was just as bad as the staff. At the end of it, no resolution. They will be hearing from me regarding my $400 they kept and was quite proud to say yep they'll be taking the funds and spliting it with the airline.

Very disappointing to say their service seems very poor in response. Booked a ticket with correct passenger details and system misspelled the name and when called the customer service they demanded £57.5 for correction. While I was waiting for the amendment to be on the ticket they asked me to send a request to change gender too which was again not my fault. Now I am still waiting for the amendments to be made on the reservation and it is still not amended. Last 2 days I have been speaking to Ms. Lym, Mr. Dolan, Mr. Shen, Ms. Shalabi, Mr. Muhamed and they refuse to help, instead they ask to contact the airline to make the changes. It is totally unethical to charge and refuse the service. The booking through Trip.com is a nightmare that I had to spend hours behind the phone calling customer service and there is no luck in getting updated. So be careful before booking with Trip.com, the rate may be cheap but you are inviting the trouble.

Booked flight with them. Got 1 ticket instead of
2. Never seen booking number of second ticket.
They claim they booked it and airline canceled.
But I checked just after 5 mins after they say tickets issued. Spend 5 hours with support and 2 days. No resolution. You better pay a bit more and use other service. Not recommend to anyone, don't waste your time. Support is highly trained though

Do not book through Trip.com! They are a 3rd party booking site and the Hotels can circumvent the booking! We booked our Hotel stay more than 2 months before we were scheduled to arrive and our booking got cancelled! Trip.com said we are sorry for you inconvenience...is there anything else we can help you with? REALLY?!

I bought an outbound and return ticket from Brussels to Tehran from them, and due to an unexpected problem, I had to change the date of my outbound ticket urgently. Following the policy of the ticket that I had bought, I tried to change my ticket through their website/app but the prices that their website was suggesting me were unrealistically more expensive than other websites for the same flight! I tried to call them several times but I was kept on hold for very long time and finally could not succeed to speak to anybody! So, I bought a ticket from another website, but with the same airlines (Turkish airlines) and traveled to Tehran. This is my first complaint from them. However, my second complaint is even more serious: since I did not use my outbound flight, it was automatically cancelled. When I was coming back to Brussels on 24.Apr, at Tehran airport I unexpectedly realized that my return ticket has been cancelled too! That was very strange because I had checked my flight on their app and it was shown that my flight is on schedule and my name was being shown as a registered passenger! But when I was checking in my luggage at the airport, the person at the counter could not find my name in the passenger list of the flight! Therefore, I had to buy another last-minute ticket for the same flight with a very high price!
I have raised this complaint to them hoping that they would compensate the price of my return flight because it happened to me due to the misinformation on their app. But THEY HAVE NEVER REPLIED TO ME SO FAR!
I checked everything on the app several times before the flight and it was showing my name in the flight without any issue while my name was NOT on the list of the airlines itself!
Therefore, I strongly recommend to NOT to trust their service and I WILL NEVER BUY A TICKET FROM THEM EVEN IF IT IS MUCH CHEAPER THAN OTHER PROVIDERS!

My experience with trip.com was absolutely terrible. The so-called "manager," Celine, was shockingly uneducated and incompetent, unable to provide even the most basic level of service. As a result, I missed not one, but two flights, causing me to waste a significant amount of time and money.

To make matters worse, the staff at trip.com were completely unresponsive to my needs and seemed to have no idea how to handle the situation. They were uneducated, unprofessional, and completely unable to provide the support I needed as a customer.

In the end, I had to pay a great deal of money to another institute just to make the necessary changes to my flights, despite the fact that trip.com was supposed to be handling all of this for me. It was a complete waste of my time and money, and I would strongly advise anyone considering using trip.com to look elsewhere for their travel needs.

Overall, my experience with trip.com was a complete disaster, and I would give them the lowest possible rating for their uneducated and incompetent staff, terrible customer service, and complete lack of professionalism.

We booked twice through Trip.com over the space of 3 weeks. Each booking had 3 flights each. Trip.com did not leave enough transit time between flights meaning we missed the second and third flight on both occasions. Prior to the second booking, I messaged the company and said the transit time wasn't enough and can we please cancel the flight and receive a refund. They insisted it would be enough time and that I wasn't allowed to cancel or receive a refund. They said take the flight anyway. We trusted them and tried. Exactly as I had told them, there wasn't enough transit time and they refuse to take responsibly for both bookings. We had to book to more flights on the spot, costing us thousands of dollars. It has been a nightmare trying to sort this out and it still isn't sorted. We will never use this company and will make our opinions very clear to others. Avoid this company!

No need to worry about booking on trip.com.
I was actually surprised to see my round-trip round trip charge.
So fares were very low compared to other sites.
When I checked the booking reference given on trip.com on the website of the airline I was going to travel with, I was not able to find it.
But after two days I was able to found.

After purchasing flight tickets with extra baggage from Trip.com; leaving Ireland on the 17th of May and returning on the 22nd - I received emails and receipts for a return flight on the 18th of May. Apparently I was put through for a trip to Barcelona lasting less than 24 hours. I contacted trip.com by both email and phone within the next 2 hours only to receive an email the next morning saying I did select the 18th of May when I in fact, did not. I am being told I went through the entire process of booking a flight with extra luggage and paying for added insurance and not once noticed it was a return in less than 24 hours. Not only is the date not what I picked, the flight times are also not what I chose. This is a total consumer rights violation. The company is refusing to give a refund and has not offered a solution to this issue; they are saying it was my error in order to keep the money which I know hasn't even hit the accounts of the airline company yet. The tickets have not been received by trip.com or myself only the receipts and flight confirmations with the incorrect information showing they have quite a lot of time to amend the error if they cared enough to do so; they clearly don't. I will be in consistent contact with trip.com over the next few weeks before I get my bank to intervene - I will then be taking this further.

My advice to flight bookers? Use trip.com to look at flights going and coming from where you want - then go straight to that airlines website and book through them as they are clearly more reliable. Trip.com is out to make a quick buck and will not amend or help when they make an error.

My recent experience with Trip.com was very bad

First I received a confirmed booking of the hotel - asking me to very clearly "nothing for you to do, here is a confirmatuon"

Then the day of my flight I received 2 calls from an unknown number (which I did not pickup), while I picked it up the third time - when I was at the airport saying "your booking is not confirmed"

I replied "sure book me something similar and around the beach "

What followed was the most ridiculous Custoemr service experience, where all the suggestion were very far from the beach

I got annoyed and called the hotel myself to do the booking (they confirmed me 5 days instead of 6)

I started chatting with Trip.com guys and went ahead with that booking after they promised that they will pay me the difference

At this point I was in the flight and boarded.

Multiple bookings meant my credit card was maxxed out and also that I did not have my 6th night booking.

I landed in Thailand and got and email saying that they will NOT pay any compensation and a rudimentary calculation saying they would cover only the difference

I spoke with manager and then the hotel and then with manager and finally extended my 6th night booking myself

Trip.com agreed to pay the difference and said they will add a compensation of 1000-1200RM, this after it was clear that this is a worthless waste of an entire day and it should not even have been negotiated ad it was about 1 day hotel charges + all the time they wasted.

Had they proposed this, maybe it would have been fine but they made unnecessary negotiations and wasted more of my time

I will be making sure I share this review every place I possibly can

I booked a flight and realised it was the wrong one in a matter of minutes. I immediately called Trip.com to cancel it for a refund and got no help whatsoever, even though I had just booked it. It's not at all reasonable to say that there are no refunds in a situation that was clearly a mistake during the booking and I immediately called so it could be fixed.

Bad customer service

I purchased train tickets to Busan from Seoul from trip.com but unfortunately I missed my train due to some unavoidable issues. I contacted them to ask if I could get a refund or exchange for the tickets but they said no. If I bought my tickets from Korail, I would be able to get a refund. I am very disappointed with trip.com and will never ever use their service. I suggest everyone not to purchase anything from their website.

Flight has been cancelled 3 times now but no one take responsibility, I call Air China they are bouncing me back to trip.com when I call Trip.com they say that they can't do anything,
I am still stranded in Manila, no one is there to answer or help
Perhaps they are one of the worst companies to deal with if anything goes wrong with your journey, never again

After many many painful months of sending emails, showing no ticket was attached, they are still sending me emails stating the opposite. They refuse to fund my £50.00 spent obtaining a ticket at the airport.

The only peace of mind I have is from reading their latest reviews, which are all very shocking, with more major complaints compared to mine.

I hope you guys have better luck than me.

Save yourself money, hassle and time, DO NOT USE.
