I wll never again have dealings with this company. After painstakingly sorting through my clothes, i too sent a full bag of items to be reviewed and sold. Each item met the strict guidelines posted on thredup's website. I haven't been notified that my items were received nor have i been notified if anything selling. Unbelievable. From now on, i will stick to ebay, poshmark and the consignment shops in my area. Thredup is a complete scam!

Although, I enjoyed buying from this business I would NEVER send in a clean up bag again. They took about 20 clothing items and sold a good portion of them right away. My payout was $34. Several of my item's were listed at around $20 each. I had several brand new with tags items like an under armour fleece zip up, and juicy couture zip up hoodie. Your better off selling your clothing on your own or taking it to a consignment shop who gives fair prices.

I had low expectations going into my experience with thredUP. Other customers' reviews suggested I should send nothing I wouldn't want to give away, prepare for a high rejection rate, and expect pennies on the dollar for designer items. All solid advice, as my experience seemed pretty in line with other customers' neutral to unsatisfying experiences.

First things first: 3+ weeks to look at a bag of 2 dozen items (I assume 15-30 minutes of labor, max?) is pretty ridiculous. That's not to mention nearly a full month of transit time between mailing the cleanout bag and waiting for the bag to be shipped at a glacier pace back to their warehouse. If you value reasonably prompt service, this isn't for you - not even a little bit.

Secondly, $400+ Rachel Roy cocktail dresses, $200 Hudson jeans, and Anthropologie dress after Anthropologie dress were "unsuitable" for their standards. (Anyone else catch the bit on their website about how they sell rejected items anyways, and that the "meager profits from these items goes toward paying our costs"? SO terribly shady.)

However, I wasn't completely aghast at the offer they did make ($69 for about a dozen and a half J. Crew/Vince/7 for All Mankind pieces). Why their policy makes you wait 14 days to take cash is beyond me, as their old competitor Twice made PayPal payouts available immediately, but hey - just one more eye-rolling aspect of their company.

Was hoping to find a good place online to sell some clothes instead of the ones around where i live because they rarely pay out well or take things that are perfectly fine. I sold an entire bag here, I would say about 13 items including brand new things I'd never worn. They sold 3 items and gave me a payout of $5.03. The items sold for at least 10 and above. I was so incredibly upset that i sent all those clothes and they want me to pay $12.99 to get them back. I emailed their customer service, letting them know I would be posting a negative review. They sent me pictures of all the items I sold, told me they were too used and didn't accept some of the clothes i sent.

I would not recommend selling here.

I have been selling clothes to thredup for over a year and although their payouts have gone done A LOT in the last 9 months, they still are providing a way for me to clean out my closet and fill it up with new pieces. I love it. They don't sell damaged stuff and once I had ordered a shirt and they said after they looked at it, it wasn't in good enough shape to sell. I know other online consignment places would have just sent it anyway. I think ThredUp is great!

I followed their brand guidelines very closely and sent in clothing including several pairs of pants which had NEVER been worn. The only item they accepted was a dress which had actually been worn several times. I was extremely insulted at the implication that the clothes were dirty or stained, especially considering that many of them had NEVER BEEN WORN. I would not be surprised if my items ended up on eBay as others here have suggested. I requested my items back and offered to pay, but was told that they had immediately been donated. Really? Within several hours? There are two possibilities, either Thredup is thieves or morons. Or possibly both.

The only thing that keeps me around is the referral system. I have enjoyed the buying process, and the incentive to join is great. I recommend buying from ThredUp and have been pleased every time I've made a purchase. However, selling my clothing to them makes me want to cry. The process is easy, sure, but I just wish there was an explanation as to why certain items are rejected. They say they donate unwanted items... I'd love to know where because THAT'S where I want to shop!

Sent a bag full of clothing to ThreadUp. Several designer evening dresses, a few nice sun dresses, Ann Taylor linen pants (never worn) and a couple of inexpensive items that I almost didn't send (Lands End dress and Target linen pants, both well worn). After several weeks of waiting, they sent me a message stating that the only items they were accepting were the two inexpensive items (Lands end cotton dress and Target linen pants and my payout was $6. They claimed the other items would not sell. What? After contacting customer service with my very disappointing $6 payout, they told me that my items were "unclean". Anyone who knows me would laugh at that. All items were washed or dry cleaned before sending and the linen trousers had never been worn as they were ordered online and did not fit. I believe this is a very shady business. Someone is making money on the items that they do not sell on their site. If you look through the items for sale, most all have listed "spot that will come out in the wash, or flaws". Do yourself a favor and donate to Salvation Army, Goodwill or support your local consignment shops. Shady!
