Travelocity Reviews Summary

Travelocity's reputation is predominantly marred by negative customer experiences, particularly concerning their customer service and refund policies. Many customers express frustration over poor communication, lack of support, and difficulties in obtaining refunds for canceled bookings. Complaints often highlight unexpected fees, miscommunication regarding rental agreements, and unfulfilled service promises. While a few reviews mention competitive pricing, the overwhelming sentiment suggests that the potential savings are overshadowed by the company's perceived dishonesty and inadequate service. Overall, customers advise caution when considering Travelocity for travel arrangements, emphasizing a lack of trust in the company's practices.

Will not use again
December 15, 2017

All details pertaining to deposits were not available on their site... and were only generally referenced with no specifics to alert the customer. Of course, both blamed the other and the bottom line is that no refunds... means no refunds - no matter what. I had used them before and still consider them a great site for research, but I'll never book through them again.

I have always had a great experience with Travelocity. I usually always book last minute and when I do I always get the best rates. I have also recommended this service to my customers as well.

Not what you expect
December 5, 2017

I travel allot and see their "Excellence" award facilities and stay in many of them with utter disappointment. Be careful when you use only Travelocity's award. The best reference is you or someone you know. This site is a bit bogus.

Great
December 3, 2017

I used Travelocity for my families trip to D. C. we stayed with a family member so we didn't book any hotel rooms using the app but we did use it to book our flights. I thought it was great only thing is every time you open the app you have to re-enter your criteria for your flight (destination, number of people, price range, etc.), but I didn't mind. I did play with the hotel option as well because we had a group of 9 so we thought of staying in a hotel part of the time. It had also been help full for finding places to eat. I will use this in the future when we go on trips. I already use it at home when we cant decide where to go eat.

Travelocity provides the best deals, great hotel packages & Google maps to very hotel location. Customer support is punctual & efficient. Hotel & flight prices seem cheaper through them than most other sites.

I try to book my next family vacation, after I hit submit I became aware of 2 mistakes on my vacation package, the first one was my own mistake (I misspell my wife name), the second one was a change on return flight that I did not select.

I spend 3 hours trying to fix the return flight, even getting new tickets through American, Travelocity refused to refund the cost of the original return tickets So I decide to cancel the package.

Even they have a 24 hour no fee cancellation policy (including American Airlines) I was left with $1200. 00 dollars to pay on my credit card. 2 month later I am still fighting the charges. I will never do business with Travelocity again.

Fraudelent company
November 3, 2017

I bought air tickets to Europe, but was denied baurding pass
Because I allegedly made a mistake in writing the name of my daughter. They also refused to give me refund of $3,000. I had to sue them and the airline(Delta) to get the money back. This is the outright criminal company.

Three of us traveled from Chicago to Dublin and Dublin to Pisa, Italy. We booked out Chicago to Dublin flight with Travelocity. Our flight from Dublin to Pisa was with a European airline. On our return trip from Pisa, our flight was delayed by 6hrs 5min. When we were told of the delay we immediately contacted Travelocity to change our flight. Not only would they not change our flight they stated we had used all of the value of the airline ticket when we flew from Chicago to Dublin and there was no value left in our return flight. They refused to allow us to change our flight and we paid out of pocket for another flight. This is completely pathetic customer service. I would NEVER ever book with Travelocity again. Pathetic! Also I gave one star as there is no option for no stars.

I choose them for hotels and tickets - fast and secure. However, it's not 5 star as you never can get in touch when you have questions regarding their service

Shoddy Service
October 27, 2017

My family and I booked a two night stay in NJ through travelocity. Whatever their procedure is suppose to be was not followed through. When we got to the hotel that evening we were told there were no vacancies for the next night. As everyone was exhausted we stayed that night and were assured another hotel could accomodate us the next day. We had 3 rooms reserved and for the next day we specifically asked tha t the hotel be of the same caliber or more. We were very disappointed when we arrived at the second hotel to find "questionable characters" standing outside hotel room doors and a woman lying in bed with the door open. The hotel was run down with curtains falling from the windows and the lobby looked as if it would have been right at home on skid row. As well we were across the street from a runway. When we call Travelocity back to request another hotel we were told there was an event and the closest hotel was 40 miles away. We had paid already and requested a refund as the website states. We were told to ask at the front desk about the refund. After speaking with the hotel we were told there were no refunds because of the timing of cancellation. Speaking with Travelocity again we were told "Sorry it is up to the hotel if the will return the money or not". I explained that this was originally their fault for the reservation that was mistakenly made and they forgot to forward the paperwork to the 1st hotel where thereby leaving us blindsided as to the 2nd night stay in the first place. I spoke with the hotel clerk who informed us to not use travelocity "as they lie to people all the time and it is best to contact the hotel directly". We were able to retrieve payment for two of the rooms. We love traveling as a family but we will surely never, no not ever use Travelocity again.

I have been a customer of Travelocity for a number of years and last week I purchased a round-trip ticket with a hotel and a guaranteed cancellation fee. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my hotel, It was the worst hotel I have ever seen. However not only Travelocity could not honor their so-called Insurance (or fake insurance for $34), they could not even give me a voucher to be used for a different flight on a different day. The customer service in the Philippines and they will never give you money back. I called Travelocity and was told that they had to get permission from the hotel to give me a refund and they, of course, said no. I will not use Travelocity again. Why add a layer that when there is a problem they point at each other.

Better to call direct
October 20, 2017

I use travel sites like Travelocity to get hotel names and numbers, but have found if I call the hotel direct and ask for a promotion, I get a better rate than Travelocity.

I have saved on car rentals, hotel stays and airline tickets recently. I do not have the funds to travel much so when I do I need to find deals. I have searched competitor sites but always find the best deals here. Last minute deals were excellent! I highly recommend it!

My recent flight was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma. It took several hours on the phone to get the amount credited back to me (to be used within one year for another flight). Today I tried to use that credit. Another hour and a half on the phone and I find out that I can only use the credit on certain select flights (which of course are rotten travel times). I will never use Travelocity again (and I am a long time customer). This is the first problem I've had, but it has been handled very badly.

Hotel refunds
September 8, 2017

Needed to cancel our reservation since we left Florida a day earlier. I was Able to cancel, but would still be charged $117. Called Travelocity spoke to Josh who took care of this issue. Since cancellations happen for good reason they don't care unless you get a good agent on the phone. Also, hotels do not get involved and direct you back to Travelocity.

Don't use travelosity
August 29, 2017

I recieved a bill on my credit card for an exorbitant amount just to fly to Florida. What got me was they used a local travel agency which I was unaware of. I had to change my flight so they charged me an extra $300.
Then when I was trying to understand they put a man on the phone with a Thick foreign ascent. I keep telling him to tr to spell it and even that was awful. How can you understand. So he put me on a permanent hold. Never again
