I have been working with TRR since it's inception as a consignor and purchaser. I have always had excellent communication in all aspects of selling and buying. Once I didn't like a price for an item that they were going to sell of mine and I asked for it back. No issues. My experience has always been positive.
The issue was resolved within 10 business days. The man I spoke to on the phone was short and uninterested with my issue, but submitted a claim. After not receiving communication at 10 days, I used the chat feature and the man was kind, efficient, and helpful. Ultimately the issue was resolved despite the unfortunate attitude I received and lack of follow up.
I bought pants back in July and have been emailing that I haven't received it yet and it was already August. Eventually, after some back and forth communicating I was refunded the shipping then was told a week later that there was actually a mistake and that the pants was not in stock, so I was given a refund for the pants.
Your return policy is becoming more difficult and makes not worth purchasing clothes anymore. If sizes are wrong (and very hard sometimes with discrepancies even in same brand) return fee is too high to justify many purchases I would like to make.

I purchased a pair of sunglasses, Want to see if he did not match the description I attempted to return them but they where returned to me I was also responsible for all return costs. All I all it cost as much as buying a new pair of glasses will not be purchasing from this website again.

The whole process of buying and returning shoes that didn't fit properly was extremely easy. Staff at the Real Real store in Austin were super friendly and accommodating.
The Prada jeans were not exactly as described. It all button and no zipper contrary to the description of the item

I first received an apology for selling me a nonworking David Yurman watch with the option to return it for a full refund or take a site credit. When I replied asking how much of a site credit are they offering if I decide to keep it and get it repaired, they responded with, "I have forwarded the concern to our internal and I am waiting for a recommendation on how I can proceed regarding your concern. Once I hear back from them, I will immediately get back to you." Therefore, nothing is resolved and as of present, I am disappointed.

After purchasing a luxury item in full and paying for 2 day delivery, it took over 2 weeks for my item to ship. When I contacted customer service regarding the issue, they couldn't provide an explanation for the delay and only refunded my shipping costs. My item took an additional week to ship. I would have canceled my order except it is a hard to find item. I've only had my item for about 4 weeks and it is already falling apart. Which makes me question it's authenticity. I don't trust the RealReal and should have believed all of the articles that claimed the RealReal sells fake goods.

I returned a purchase to a Real Real store for a CC refund which I was entitled to. Instead of processing the return they consigned the item. I emailed them 3 times to tell them there was an error in processing the return. No response. I finally called customer service who told me to call the store. I said this is your error please rectify the situation. The customer service person went back to her team who said they would give me a store credit. I said no this is your error, please give me the CC refund that I am owed. After 38 minutes on the phone she was finally able to get her team to authorize the credit. This was a huge waste of my time and unacceptable customer service on their part especially when the error was theirs.

Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,

Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
