It took eight days for my resume to be assigned, and a week more to receive an update. The draft had numerous typos and grammar inconsistencies - I have seen better from my interns. After submitting edits, the draft I received back basically accepted the track changes of the edits I provided but did nothing to address the comments - and even included SOMEONE ELSE'S CONTENT. Customer service was pitiful and did nothing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I was not getting many calls or interviews until I hired TopResume to rewrite my resume. They definitely know what they are doing
Terrible attitude from my writer on our first interaction. What I got back was worse than any rewrite I could have done myself. I felt totally ripped off. Have asked for and been promised a refund.
Was able to get a quality federal resume written by a top notch professional that was able to convert all my military experience, training, evaluations and awards into terms that makes it easier for non-navy/military hiring officials can see and understand. Would recommend again!
My resume read as a timeline of my working life. The people at TopResume modified it to read more about me as an individual highlighting my strengths.
Ordered service and submitted a Resume. 8 Days for it to be assigned to a writer. 14 days to when I was supposed to receive the first draft. 16 days... Still nothing. 17 days to cancel this so-called service. Terrible. Truly terrible.
I paid for a resume and for the follow-up call/conversation. I never received the call, and the resume was useless. I was not able to get an interview until I scrapped the whole resume. Feed back was disastrous. I had a few questions and the only response was them re-sending the resume with everything I mentioned taken out instead of fixed.
Again, save your money. If you can't write, have a friend that can do it. They failed to do the one thing I needed - translate my military service to civilian talk.
I had difficulty putting my experience into words. TopResume did a a great job of highlighting various features.
I'm happy with my resume now and feel more confident putting it forward for applications. It's hard to keep ahead of what employers are looking for and I was making some mistakes in both th cover letter and resume. The end result is concise and professional.
TopResume is a bundle of client responsive team with remarkable experience customizing service to align with the needs of the client and providing excellent product that is editable and easy to easy for job hunting. Keep up the good work
I recently went back to school in order to further my career options and needed a way to highlight my experience without making it so obvious that I was a new graduate. I hesitated using a resume service because it can be expensive, but I am so glad I did it. Lauren, my resume writer, knew how to portray all my strengths and was able to use the appropriate words that would get me noticed by recruiters. Sadly, applying for a job is not as simple as just being a good candidate. You have to know how to play the game so to speak, and a good resume is your first step. I am grateful for all the help topresume provided me and I know that if I ever need to update my resume this will be the first place I will go to get help.
I was thrilled with the final outcome of my resume and the fact that the writer would send me the rough draft and ask for further information. I gave her the information and she turned it into words that I was unable to. Thank you for assisting me in my quest for a new job!
I have been out of the job market for over 10 years and haven't had to redo my resume in over 12. After reading my resume that I had done, and the length of it, I knew it needed an overhaul but wasn't sure where to go. Enter Top Resume. They not only did my resume and my cover letter but my Linked In profile too. After reading what they wrote I found that I would even want to hire me :). I started getting calls back to interview and received more views of my resume and profile on Linked In, Career Builder, Indeed and Zip Recruiter.
It was just the rework I needed to highlight my strengths.
I had written my own resume about 3 times and the formatting was plain and to the point. I was going from an engineering background to IT so I had trouble translating my work into a cyber security standpoint. I went to TopResume to get a "professional" to write the resume with what I have. I ended up getting a copy/pasted very bland resume with more than 1 spelling error and the formatting was completely wrong and all hiring managers would ask for another resume since it looked weird (from 1 page to 2 page and header was copy/pasted that I will show a photo of). Not only that but after talking with the company to fix the spelling errors in my cover letter and resume it was a pain to place it on many of the job related sites like Dice.com, LinkedIn.com, Indeed.com, ZipRecruiter.com and many more.
The Advice I give to everyone out there is this... Watch a few YouTube videos or read advice on how to write a resume and try to do your own. After that find a nice template online to organize your information and be careful of the formatting since it will be completely different from MS Word and the rest of the internet (Try google docs view along with MS Word to be sure).
Horrible experience. They copied word by word what I provided in the "interview" section, grabbed random stuff from my LinkedIn profile and proceeded to badly combined it with the resume I provided. The result was what I got as a "professional resume" (at least according to Top Resume). As you can imagine, this is something I could've done for FREE. When I pay $350 for a "professionally written" resume, I expect top-notch quality NOT a frankenstein of information mash together.
After various back and forward emails of me pointing this out and asking for changes and not being satisfied with the results. I gave up and asked for a refund, which I obviously did not get. Biggest ripoff of $350 of my life considering I AM UNEMPLOYED and have no money to waste around.
Seriously save your money. After doing some research I decided to pay the hefty price tag of Top Resume because they claimed to be the best and they've proven they are NOT. Should've gone with the ladies on Fiverr that cost about 1/4 of the price this clowns at Top Resume charged me.
I don't know where to start! A friend of mine suggested that I contact Top Resume to have my resume professionally written. I was doubtful, but decided to take a chance and invest in myself. I received the professionally-written resume approx 7 days after submitting payment, and I wasn't too sure about it. I was concerned that it only emphasized projects I had led rather than the actual work I had done (i. E.-system configuration, testing, training, support, analysis). I communicated my initial concerns to the writer, who quickly reasoned and explained her approach for the resume (being that I had 14+ years of experience). She also agreed to add a few additional sentences to put my mind at ease. I was thoroughly impressed with her knowledge, her approach and her willingness to address my concerns. AS SOON AS I began using the professionally-written resume, recruiters started to contact me! In fact, I'm on to second round interviews for at least 5 roles and have am currently in the process of negotiating an offer for another role. In addition to this, I have a few more interviews (2) and pre-screening calls (3) lined up for just this week alone. If you're a skeptic like I was, trust me, you will NOT regret using Top Resume! I am proof that with their help, you can get the job you deserve!
I absolutely loved my resume and cover letter. They did an amazing job in a short period of time. They were easy to work with and extremely responsive to my edits.
A friend referred me to stop Resume.
She could not stop saying how pleased she was with the results!
Incredibly happy with the work done!
Excited to start sending it out.
Top Resume will bug you with solicitations, promise you the best resume ever. Then once the find out your just a simple person that's been in the workforce for over 2 decades with no higher education, there not able to give the best resume. They basically asked me to outline a draft of my required resume before they could assist me. I had already sent a copy of one I had been using prior to requesting their services. I wish I would have never asked to use their services. Now they're telling me because they've already sent a draft before the date of June 7th, which my expected date of delivery for the draft. That I can't expect a refund. The draft sucks. There's false statements and allusion of things I didn't do. Despite the variety of gathered skills all within a customer service aspect; the resume writer was only able to direct me to a call center position which is not future goals or intentions. I could have stuck with what I had.
Extremely disappointed and angry with the lack of service provided and the final product. The ultimate goal should be a very high quality product (resume) that leads to a new position for the customer. I just don't see that approach. Rather, I see a up-sell model where to get a high quality product, the customer is forced to continue to add to their sunk cost of the initial spend. Specifically, creating a resume for someone requires direct and dual communication (phone calls) rather than just email exchanges and questionnaires. Those are decent starts, but you need phone call interviews so writers can understand the customer and write a truly good resume. Additionally, the time it took to make this resume was atrocious. It took several weeks to get drafts done and about 3 months in total and only ended due to both sides giving up. Frankly, I request a refund and have requested one on the phone. When I did, I was told things would improve but they did not.
Answer: It depends, if you want to pay for a mediocre format riddled with errors that has the language equivalent of a high-schooler. You will end up paying $100 for something you could have sat down and done in an hour and a half.
Answer: Hi Carolyn, Thanks for asking! The process will begin with a questionnaire. If after you submit the questionnaire, the writer has follow-up questions, the writer will reach out.
Answer: Be careful with this company. They post 1000s of fake reviews to hide the real ones. Note that they do not post their phone number or address on the website. I had to file with the BBB to get a refund after never being contacted. This is a SCAM company - you are better off writing your own resume, trust me on this
Answer: You will not get your money refunded, no matter how bad the result is. I tried.
Answer: Because this company is a sham. Please do not waste your money. There are plenty of reputable services that you can use.
Answer: I second that, Alex! This service is a sham! I've been assigned 3 different writers and have received a subpar product back each time, written by someone who's first language is clearly not English. The best part, I paid $100+ for a "LinkedIn Rewrite" and this was where the writer copied and pasted their version of my resume into the boxes for LinkedIn. You've got to be kidding me... Don't waste your money!
Answer: I am on month two and still have not received a finalized document. Currently, I've gone through 3 different writers and still do not have a usable document. My original resume, cover letter and LinkedIn are far better products than what I've received from TopResume. If you are thinking of using this service, please PASS. It has been a tremendous waste of my resources: time and money. Best of luck to you.
