Last 10/30, I ordered package from topresume, (+)an extra phone consultation. On their email they mentioned it will take a week or less to get my first draft one I get matched with a writer. That same day, I got another email saying my writer has been chosen and they may email me for additional details.

A week later, I heard from my writer, and asked when I will get my first draft. She replied, said my first draft is due that day, but I obviously didn't get it.

I decided to request for a refund on both orders the next day. My main reason is because I paid for the services in good faith, but felt like I didn't get my order and service in a timely manner. 2 hours after my refund email request, I got my first draft, which made me more suspicious on how this business is being run. I followed up 2 more times for my refund, but no one reached out to me. Funny thing was, I get emails and calls regularly before purchasing their service, and now, complete silence.

This morning (2 days later), I've decided to take a look at the resume as I wanted to give it another chance. The first line had my name..."misspelled". Wow. Browsing through the whole document, I knew this was DEFINITELY a rushed work, without any attention to detail. The original resume I've submitted is better than what they came back with. Instead of improving my current state, it went backward 10 steps. At this time, I am still waiting for them to reach out to me and return my refund.

(PS - I sent the same resume to zipjob.com, They at least have the decency to email me back and tell me they couldn't find any issues). Kudos to them.

I would NOT recommend this company.

I applied to a job on topresume and they gave me the complimentary resume review - I get their selling a product but it was thorough and I liked the points they brought up so I decided to have them rewrite my resume. I paid over $200 to have a resume rush ordered. First of all they gave me a date for my first draft, it came and went without a word. I had to email three times with no reply before I called the number for assistance. The girl was nice and sorted it all out. Even threw in a free cover letter for the wait.

Finally I get my first draft. They threw in a few misplaces key words, just delete my bullets and put my original text into paragraph form. The resume was a completely unnecessary two pages because of the carelessness of the design/wording.

A total and complete waste of money. Just use online templates and do it yourself.

I paid A$180 plus for a resume and a cover letter. Supposedly I should get my first draft in 5-7! Days once they found a writer for me. I got an email from the writer introduceing himself as soon as they found the match, 7 days later instead of getting the first draft I received the same exact self introducing email I received earlier! After I questioned the writer via email, I received my first draft, however I can tell the writer hasn't even read the job description I'm applying for, and added the experience I never even had! There was no point to discuss further with such a writer for perfecting the resume. It's totally a waste of money! I rated one star because it's the lowest already.

Bought their best pacakge guaranteeing 48 hour turnaround time, two review for resume, cover letter, LinkedIn review and a sixty day interview guarantee... wow! I got a response for resource assignment within 2 days and then first draft in 4 days with an average remake of original resume and a cover letter - only after I complained the third day. I was asked to provide a response in next 7 days for which I replied in 4 days never to hear back. Finally I complained again on the 14th day of engagement after which I was sent another slightly updated version and an email that the engagement has been closed. No LinkedIn review was provided.

I signed up for the executive package as I wanted a revised resume that could be leveraged for LinkedIn. Cost be damned, this service is a joke as all the so called writer did was change the format. Content wise, they inexplicably created an incoherent word salad. A bot or monkey could have done better!

This poor work product is highly insulting and upsetting given you are required to complete a detailed survey about your experience and goals, as well as provide sample job descriptions of roles of interest or applied for. I sure will NOT recommend TopResumes.com as it should be renamed to JokeResumes.com! Needless to say I will be using my existing resume.

Do not waste your time or your money with this company. I usually never write reviews however, this experience was awful so wanted to warn others. I spent over $400 on their services and got back a resume that looked like a high school student wrote it. They kept throwing different writers at my resume, and each one came back worse than the other. They have no knowledge on how to format or write a resume, it was very entry level. I have over 20 years experience in my field with 2 Masters Degree and my resume looked like I was applying for a $10 job. All the information that I provided them, skills, experience etc was not shown in the resume, even after several times of telling them that this information was missing. Horrible customer service, their customer service rep called me due to me wanting to speak with someone about the issues, and she was rude. They will not give you a refund, their quality is horrible, and the writers have no clue what they are doing.

Their response was fast. The resume critique they gave was indeed honest, straightforward, and with suggestions for its improvement. They broke down the resume into sections and gave their insights as to what makes it good and bad and how to make it better though I would like it to be more specific in some areas as it sounds so broad.

Besides the point, I am also concerned to the negative reviews you are getting.

Don't work work with this company.
I submitted my order and questionnaire 2 weeks ago and I am still waiting for my first draft to be sent.
I am still not sure who is working on my resume and their real professional background (if actually someone is working on my resume). I have received 4 emails to offer me a discount to pay for additional options like LinkedIn resume review but still no news about what they can actually deliver. Pretty bad experience.

They promise you expert resume writers but my writer knew nothing about Canadian HR. She removed my credentials that should 100% be on my resume. She misconstrued my experience and really had no idea. You pay them but have to work in their timelines. I gave a ton of feedback for my first draft but she changed almost nothing. When I put in a complaint to the company I received no response. What a bunch of crooks and a waste of money. Do not use them!

I have 25 years of higher education fundraising experience, however TopResume could not capture or understand what fundraising is.
The first issue I had was, they were late with returning my resume and I paid extra for the service.
Sencondly, after addressing the issue that they were late, they assigned a new resume writer. She could not capture what I actually did, after a number of attempts and emails, she finally got it.
Third. I'm not an editor and that's why I asked a professional to write my resume, I was only looking for content, not grammar, again I'm not an editor. After over two weeks I approved the resume.

I sent out the resume to a few companies, and one was nice enough to let me know there were grammatical errors on my resume. Now, I know it's part my fault, but as stated before, I'm not an editor, that's why I paid over $700 for topresume and that is not what was delivered. I called a friend who is a writer and she fixed it, FOR FREE.

DONT USE THIS COMPANY!

I paid to use their resume service and paid extra for expedited service. After the expedited time period had passed, I still had not heard from anyone at Top Resume. I had to reach out to figure out what was going on and finally, it was assigned to someone AFTER the agreed upon expedited time period that I was supposed to receive my resume. I have requested a refund on the fee I paid to have the resume expedited 3 times now and have gone mostly ignored. The only contact I have had regarding the refund was one email where they tried to give me another service for free that I have no use for. Since I turned down that offer, it has been radio silence. Oh and I ordered everything sept 24th and still have not received a completed resume.

The customer service here is terrible and I could not recommend this service to anyone for the price they are charging.

Absolute standard. No eye-catching layout at all. Extremely boring to read. Standard phrases. Rather expensive.

My job application was for a specific company. This company was not mentioned with one word, nor was why it would be of interest to me. Nothing! And, we are talking about Red Bull. Surely they could have written some sentence to why I want to work there.
Indeed, a total rip off!

Don't use them! I will never again. There are so much better writers around!
