Booking through Trip.com was one huge mistake that I will never make again.

Although their customer service representatives were friendly enough over the phone, any changes you want to make to your flights require you to file "itinerary change requests" which take several hours to process (i. E. you can't just log-in and change something instantly like you would when dealing with an airline directly). Any changes I tried to make to my recent booking (online, via the app, or over the phone -- I tried all three) took several hours to process during which time the seats I was trying to book were sold leaving me, essentially, screwed.

In short, their customer service is ineffective and their policies are incredibly restrictive. I would NEVER book through them again.

Had the worst experience in my life. Informing the client that their reservation was cancelled 30 minutes before checkin is very in appropriate. The hassle and the stress if brought is really not acceptable. In addition to it, despite cancelling the booking and giving the refund for the cancellation, a compensation was promised to be recieved 15 days after the trasaction. Everytime a follow up message was given, the date seemed to be pushed farther from the said deposit day. Now they said to wait for 30 days.

Although the customer service replies a bit promptly (with in a day or two), kindly make better your services to avoid incidences like this. Likewise, do not propose compensations that you cannot deliver promptly. Resources for this kind of hassle is not easy to obtain.

The service does not deserve even 1 star for that matter. Really the worst.

Trip.com is a scam
December 27, 2019

Trip.com is a scam. I purchased a hotel and prepaid. The day before I was traveling they sent an email that said it was canceled. I called and Louis told me he did not know why it was canceled and there was nothing he could do about it. He said they are based in Hong Kong and do not have to abide by American laws and regulations.

Buyer be aware. This company needs to close down.

They charged us $345 for an early cancelation because we had noticed there was a 1 letter typo on the ticket name. They made us wait 1 week to validate they could not change the name on the ticket and told us to cancel and find another flight and still charged us $345 for the cancelation after telling us to wait. They just want your money they dont care how they get it. Dont use this company it is scammy, thieving, and absolutely deserves every explitive in the English and American English dictionary.

Horrible customer service
December 23, 2019

Staff does not speak fluent English, which makes it difficult to communicate - rang them a few times to buy priority boarding and received bunch of useless e-mails, nobody had a clue what I wanted and e-mail responses where one line long with no explanation just to brush the problem off. Very disappointed and never experienced customer service at a bottom level like this.

Worst agent
December 20, 2019

This worst agent I have ever use, disorganised, no credibility and unhelpful.

Please don't use trip.com in future.

I booked a return trip with them. I had to keep checking with Airline. Agent did not send any updates like very bad unacceptable changes.

When I found changes myself I had to educate customer service.

Each time different person dealing the same issue. There is no continuity. So they keep asking me the same question.

Agent and Cathay Airline kept passing the ball. I think work together to put their customers in trouble. Only concern is their dollar value.

Hope others will learn from my ordeal.

Don't use trip.com
December 20, 2019

They sent a double name wrong to the flight carrier. After a lot of discussions and emails with them they said that they changed the name on the ticket but they didn't. They changed only the reservation for the ticket, didn't know that there is a distinction. So until the day before the flight all seemed to be ok until we tried to check in and found out that the name on the ticket is still wrong. When talking to them they said they changed it and everything is correct but the wrong name is still on the ticket. For changing the name they sent an email in the middle of the night with a link valid for one hour.

Avoid trip.com
December 11, 2019

Will never use again. They misspelled my wife's name then refused to correct it. Basically they stole $800. There was no solution to the problem, no refund, no help. We had to buy a new ticket through the airline.

Cancelled trip
December 9, 2019

I booked and cancelled my trip within 10 minutes and they charged me USD $501.00 for a refund fee. When I called to ask why they charged me, they said it's because I didn't call them but instead cancelled the flight myself. But there was no such notice or clear/easily visible writing that stated this. This is seems highly unfair and ethically questionable. I have never had this issues before and find it insane that they would charge me that much. Also, customer service was rude, they kept trying to blame me for the issue-- one representative lied to me and told me I cancelled an hour after I booked, and I had to send proof that this was not the case. I would highly recommend booking with another company

BIG SCAM SCAM SCAM
December 6, 2019

DO NOT BOOK anything thru Trip.com they trick you with getting a room at a cheaper price and exclusive room availability (even when the hotel your booking says theyre fully booked). They will ask you to pre-pay your room using a credit card. They'll charge your credit card or deduct the amount on your account if you use debit card, then they'll call to say the room is not available etc. We'll refund your payment within 10days.

DO NOT BOOK thru Trip.com because they are one big fraud.

December 2, 2019

I booked a flight with them from Bangkok to Toronto. 24 hours before my flight they cancel it. I call to ask for my options they tell me I only have two options wait 4 days for another flight or wait 10 business days to get a refund. I ask the rep Jessica how she would feel if someone gave me those options and this disrespectful woman told me if she was me she wouldnt be travelling with no money! I have money its not the point who cancels someones flight 24 hours before and gives them a refund in 10 business days with no compensation, im sure Im not the only one who sees thatsnot right! Wth

I have used Ctrip for several years now (okay, only 2016-2019). Finally fed up with how the internal system works with their app and site. This is mostly with international flights; all mainland Chinese flights are actually very good. The international flights are given with a very cheap choice as the first one. You click on it and fill out the information. Then towards the paying portion, it says oops, the choice is no longer available. Then it shows the same ticket for a more expensive price. Then do the same process. If quick enough then you might make it to the paying screen where it says you reserved the ticket, but then it will still pop up saying you have to go back and forces you go back to the ticket options. Then it either says the 5 tickets left option of the same ticket from before or just disappear, forcing you to choose the more expensive normal priced ones. Now while doing this on one device, I check it on another device and it will start with the lowest price option again with the same first low price. Suck a cookie scam. Regular users of the app will be affected the most. (Sorry I don't have a good enough picture. Got screen videos though)

TERRIBLE SITE
November 13, 2019

I have an absolutely terrible experience with trip.com. After booking and confirming my date TWICE, I looked in the confirmation email and it showed a different date. I assumed their was a glitch in the system and gave them a call. They said no refunds or returns and wouldn't do anything to make it right. They took my money and scammed me. Never book with trip.com!

DO NOT USE THEM!
November 12, 2019

Do not use this service as they are not trustworthy and liars that do not take responsibility for errors. Book a hotel through a search for a hotel in one location with the search bringing up all the hotels in my location and one placed in the mix that was on the other side of the U.S. I booked that hotel thinking that it was in the appropriate area of my search. After paying and discovering the search was wrong on the part of the third party site, I contacted the hotel which clearly stated Trip.com only had the authority to cancel the reservation only to find that trip.com stated the hotel was the authority. I made 5 calls to trip.com with 4 hang ups and then reached a representative that could barely speak English. Was told they would check with the hotel, a bold face lie so placed a hold on payment with my credit card! Trip.com had refused to take responsibility for the problem! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE AS IT IS UNRELIABLE AND A SCAM! DO NOT

I participated in an event held by trip.com earlier and the winning prize is an iPhone.
I happened to discover the first place is an IP theft stealing information online and is their employee (or i should say suspected to be, that trip.com cant even proof that he or she is not their employee). The content of the first place does not even relate to the campaign. But the company still shields that and keeps changing the campaign rule for the 1st place.
trip.com refused to provide me prompt feedback and even misused my personal information to deal with that matter.

A true NIGHTMARE
November 12, 2019

I'm in the middle of a true nightmare with flight tickets I bought via Trip.com.

If you are planing to buy flight tickets from them (a very bad idea), you have to consider this:

1. Trip.com's online booking system is limiting passenger's name to 25 characters max. If your 3 names in summary are longer than that, your middle name will be truncated on the ticket.

2. They don't issue separate tickets for each passenger, we are a couple and we got a single ticket for both of us.

So what happened is that I found information that the airline will not allow us on board with incomplete middle name (only my wife's name was truncated, mine was OK). I contacted the airline and they confirmed that they will not let my wife on board.

What's more interesting is that the airline not only refused to change the name for free, but also required double payment for name amendment for 2 persons, not 1, because it's a double ticket, not 2 separate tickets.

I tried to resolve the case by contacting Trip.com's support probably 50 times, via emails and online chat, and not only they didn't do anything (other than the standard "we are very sorry"), but also it seems they totally failed to understand what the problem is. Finally I informed them that I'm planing to take a legal action against them and a member of their support team called me on the phone, saying "But when we did your reservation it was successful"

Unfortunately it seems we will not be able to use the tickets we paid for:(

So please be very careful if you decide to deal with them. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
