I love Thrive Market. I enjoy a lot of their products and thought that they were a good price. Getting a package always made me smile and I loved how carefully everything was wrapped and packaged so that I would receive the products in good condition. I don't understand why people complain about being charged the yearly membership when it seemed pretty obvious to me. I recently decided to cancel my membership after two years. I just found that I wasn't ordering as much and wanted to save on the yearly fee. I called and chatted with someone and they said that it would be canceled. I just doubled checked and it has indeed been cancelled. It was super easy. I don't know if I will try them again in the future but my experience was nothing but positive.

I cancelled my free trial 2 days prior to the end of the trial. I have an email confirmation of my cancellation. And yet they still charged me NOT ONCE BUT TWICE for a subscription I cancelled PRIOR TO FREE TRIAL EXPIRATION. Do not give these scammers your credit card info unless you are prepared to pay their annual subscription in perpetuity. They cannot be trusted, no matter how great the service seems.

We also send trial members an email reminder a few days before the membership is activated, as well as prior to renewal. Just like all the other bad reviews... noticed a 59.95 charge on my credit card statement which apparently has been going on for 3 years. Mad at myself for not seeing it but still disappointed in this company. Buy 1 thing and it automatically signs you up for membership. I'll make sure to tell everyone I know to stay away from this company.

WTHey, Thrive Market? Free 30 day trial membership, cancel any time, then without approval charged the annual membership fee to my card within a few hours of the first time placing one order? Really?! A rip-off... literally. I want my $59.99 charge back and Im returning the one item I did purchase and authorize, once I receive it. I want nothing to do with liers and thieves. Return my money ASAP. Disputed it already through my bank.

I noticed a charge on my credit card. Just like many others on here, I do not remember seeing this at check out. I used a different coupon code than they did. I am pretty upset, because I am good with these things (always mark calendar, test the waters more than one order before committing, etc.).

Customer service said they would refund me... let's see.

I simply would stay away from Thrive for this reason. You can find plenty of other delivery services where you know what you are getting yourself into. This is sneaky and unethical. Complete lack of transparency and I do not want to have a subscription with a company that lacks those values.

I signed up for the free trial, but they ended up charging me for a year membership by saving my creditcard information. I chatted with customer service who said that's the deal when you sign up. When i told them no and wanted a refund, they tried to get me to sign up for a subsidized plan. I said no is no and wouldn't pay or order from a site that scams you into membership. They said they refunded me and guided me deleting my card information, which suddenly appeared after the call.

I had a nightmare order. I received a defective product, which I was credited a thrive credit. I then placed another order using my credit + bigger $ order, only to have my order cancelled due to me accidentally create another email idental to my email exception without the.(dot) not sure where or how they come up with that. Anyway, that was alot of my time wasted over a $10 credit.

Initially, I signed up because having organic goods shipped to your house at a lower price seemed like a good idea. After being a member for 2 years, Ive come to realize, Im not saving all that much.

Thrive claims my savings is huge, upwards of $600 a year. I dont know where they get that info from but I did some investigating and record keeping on my own and found their claims to be false in my case.

Aside from a few things that are sold at a discount on Thrive market, majority of the goods are basically priced competitively with my neighborhood Whole Foods, Trader Joes, or Ralphs/Kroger market. Sometimes things I purchase are the same price, sometimes its a savings of a few cents which isnt worth it for me. The one thing I purchase on a regular basis is pasta sauce and thats been 2-3 dollars less a jar than at the local stores. Otherwise, the savings simply arent there to justify the annual fee for me. It may be wonderful for other people who happen to buy items that have discounts greater than a few pennies, and Im happy for them, sadly, I dont fall into that category. For that reason, I wont be using them anymore. I highly suggest you do some homework before signing up to make sure you are, indeed, saving enough to make the hefty annual fee worth it. Dont take their word for it because it wasnt true in my case.

I know most of the complaints of this company are from people who tried to cancel their trial membership. I have not tried to do that because I love the company and the products they sell. I live in a rural area with only limited choices of stores in which to shop and I have multiple food allergies. Thrive saves me multiple trips to the closest Whole Foods and Trader Joes, which are located 2 hours a way. I find Thrive very convenient since they ship right to my door. It does take about a week to receive my order but it would take that long for me to find the time to travel 4 hours round trip to get what I need. I never have a problem ordering over $49 so the shipping is free. The prices are cheaper than Whole Foods so if you buy a lot of your food there, you'll likely save money. They also have frequent promotions that include 20-30% off specific brands, which I have used and save money on items we use everyday, like Lara Bars. The Thrive Brand is very good too and they offer cash back on each item you buy. For me the cost of membership has been well worth it. My advice is look on their website and if you use a lot of the items they carry, you'll probably save money over the course of a year, plus gas and time at the store. If you don't use many of the items you find on the website, don't bother with the trial membership because it'll likely be a hassle for you and it won't save you money. Overall, I've been very happy with Thrive and I'm glad I disregarded all the negative reviews and finally gave it a try.

Complete scam. On two occassions, I placed orders over $49 using the code 'bd20x3'. This supposedly discounts $20 from orders over $49, for your first 3 orders. On *both* occasions, even though the promo code was successfully added, AFTER paying, the website switched the code to one for 20% off- meaning a lower discount for me, the customer. I noticed right away each time and contacted customer service for help. On both occassions, the representatives acted as if it had been my fault. The first claimed I had used the 20% off code (no I did not). The second claimed my order had been under $49 (it clearly wasn't, and this could be seen from order history- AND the code that they automatically apply themselves is only valid on orders over $49 too).
This website gets by on tricking customers, and from the other reviews here- automatically signing people up for memberships without honoring cancellation requests.

First, Thrive neglected to process my membership cancellation request in March 2017 which led to two years of annual memberships charges at $59.95 + sales tax.

Then, when I realized I was still being billed and cancelled my account they refunded $59.95 instead of a full refund for $65.27. Thrive is withholding sales tax from refunds and claiming this additional amount goes to the state. This is factually incorrect!

I realize this is a small amount, but the principle of the matter is that sales tax should be refunded (and based on the state is legally required to be refunded in full). If Thrive is doing this to customers at scale, they are almost certainly collecting thousands of dollars in taxes that should have been refunded to customers.

The customer service rep's hands are likely tied by company policy and if company policy is to withhold sales tax when granting refunds this company will likely see the inside of a courtroom.

I would never deal with this company again - stay away.

I placed 2 orders. I was satisfied with both, and the speed of shipping. But, the next thing I know I get charged a membership fee. I never signed up for it... apparently you don't sign up for it they just automatically charge your bank account. Now you are responsible for calling them to get it refunded. How many people don't look closely at their monthly bank account activity? Why be so sneaky? Why not ask us IF we would like to join? Let the customer make that decision not them. Infuriating and so time intensive on my part to get this straightened out.

Why would I spend $60/yr for absolutely nothing in return? That $60/yr you want me to pay for another year doesn't include free shipping on my orders, regular discount codes, or anything at all. All it does is give some low-income person a free membership and pays Thrive Market's CEO and employees. This is the only way their company is staying in business!

I thought when I paid the $60/yr fee in 2017 that I would get 25-50% off the listed prices on your website but that isn't the case. Only first time users get a steep discount on their first order if they use a discount code. All the discount codes won't work after you're a member!

With my $50/yr Amazon Prime Student Membership I get free same-day shipping, 2-day shipping, access to streaming tons of music/movies/shows for free, exclusive discounts, free returns, etc. With this $60/yr Thrive Market membership you don't get anything at all, not even free shipping (unless you spend $49+ each time you order).

Thrive also doesn't have the cheapest prices on many items. Compare prices to Vitacost, LuckyVitamin, iHerb, Amazon or a local co-op in your city. You may find the price is cheaper elsewhere.

I canceled my membership because the $60/yr fee is absurd and doesn't give you anything in return besides the occasional "this product is on sale" or "free coconut oil with you next order" email.

Hi J.- Thank you for taking the time to offer your feedback. All orders over $49 always include free shipping. Each brand we carry provides a manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP). In practice, some retailers will price higher than the MSRP (like local boutiques), while others will price lower. On average, our products are 25-50% below the MSRP, and are cheaper than other retailers 90% of the time. Also, Thrive Market does offer cash back, sale items and free gifts with purchases multiple times a week. I do apologize that you didn't see the savings and we hope that you consider joining us again in the future.

However our problem with their service which we cancelled in four fold

1.8 of the 20 cans of beans we ordered were badly dented

The packaging looked good, it looks like they were placed in the box already damaged.

2. The disclosure of the 60 some dollars yearly fee is not readily apparent, but we were aware of that and had planned on canceling the membership after placing the order.

3. Their reviews on the web are terrible... I wish we had checked them out before we placed the order...

4. We can buy same item from target on line for only 5% more, whom will give customer service from an on line purchase... at their brick and motor store nearby.
