I ordered a t-shirt. It never arrived. Customer service has so far been no help. I've been waiting nearly 2 months now.
I bought a pair of Tod's shoes marked as Eupen 38.5 however when I received them, they are 38. I asked for sponsored return however they just ignore my emails. I sent at least 4 emails to ask for help but nothing was offered.

Seemed great as they had good prices. I entered my email wrong when I signed up. When I received my order, one top was the wrong color, and the zipper was detached from the skirt. I reached out and asked for a refund. They said I had to contact them through the email I used to purchase the order. I explained I entered the wrong email, as they don't ask you to verify it. Then they told me if I can't access that email that doesn't exist, Tbey can't help me. I filed a dispute with my cc company, to which they responded saying they tried to help me through the wrong email. What a joke. It went back and forth until Chase just gave me the credit. I'm angry they didn't get a chargeback. Never again. Check out their Facebook- everyone hates them.

Warning. What they return when you consign will not be in the condition in which you turned them over to the Real Real. Brands such as Akris, Lafayette, etc. will not be in any shape to consign to others or to return to your wardrobe. Leather jacket completely crushed and wrinkled beyond recovery.(See photos). What is salvageable will need to be redrycleaned and pressed since they were returned completely crushed. Estimate drycleaner bill over $100. All were pristine when handed over to RealReal. Deeply disappointed.

I have bought a few items from the RealReal and the products are top quality and I am pleased with that. What I don't understand is how I end up paying a balance of $33 for shipping fees because I returned the merchandise. I don't think that's right. I will not buy anything else from your company. See how I faired better not placing an order at all.
The RealReal lost 3 out of 4 items from my last consignment and it was up to me to chase them down to reimbursement me for these "lost" items. Beware!

Their website has glitches and errors with purchasing and they are unresponsive in the context of resolving the issue.
It's annoying because the 70% of the time the site is fine. Some issues with products but overall good particularly if you are shopping online from outside the US.
But god help you if you run into one of their numerous issues. You will be told to call them (internationally?!? You have Skype?!?) Oh and to wait. They love that. You will never get a solution or the problem fixed. They will wait you out until you just give up and move on.
So enjoy your shop but do so knowing it's like walking on the most beautiful beach in a lightning storm with a metal flag pole on your back. Views great but chances are you'll get hit a few times.

Consigning items is a real mistake. They underprice your items, take over a month to return them and actually lost one of my items. Customer Service was and has been terrible this entire time. Some luxury service company.

This business appears to be a great way to make some quick cash on your valuable items. After being prepped by the first person doing the intro, you are convinced and excited. It goes down quickly from there. The initial person gave a ballpark of what the items would be sold at but then it was listed for much less! It wasn't long before they changed a price of an item, reducing it to 30% when I was told this would not happen, they would notify you first. Of course the item would be sold for that price so quickly, it was ridiculously low! This is such an unprofessional company as they also don't answer emails right away after you request for your items to be pulled from sale and returned. They don't consider or communicate with you. Do not think of doing business here!

This company is so large and receives so many items. If something is lost, a price is made up! Example: leather Kate Spade handbag new with tags and in original box was lost and sold as a plastic purse. RR assigned a price of of $45. And then took their commission. Whenever I have questions, I am told the department will be notified of the problem and two weeks later nothing is resolved. All I want is the rest of items to be sold and items that were not taken to be returned to me. Ie: sterling silver sugar tongs, Rosenthal pieces and jade earrings. All I can say, all runs smoothly until you hit a snag. I will NEVER consign again. Seller beware!

I love thrift shopping and do it a lot. I've gotten some good stuff from Real Real, but it's way too hit or miss for the price tags. I've placed 6 orders with about 2-7 items in each order. First order was for 2 sweaters - all was good. Every order after that has had at least 1-2 items that did not have accurate descriptions of the condition - the items had stains, were a different size than described, and/or I was sent the wrong size. I ordered a size 7 shoe and was sent size 11, I checked the order and saw I ordered the size 7 pair but was sent the wrong pair (then I had to pay for the return?). My last order - a silk blouse had stains on the FRONT of the shirt, another shirt had stains too, and a pair of Fendi pants in another order were way too big but labeled as XS by Real Real (there's no way these are XS, they're huge on me, I can wear XS and S, these are at least a medium). One of the sweaters I ordered smells strongly of perfume. In a different order, a Diane V Furstenberg dress with tags still on has faulty button snaps - none of my friends get the buttons to snap either - clearly it was from a factory mishap batch or something. I thrift and i go to estate sales, and I'm fine with 'second hand' clothing issues, but usually I pay way less for the same quality as this. Real Real would be great if they clearly described the damage/condition and if the damaged items were way cheaper. Or just don't sell it. A designer shirt doesn't hold value if it's stained. A stained shirt shouldn't be sold for more than like 2 bucks. Also a lot of the items are from really old collections. If they seriously work on their quality control, it could be a great place to shop.

Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!

Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,

Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
