I pulled up a one night stay on trip advisor, I clicked through to Travel Up. I booked the room. I then freaked out because it was the wrong date! I couldn't believe I made a mistakeā¦I quickly emailed the company to cancel. Then I went back to the TripAdvisor app and realized I DID have the correct dates, when I went to the website it changed the dates. I rebooked through TravelUp the correct date. They want to charge me a cancellation fee for the wrong Res :(

The reason for a cancellation/change fee is we book through our suppliers and there is always a fee for changes as the rates are different and suppliers will charge us for cancellation.

On Monday I received the message

On Tuesday when I went to the airline site they informed me that the reservation number provided was incorrect. I called and was told to call back on Wednesday. Wednesday morning THE DAY BEFORE THE FLIGHT! I received the following:
Dear Ms. WALSTEAD,
Please be advised by the time your payment was verified the fares were withdrawn due to which we are unable to issue your tickets so we will refund the whole amount back on the same card and you will receive that in three working days. Kindly acknowledge us back that you have received the email so that the refund could be processed.

I get to this webpage through Trivago.com. Among all the others options, Travel Up has the best price; even best price than the hotel webpage. The process was fast, easy and all charges were detailed. We definetely has all the information required before taking a decision.
Although it was very easy to book through TravelUp, I never received a confirmation email regarding my reservation, which is concerning.

DO NOT USE TRAVEL UP! This is the worst experience i ever had for booking a hotel through TravelUp! After making the booking i received the confirmation for the hotel booking, then later i called the hotel, they couldn't see my booking, travel up told me everything is fine i just need to wait few days to reflect. A week later I received a email asking about my nationality to know then that my reservation cannot be confirmed because i am not a US or UK citizen! What a discrimination is this! There is nothing mentioned about that during the reservation! Why they took the money then! Where in the world a hotel booking on any travel site ever can be made for a specific nationality and not to another! I've never seen that anywhere in the world!

Unfortunately, this particular hotel has different rates for non US/UK citizens; it has nothing to do with TravelUp. You have booked through a US source site which is why this has not been picked up straight away. However we are glad to see that the booking has now been refunded in full.

Made a booking in good faith to stay in Glasgow city centre in November. Got an email to say it was cancelled and I could have alternative accommodation in Loch Lomond. My conference is in Glasgow so had no desire to stay there. Due to the popularity at this time there are now no rooms available anywhere in Glasgow without paying 4 times the price. Very angry, I paid in full and thought I would have a room for two nights. The explanation given was hotel was relocating, lot of rubbish as I have looked into it. Think they cancelled so they could resell at higher price.

As explained by our agents to you numerous times, we have to wait for our supplier to get back to us regarding your refund as they are holding the funds with the hotel.
These processes can take a lengthy amount of time, especially if the supplier is being slow, mostly due to Covid-19.
