This has been the worst purchase and experience, beyond what I ever could have expected. As other reviews have mentioned, the initial free review is impressive. This review impressed me enough to spring for the paid service (and 48 hr turnaround), particularly given the algorithmic insight.
The resume I received was incredibly disappointing with mistakes ranging from simple spelling errors, incorrect dates, and a generally poor writing level to a total and complete lack of industrial knowledge or expertise. I would be embarrassed to submit this resume for any opening as it reflects a complete lack of competency and understanding of my industry. I emailed the resume writer to communicate this, and provided an edited version, and 5 days later received an "revised" copy in which the only changes were approval of my own edits.
I consider TopResume a scam, promising industry experts and attention to each resume but only leveraging these actually expert reviewers for the free analysis - thereby driving paid services at which point all quality and client attention is absent.
There is a very good reason they do not offer any refunds and make no guarantees.
I have never disputed a credit card charge before this, but they are straight up committing fraud. Don't do business with them. Better to get like 5 rewrites from people on Upwork for these prices, and at least Upworkers deliver.

Resume was written with grammar and spelling mistakes mistakes, layout not professional, just basic. I was in complete shock when I saw the first draft and realized I just threw away $400 down the toilet. After 3rd review, still mistakes. Questions not answered. Spent many hours with them trying to redo the resume and then spent hours after that redoing the entire resume. Most likely will just continue to touch it up myself or again pay another company to do it. Should have gone with somebody who takes $50, they probably would have wrote it much better. I did read the reviews prior to purchasing their package, but expected that to be their competitors as they seem like a huge company. Useless company, don't get scammed. Their free revision of the resume is 1000x better than when they make the resume for you. My previous resume has better rating on the ATS platform for the same jobs I sent them!

I paid a week ago and after a few emails I called to inquire about the process. The representative on the phone told me it was my fault because I had not done a questionnaire. When I explained I had done that she sent me one anyway. After finally checking on my progress she told me her system is not working correctly. I asked if this was a problem and she did not want to discuss it. I asked if I could talk to management and she said that her manager was off because it was Friday. I asked for any manager and she admitted they had none. I asked about the company structure and she did not want to discuss it. Giving any information to this company is a mistake. The gap between the knowledge of the phone rep and the emails I have gotten is enormous. They don't know what they are doing with your data. Not trustworthy at all.

I paid and submitted my resume over a month ago. I received a couple emails and then nothing for a couple weeks. I finally emailed them and got a very generic excuse as to why my resume was taking so long. I finally received my rough draft and it was only one page not the two pages I paid for. I was given a complimentary thank you letter because it has taken so long. I am still waiting for my resume. Thankfully I am just trying to apply for jobs after the new year, but what if I had been desperate to get a job and needed this resume to help? I would not recommend this site to another person but it would be good to use a resume professional to look at your resume.

The critique was very detailed. The woman reviewing my resume even cited a few lines! I knew she actually took time to thoroughly look through my resume. Very straightforward and professional.
Please do not waste your time and money. English is not my native language but my 12-year-old daughter can write better than their writers. Very rude customer service raps. All their cares is to rip you off and take your money. Do NOT recommend to my enemies. I wish I could give them no star.

Just received my first draft from their "professional resume writer". What a disappointment! I am not sure if they are having high school kids or someone just out of college try to write these but this was the worst resume and worst cover letter that I have ever seen. They have no clue what is important and the extremely brief questionnaire fails to capture relevant information. I ask for a refund but they apparently don't give refunds. Now I know why! They are handing me off to another writer so we'll see what happens. I really don't know how they think they can write a resume for someone without speaking to them and understanding what their needs are. I feel like I have been scammed and completely wasted my money. I will update this after I see what the 2nd writer does with my resume.

I just had a little conversation with a "supervisor" from topresume.com.
They felt that the blank resume with only my name, address and telephone number WAS ACCEPTABLE. And they felt they WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY RESUME SERVICE TO ME PERIOD...
What a waste of $200.
They felt they 3 e-mails they sent entitle them to keep my money. Lets the credit card company duke this one out.

They resume promotion is a service they offer that posts your resume on 75 sites. They make it clear after you purchase this service that they don't support this service. So, I receive an email from resume promotion, with a pin that will prompt them to assign you a new email just for the resume postings and you then set up a password. Never received the email, resume promotion has no number to call and top resume says this is not their problem. They should not promote a service if they cannot support it. So I am recently unemployed and screwed again.

I got the initial re-write from Fatima. I am so disappointed and feel so duped. I realize now that I could have done better on my own.
She initially misspelled my name. She wasn't even consistent throughout the document on the spelling. In one place, I'm Cathryn and another Katherine.
She misspelled the name of at least one of my past employers.
She put a comma in front of a prepositional phrase.
She was inconsistent in which tense to use.
She had misspelled words in the job descriptions.
She put single bullets when everyone knows that if you don't have at least two points that need bullets you don't separate out a single item.
She emphasized my experience working in the healthcare field when I specified that I wanted to focus on engineering and IT companies.
She seemed to think that my employment as a contract employee was something of which to be ashamed. I worked all of my assignments to the end dates. I was a model employee and represented my agencies well.
She also misrepresented my experience.
There was no collaboration between us. She just messed around with my original resume.
Overall, the way she formed her sentences, made my resume sound like English was my second language.
I attempted to contact TopResume through the email addresses that had been used to contact me to register my total rejection of the first draft and my desire for a refund. There was no response. I'm guessing that Katie Warren is a fake person and the emails drop into a black hole.
Today, they send another email with my final document which is the first draft now being called "final". There was no mention of my comments. I cannot use this or any version of this document. I wish I'd seen the reviews at the Better Business Bureau before these crooks got my $219. Thank goodness I didn't fall for their other service offers.

Early this year I gave a very low star rating but it was because of the wait. The writer assigned to me ignored my request to reposition my resume for a career change. I've repeatedly questioned her edits and received no explanation. My conclusion is that the writer didn't know what she was doing.
I even submitted one of her revisions into TopResume's evaluation tool which reinforced that the writer had not delivered the promise of helping with career changes.

I had been at my last job for 10 years and my resume was even older than that. For two years i had sent my resume to different openings. Most times I did not get a response and the rest of the times I got emails saying they had decided to interview other people. I still had my old job so there was no rush to land an interview until I realized the amount of time that I had spent trying without success and I was ready for more, I was ready for a change. Topresume did a free analysis of my old resune and I agreed with everything they said. Now that I knew what was wrong with my resume I had the option of spending my time and energy researching what a good resume should look like or pay the professionals. I chose the latter. The first time I sent my new resume I landed an interview and things have been going great since. I am beyond thankful to Jennifer at Topresume for her professionalism throughout the whole process and for a resume and cover letter that I am proud to present!
After submitting my resume to Monster.com, I received an email from TopResume offering a free review of my posted resume. They were savvy with reeling me in, and after a review of their website, I forked over about $250 for a professionally-written resume, cover letter and LinkedIn page. I was assigned an 'expert' writer, and a few days after received a revised draft from her. It had grammatical and spelling mistakes along with content errors, like the wrong location of my previous company and wrong spelling of its name. After calling and sharing my frustration, I was assigned a new 'expert' writer. She, too, had spelling, grammatical and content errors, 17 days after I submitted my resume to her. It seemed like they just string all these buzz words together that are non-of sensical and read like diarrhea of the mouth. I emailed, called several times and complained. TopResume does not issue any refunds. They offered to give me free posting service of my resume. I was livid. The LinkedIn service they provide is a template that you fill in... nothing like what I had thought. Do NOT use this service. The writers are sub-par, tardy, and it was a huge waste of money and very disappointing.

Interesting, but still needs some adaptations to some European markets, at least. I don't think this works entirely in Spain, for instance. But the problem lies here. Most resumes are incipient and I think this is the problem. Most HR recruiters don't value this approach yet.
The initial communication seemed intelligent and thoughtful, however the rewrite of my resume was awful. The person who did the resume only included the last 5 years of my work experience. I have 15+ years of experience (which is noted in my headline)! I had bulIeted lists; the rewrite was simply the bulleted lists written out with semi-colons to separate them. My role has a number of technical skills. None of those skills were highlighted anywhere on the resume. The cover letter was the most poorly written letter I have ever seen in my life. It seemed as if the person authoring the letter did not have a solid command of basic English. This is an absolute scam. Please, please do NOT waste your money and please tell anybody you know to avoid TopResume.

They use generic advice that I think they somehow automate to impress you with a long, free review, then bait and switch with the actual offshore people. I think it's automated initially because they said stuff like "use bullet points" when my whole résumé is bulleted, but the bullets are directly on the PDF design and not generated in a recognizable MS Word bullet format. They also said a bunch of stuff that was flat-out wrong that I won't bore you with. Not worth anything.

Answer: It depends, if you want to pay for a mediocre format riddled with errors that has the language equivalent of a high-schooler. You will end up paying $100 for something you could have sat down and done in an hour and a half.

Answer: Be careful with this company. They post 1000s of fake reviews to hide the real ones. Note that they do not post their phone number or address on the website. I had to file with the BBB to get a refund after never being contacted. This is a SCAM company - you are better off writing your own resume, trust me on this

I've been assigned 3 different writers and have received a subpar product back each time, written by someone who's first language is clearly not English. The best part, I paid $100+ for a "LinkedIn Rewrite" and this was where the writer copied and pasted their version of my resume into the boxes for LinkedIn. You've got to be kidding me... Don't waste your money!
