Horrendous service!
April 19, 2019

I recently applied for a new car lease and could not get approved because TransUnion - WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE- placed a "suppression" on my account. The only way to get the suppression lifted is to snail mail a copy of your social security card to them. Seriously? In 2019? You will speak to India to several clueless operators who ask you the same questions over and over then still can't help you. I am a tax paying American citizen with excellent credit and this had been an absolute NIGHTMARE! BEWARE!

This clearly out of the 3 reporting agencies is the most inadequate. I really have to wonder if they even know what they are doing. One day they jump my score 43 points because I paid off a credit card. A few days later they drop it 42 with no explanation. Nothing to indicate why it dropped. I've had this kind of stuff happen so many times it's ridiculous. I filed a dispute, they said it would be answered in so many days. Well I would say 6 months is a little over the time limit. I think they need to get their act together and stop abusing our credit scores. I wish I could block them but that's not an option. Kind of scary that our credit I'd in the hands of such an inept company.

Stay AWAY.

Charged my 19$ without my consent when I signed up for their FREE CREDIT MONITORING! Cancelling service is super hard to find on their website. Credit karma does all this for free.

Worse in Customer Service -
September 12, 2016

After making ten calls and writing 2 letters to TransUnion.com, the company has proven to be the worse agency when it comes to addressing customer issues. 1). The call center is not in the U.S. so there was a slight problem in understanding the call center agent and the agent's ability to understand U.S. English. I had to repeat account numbers several times and had to re-verify my information after being transferred to various departments. 2). In dealing with ten different agents, and supervisors, it is obvious that the staff is poorly trained. A simple problem of updating the account number of an existing credit card number based on the dispute letter I had submitted, resulted in TransUnion removing a 20 year account that caused my Credit Score to drop from 798 to 779.3). Managers and agents became defensive when I told them that TransUnion had caused the problem and one manager transferred me to a "ghost" extension after I asked to speak to his manager. 4). The SAD and SCARY thing is that several companies use data reported by TransUnion in their credit decisions. 5). When you Google TransUnion you will find similar complaints like" "Customer service is sooo horrible." "Worst credit reporting company ever!" 6). I purchased Credit Monitoring from all 3 Credit Reporting Agencies to monitor my credit, and fix any errors, for the mortgage that I plan to obtain in 2017 and TransUnion has consistently proven to be the worse company to deal with. Anyone interested in obtaining their FREE CREDIT REPORT as mandated by the government can go
https://www.annualcreditreport.com. Site has been set up by the big three credit reporting agencies in the United States, to furnish free annual credit reports, as required by federal law.

I called to get an explanation of why the Experian and Equifax scores were not updating. Frustrated with my lack of understanding, the "customer service" rep actually caught an attitude like a high school girl, and then subsequently HUNG UP ON ME. Yeah, great way to spend $30. If you don't need help, the site is great.

This should be an option. Free credit reports from Transunion. All thought I read through the Federal Trade Commission website and found out that annualcreditreport[dot]com is the place to get a free credit report.

Must agree with some the other reviewers regarding the accuracy and applicability (that's applicable to your credit life) of TrueCredit services. I ended up talking to 'member support' service to complain about the credit score(s) provided, as the scores are totally bogus. What? How can that be? Allow me to give you an example:

As reported by TransUnion Equifax

TrueCredit.com 931 (94%) 990 (98%)

Fico.com 707 (<50%) 701 (<50%)

Question: So how is it my FICO score is less than the median US credit score of 725, while my "Vontage" TrueCredit score is in the upper echelons of 94%-98%?
Answer: Yes its true, TrueCredit.com makes up credit scores that have nothing to do with FICO scores or with reality.

My advice, stay away, do not waste your hard earned $$

1 star is way too many stars...
Very misleading in their marketing! Went back to them for the third year for my credit report review and then canceled the same day. I noticed the $30.00 charge on my credit card a month later. When I called I was told there was nothing I could do and no one I could talk to - Their program had changed and I wasn't understanding their changes when I ordered the reports the same way I had the for the past 2 years.
This is a Very Very bad company! Stay away!
You can get a totally free credit reports from annualcreditreport.com

They are a scam!
October 1, 2011

They are a scam! They market your credit scores as if the numbers are coming directly from the three credit reporting bureaus, when in fact the numbers are some fictious numbers TRUE CREDIT has in fact come up with. The credit scores they provide are of no value to you as a consumer. Not only should you avoid them like the plaque, if you are utilizing them, cancel now and ask for a refund of dime you ever paid. Their name TRUE CREDIT, is a joke.

I was using truecredit.com to monitor my credit. After a nasty called off engagement, I had pretty much destroyed my credit and for the last three years have worked very hard to repair my credit. truecredit.com told me that my credit scores were up there... almost 700 the highest one even being a score of 700. Well, me and my husband went in to prequalify for a mortgage (and I was only doing this because of what truecredit.com told me, and I was confident) come to find out, NOT A SINGLE CREDIT SCORE NUMBER MATCHED OR WAS EVEN CLOSE TO WHAT THEY HAD TOLD ME IT WAS! I was absolutly emabarrassed. Then when I called to cancel, they argued with me and did everything to keep me. Finally I told them I wanted to cancel and that they REALLY LET ME DOWN! Your best bet would be to just contact that credit bureas yourself.

I feel like this is something that I should be paying attention to. I pay 14.99 and log in once every 3 months or so and it shows me my credit history.

I wonder if i can get this anywhere for free?
