I ordered some woodland perennials 2 years ago and they come up beautifully each spring so far. The bulbs came in great condition and have even survived the drought during our hot Ohio summer. TN Nursery is my go to place for native plants/trees. I'm very happy!
Sent me three bare root persimmons in November. The roots and trunks of the persimmons looked very healthy/vigorous. The fruit trees I ordered were shipped to me on 2/03. I am ordering some Paw Paw trees today. I am hopeful that the trees I have planted and will plant will grow well this coming season.
Thank you so much!
Very easy to order on the site. Looking forward to receiving the apricot and persimmon trees that I ordered.
Trees arrived dead. The refund process was confusing but finally was able to get store credit and ordered new trees for this Spring.
Hi Michael, this is Bailey with TN Nursery. Thank you for sharing your experience. Our trees are shipped dormant, and during dormancy they can sometimes appear lifeless even though they are still viable. A simple way to check is the scratch test—gently scratch the bark with a fingernail; if you see green tissue underneath, the tree is alive.
Dormant plants often don’t show visible growth until spring when temperatures warm and roots begin actively establishing. If you have questions or would like care guidance while waiting for spring growth, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]
—we’re always happy to help.
When setting up my account, I receive a message telling me I can save 10% off my order, however when I go to put in the code that is provided by the company it doesn't work. The only success I have had is the $5 off code. My orders have been around $100 and saving 10% does help when I'm looking at close to $20 of shipping.
Hi, this is Bailey with TN Nursery. Thank you for bringing this to our attention—we’re sorry for the frustration with the coupon codes. We’d be happy to look into this and get it resolved for you. Please email us directly at [email protected] with the code you tried to use, and we’ll take care of it. We truly appreciate your support and are glad you chose to shop with us.
I like the prices and the BOGO plus your close by on TN.
Great Products! Very happy with everything we purchased. We've got everything potted up and growing for spring! The roots on the trees are beautiful, can't wait for them to leaf out. Perennials in the cold frame are already starting to pop out of the dirt.
Thank you! 🙏 💚
I believe you accidentally hit 2 stars. Could you fix that for me? It hurts our small business.
I've placed orders but I haven't received anything yet after they ship and I received them we will see! So for it's been easy and no problems!
Thank you! 🙏 💚
4 of 6 died of a mold/fungus infection. The 2 survivors died back to root and resprouted. No sure of infection source root stock or soil. Worth a second try.
Hi, this is Bailey with TN Nursery. Thank you for sharing those details and for giving us another try. Fungal issues can occasionally occur during establishment, often influenced by soil moisture, drainage, and environmental conditions rather than the root stock itself. It’s encouraging to hear that two plants died back and successfully resprouted, which is a normal survival response for many perennials and trees.
We’d be happy to review planting conditions and offer tips to help reduce future issues and improve success. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at [email protected] —we appreciate your business and the opportunity to assist.
Second time ordering from TWN which are both pre-orders. Website is a pleasure to navigate. This company explains every concern I have as well in has detailed information on all your questions.
Thank you! 🙏 💚
We have recently ordered many times with Tennessee Nursery and have always been pleased. Ordering is easy, your kept up to date with delivery and plants or rhizomes were as expected. We'll be ordering again!
Thank you! 🙏 💚
Well, as of now, i think they all died but I will see when the spring comes. Also< i would like more that 2-3 colors of Trillium in my order.
Hi, this is Bailey with TN Nursery. Thank you for giving us another chance—we truly appreciate that. Many of our plants, including trilliums, are shipped dormant and often don’t show visible growth until spring after planting, once conditions are right. It’s not uncommon for them to appear inactive through winter while they establish below ground.
Regarding color selection, mixed trillium orders can include a natural variety, but availability and bloom color can vary seasonally. We’d be happy to review your order and discuss options for future shipments. Please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]
so we can assist further.
We recently placed an order for plants intended for the pondside area. Currently, all items remain in our nursery, awaiting planting in the spring season. While not all of the river cane appears to have survived, we are optimistic that the crested iris is merely dormant. The cattails, however, are thriving nicely. Overall, we view this as a largely successful effort, particularly given our primary focus on establishing the river cane and cattails along various sections of the water's edge.
Thank you! 🙏 💚
We were pleased to have found the cattails we need for our lake. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to purchase them now, so we can grow them indoors until the weather warms up enough to transplant them to their permanent location next spring.
Have ordered all my Dogwood trees from TN nursery and they have been healthy, hearty trees. They were all packaged well, with no damage.
Thank you so much!
Almost all of my precious purchases have thrived in my meditation garden. I am a very happy and satisfied customer back again for another purchase.
Thank you! 🙏
I purchased one pear branch and received two more and they all came looking healthy but Spring will be the time I know for sure 😁
Thank you! 🙏
You keep orders straight addeliver when you say you will. I have ordered ferns& Dogwoid Trees and they are all doing great. I plan on ordering more in the near future🍪.
Thank you so much!
I ordered 200 Loblolly Pine seedlings. I choose to wait to take them out of the box since the weather was below freezing for a couple days. When I started planting I realized I only received 102 of the 200 ordered. I tried to send 2 emails to customer service and both were sent back. I called and was informed I was out of the 24 hr window.
Hi, this is Bailey with TN Nursery. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We do want to clarify that all seedling orders are carefully counted and packed prior to shipment. Our 24-hour reporting window is in place because seedlings are perishable, and counts must be verified immediately upon delivery to ensure accuracy and allow us to assist promptly.
Holding plants in the box for several days—especially during freezing temperatures—unfortunately prevents us from verifying shortages after that window. Regarding the returned emails, we’re happy to review that further, as [email protected]
is fully operational and monitored daily.
We appreciate that you chose us again to complete your planting, and we encourage you to contact us directly so we can discuss available options moving forward.
It was a mixed experience. Some of the plants I chose did well. My barefoot celadon poppies never emerged from the soil after planting.
Hi Lisa, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We truly appreciate your feedback and use each comment to continue improving—for gardeners like you who are passionate about nurturing plants. We hope to provide you with excellent results next time!
Were building a sort of forage farn and your site has sone of the best variety, including some illinois specific wetland flowers ive been after.
Thank you so much!
The prices for the Moss was much cheaper before which let me to buy different type. Now I limit myself because of the over price and no real deal.
Thank you so much!
My experience being all the way honest, is TN Nursery is great. Theyre expedient, great variety, straight forward and to quality driven.
Ive made several orders now, all were delivered quickly, often extras were added, for example, if bought a package of 5, it was mor like 7 or 8... But, youre reading reviews because you want to know the negative, right?
Only thing I can think of, is, prices are kinda high. I mean, even with buy one get one free, buying from a local nursery is almost always more affordable. But, thats not always an option if you dont live here in Tree City Tennessee.
Chris, thanks so much for sharing your honest thoughts and for being a loyal customer. We truly appreciate when fresh ideas top off your orders, and we're always thinking about how to keep giving the best balance of quality and value. Looking forward to helping with your future plans, no matter the size or where you’re planting roots!
What can I say. They tend to be a bit on the small side, and I tend to not trust businesses who want buy good feedback.
Answer: The buy one get one offer they ran. It was a Hugh mistake. I regret wasting my money!
Answer: I can never get a response from anyone. If I call the number with my issue they tell me I have to email them.
Answer: Call the customer service number listed on the site Mon-Fri 8:00-4:00 CST

Thank you so much!
