I send a second email pointing out the problem and never heard back.
If the items sent to them to sell don't meet their standards, that's one thing. But to claim that the items were returned, but can't give me tracking info is poor business. Messages to their custom service system go unanswered.

I submitted a number of Louis Vuitton items to TheRealReal, including a limited edition Louis Vuitton briefcase which cost me $6,500. The briefcase was rejected--because their apparent 'brand experts in Louis Vuitton' didn't know how to open it (which only required sliding a button)! Without contacting me, they sent it back. It came back in a totally ripped open, bashed up box which UPS had taped together! See photos. No bubble wrap; no other protection except some flimsy pouch. To make matters worse, I immediately called and talked to my 'relationship manager'--and he committed to have all my other matching items (a roller suitcase, a watch case, a toiletry back, a passport cover--an entire set of the same type of LV items) returned to me. Then, four days letter, I get a notification that one of these items has sold! Horrible horrible experience.
This the first time I purchased something from the real real, and I am so dissapointed. I was on the Net Porter site and somehow it took me to the real real site and I purchased a dress and when I received it, I wasn't happy with it cause it was one size to large and immediately returned it with the return label they sent with the dress, then I got an email saying that they got my consignment. This is a total scam! I was told the process was once they got the item, it would be appraised, then I would be contacted to approve the appraised price and if I did not agree, they'd send the item back to me. I sent them a brand new, with tickets and all, $300 wallet. I never heard back from them until they sold it for $40. I was enraged. I told the that was an insane price. They looked int it further and said I was right and it should have been sold for $85! So they said they owed me $18!?!?! I have not received a dime from them. They never get back to my constant inquiries regarding this. Do not use them. They will scam you!

I returned 3 items and got refunded for 2. I emailed about this several times and there is no response. I feel like I have to babysit them and track my returns and refunds. Still not resolved.

The Realreal's reply has not solved the issue, so it continues to waste time. The ad blocks the size choice box really important when shopping for clothes or shoes. They have given no instruction how to close & eliminate this from screen. Acknowledging email does nothing to fix issue.

I've purchased from therealreal.com more times than i could begin to count-- many, many purchases over the past few years... never been disappointed-- not even once-- i've always been beyond satisfied-- every single time... this is a fantastic company & they really know what they're doing-- that much is clear...

I first contacted customer service for a wrong item shipped. I emailed and sent picture of the item. They sent me a label for that item rot return. I called back and asked if I can return that dress with the rest of items that I didn't like from the same order. I was instructed to put all in one box and shipping labels inside. I also put a note on return slip for the wrong dress. Items were return but refund for the wrong dress never given. Still shows like I never return it and its taking over two weeks and couple of emails without resolving the problem and still no money is refunded. So they send me a wrong dress and don't refund my money even for that. Unacceptable.

Returned an item of expensive jewelry in person at Madison Ave, NY store (not via mail). Was told it takes 2-3 days to re-authenticate the item and then refund will be made. Chasing the $6,000 refund a week later, just receiving holding emails. Basically extremely poor return process (they seem to believe they can give you a refund whenever they happen to get around to it) and extremely poor customer service when being chased-respond after 2 days-basically saying "we will get back to you". This is not a place to buy expensive items if there is any chance you will return them. They have the item back, and a week later I have not received a refund and have no timeline on when that will happen. Simply amazing, but lesson learned. Buyer beware. Next stop-credit card company to have charge reversed.

RR has some great things about it. I have been buying things for a long time.
Selling with the RR - sometimes they price things too low, sometimes they put the wrong size or material. I would give it a 6 out of 10.
The description of items varies widely and is not always correct. When I reached out to TRR to request a full return (with shipping refunded), I got no response despite several efforts until I complained on FaceBook. Once I returned the item, I was given a site credit and not a credit card refund. I had to call to correct. Also, I returned two other items that arrived at TRR on 7/30 (I received a notice), but by 8/3 had received no refund. The TRR staffer said she would send a message to the warehouse. Still no refund

The staff are quick and courteous while answering questions, shipping is fast and reliable, and if there are any issues they always sort it out.
I was given the run around, I called three times and I sent an email that I never got any reply.

Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
