Have had 3 issues with TRR.
1.1st order, they sent the wrong item; ordered a purse received a keyholder. Took forever for refund.
2. Packaged never arrived, went route to dispute through PayPal, delivery courier, still all denied; no bag, no refund.
3. Got sent a lower quality bag paying for a great condition bag. Disputed again, TRR said, OK send it back, we will refund! OK, sent it back asap, to still waiting over 2 months for refund. Contacted support numerous times to last conversation them saying, bag sent wasn't bag I initially received. You're kidding me, right? I tell them, fine, send the POS bag back, I rather have a $#*!ty bag (that I'll have to spend time restoring) than no bag or no refund... Contacted again, to a "we're looking into it" what's there to look into? They denied my refund so send me back the bag!
It's been 7 months no one on the realreal.com teams fix the problem it's 3 times someone's in their warehouse stolen jewelry out of my box all jewelry need to go to Chicago those 14k gold bees value over 4,000 now it's time to get a lawyer to settlement this case mrs Jenkins plays games take you round in circles this matter need to go farther then how low down they did customers on the Chanel's fake purse
I have successfully sold some high end, designer purses with Real Real in the past so they periodically chase me for more consignment items. In September I was offered a special promotional rate of 75% for designer bags consigned by the end of that month. I gave them a LV travel bag I had rarely used, which was in exceptional condition and had all accessories. Since October, when the item listed, I have been trying to get confirmation of the commission rate and have three separate texts confirming.but that rate never showed up on my account info. Today I was told by a rep on their chat page that the rate is 67% in accordance with their commission chart. Doesn't matter that I have confirmation from two separate RR employees in 3 texts of the promotional rate! I asked that the item be returned to me and now, based on other reviews on BBB site, I am holding my breath to see if I will receive it and, if so, what condition it will arrive in! Unethical business practices.
I submitted multiple items for consignment. Several still have t made it to the site and they were picked up before Thanksgiving Among them was an unused shawl by Hermes for quick high end resale and when it was finally listed (that took nearly a month), it was marked down nearly 50%! I asked The Real Real to return it. They said it would take 30 days to get from New Jersey to NYC. At my insistence I told them to expedite the shipment. A tracking number was created and when the box arrived, out came two pairs of old Gucci shoes instead of what was supposed to be my returned Hermes shawl! Now no one can update me and the same bot has been giving me canned messages how bad I must feel. Shocking! Police report has been submitted and my insurance company will be getting the next call. DO NOT CONSIGN WITH THEM!
I would give these folks 0 stars out of 10. This company scammed me out of a $430 Prada wallet and they gave me $5 for it! $5! Will be going to my local news station consumer advocacy group and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I will tell all of my friends and family how horrible this company is. Please don't use them!
I sent them a pair of Christian Louboutins never worn. Only tried on in the store on the rug. The described them as slightly discolored and shows some wear. Never mentioned they came in the box with price and all of dust bags. These shoes still had the paper Stuffing in them. They listed them at $525 but then they to 20% off. They never told me they mark items down from the price listed. Please, Please, Please stay away from them. I am hoping for the day they go out of business for fraud and they get sued
Went to the RealReal in New York, had a wonderful time. The people there were awesome. Helped us a ton. Went home and downloaded the app hoping to order things in the future. Both myself and my girlfriend downloaded the app, and each made an account, as it asked us to do. Placed an order on my account and it went through just fine, as did my girlfriend as well. Unfortunately, I was not aware that if I used the same credit card on both accounts, it would flag each account after the first purchase, and forever end our shopping experience. Ever since that order was placed, each account has been blocked from ordering anything. Keeps sending me errors such as "credit card declined" or "try another card." I have reached out to the customer service and help department roughly 10 times, with no resolution. Each time I'm basically told "we have looked at the issue, and updated your account, you should have no issues going forward." As awesome as that sounds, each time we have the same issue. Sad to say we will both be deleting the app because of the issues we have faced. Super simple issue to correct, and we cannot get anywhere.
If you are in New York, 100% worth a trip over there. Otherwise, ensure you only make one account per credit card you plan on using. I understand trying to make sure one user isn't making multiple accounts, and having a way to make it hard to do that, but this is ridiculous.
I have been a member of thereslrealreal.com for about a year and I constantly receive emails showing the various items allegedly for sale on their site- however, once I click on the item and am directed to the site, the item(s) is "unavailable." This has literally been the case for the past year whenever I receive an email about items. I honestly don't think it's logistically possible to be out of stock that many times fo that many items. It truly makes me question the site's integrity!
I purchased a Cartier watch which unfortunately was accompanied by a cheap debeers band; which was not stated in the description of the watch. Customer Service couldn't have given a rats $#*!: as in zero customer services and no attempt of making it better and I will never buy anything in that price point again.
Anything beyond $50 is risky with the real real $#*!ty.
I bought 2 bags to try on, then try to return 1. I didn't know it nonreturnable. So I have to reconsign it, which mean resale it with 30% commission lost. I have to wait for more 2 months to get the bag sold. I bought it for $1050. They couldn't sell it so they lower the price to $836. Now, I lost nearly 50% for just return the bag. What a horrible experience.
Seriously pissed. I've had problems with the past 3 orders I've placed with them. Once they charged me and then said they just didn't actually even have the item so they refunded me in the form of site credit not even a real refund which I then thought oh well I'll use it i guess so I did and it HASNT COME IN THREE MONTHS. It was meant to be a present and the date is well passed. Customer service hasn't even bothered responding to my emails.
Amazing Quality! The quality of the items I ordered far surpassed my expectations. In every way - this was a bargain and a benefit for our organization.
If you are thinking about selling your items on this site, just don't. They get majority of the list price while you get barely anything. I would recommend using Poshmark instead, as you can control the price and have a guaranteed commission worth your while. Avoid The RealReal at all costs!
Wallet was fine. Lied about shipping gave wrong dates it was shipped wring ups tracking wrong usps teacking for same package. Amanda and chanel didn't seem to care. No compensation for my trouble getting a letter from the post office saying the tracking number was going to a different person. Said was mailed dec 13 on my e mail was not it was mailed ups on Dec 15 just thrown in a box with no wrapping at all. Never went through post office as customer service said. They tried to blame them. They should have refunded me the shipping or given me a apology or discount on the wallet. Noone cared giving 2 stars because the wallet was nice otherwise would give 0 stars
I purchased a Gucci Marmont belt from the real real, and had it third-party authenticated in which it was deemed counterfeit. Even before I had it authenticated, I doubted it's authenticity due to some poor quality stamping of the copyright logo and a piece that had no stitching where I knew there should be some. I always get my purchases third party authenticated through Real Authentication due to the lack of expertise and high volume required by the Real Real for their "expert Authenticators." I sent the belt back with detailed documentation from Real Authentication on why it was deemed counterfeit and was immediately refunded all of my money. The reason I am giving them 0 stars is because what happened next. The Real Real relisted and sold the returned counterfeit belt! They KNEW this was not authentic, yet failed to pull it from their site and knowingly sold a counterfeit to someone trusting that the Real Real authenticates their items. Someone paid $385 for a FAKE Gucci belt, only for The Real Real and the consigner who sent in a fake belt to profit. After this experience, I will not buy anything from The Real Real. They should change their name to The Fake Fake. After this experience I realized if I want confidence in authenticity, the only sure bet is to buy direct. I purchased the Gucci Marmont belt directly from Gucci. I would've saved myself a lot of hassle and the $35 to authenticate a counterfeit item.
I dropped off four items, all four brand new (w/o tags). They don't give you any idea what they will sell for. They put one of the items on sale less than a week after it was listed. The other two were priced so far below what they were worth as to be laughable. Their customer service is terrible. I asked for three of the items back over a week ago and have heard nothing. I contacted them today, and it took nearly forty minutes to be told I'd get them back in a week with no tracking numbers. One item, a $1500 Ferragamo bag they say in not in their system. Life WTF? DON'T SELL WITH THEM.
Messed up my consignment to others, and after 10 times conversion with customer service finally they paid the money but still not deposit to my bank account, have to push again and again. And need to repeat to describe to different person every time and they are not aggressively to solve the issues.
I tried to purchase a pair of Chanel Trainers 4 TIMES! All 4 times the purchase went through. After about 10 minutes I would receive an email saying that my order has been cancelled and that I would be refunded for the purchase amount. Recently, I went back on the website to see if the sneakers were still available only to find out they had been purchased…… I guess I wasn't a suitable buyer?
They will not speak to you. They will not refund you anything and they won't take 90%of the clothes back. If they do you will not see a refund either. Good luck getting customer service. Just a huge nope I sent through and divide up the conclusion with my work team.
Purchased a bag that stated it was in very good condition- that's frightening as this bag is in very poor condition and has stains inside and scratches on the outside that weren't mentioned in the sales ad. Very disappointed. Not to mention huge duties charges coming into
Canada.
Answer: Do not buy from them! Their return/refund policy is skewed to their benefit. In my case, I bought a Louis Vuitton bag and when it was received it was not in the condition advertised or the photos did not highlight the real wear of the bag and they refused to make a refund or credit. It's their lost because I have since bought many bags on Ebay which offers guarantee of refund should item be faulty or misrepresented. Also, on Ebay you can judge by seller feedback whether the seller is reputable and PRICES are so much less than on the REAL REAL. Their name should be changed to the REAL GREED!
Answer: Hi Samantha. The RealReal does sometimes ask for additional information from customers for a one time security check. Most times, this is for new customers who have never shopped with us before, orders with vastly different billing and shipping information, or are international customers with unverified credit cards. We will ask for some sensitive and personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of the purchaser but we will not ask for a Social Security Number. Was your father attempting to complete his purchase via Affirm? Affirm is a third party company we work with that offers financing on purchases. If your father was attempting to complete a purchase via Affirm, they do require a SSN for a soft credit check for the loan approval and repayment options. As Affirm is a third party, we do not have access to any of that information so it is secure with Affirm. Of course, no one is required to use Affirm for check out, rather it's just another payment option we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if this does not answer your questions or if you feel that the explanations provided were not applicable to your situation. You can reach out to our Customer Service Department at (855) 435 5893 from 8am to 5pm (PST). If you would like to speak to a supervisor directly, please feel free to ask for Caitlin from our NJ office. She is available from 9am to 6pm (EST) and of course you can reach us via email at: [email protected].
Answer: If you like to be frustrated, disappointed and want to take a few years off your life, then yes consign with the real real.
Answer: I do NOT recommend selling through TRR. Read all seller reviews. This a speed selling co trying to cash in on a quick commission. The prices they assign are RIDICULOULOUS at best. They are not there to get you a good price but a fast buck for themselves. They priced a brand new prada bag with a label on at $625. Minus 20% permanent discount, 60% of that, I receive a whopping $312. After 10 days wait of processing and seeing the prices assigned I pulled my items. I was shocked and even more upset. I rather give the cloths to charity or sell them myself. I think it is insiders who buy the best items at dirt cheap prices they assign themselves. As a buyer just today I receive a wrong item. They were going to research the problem and find the item I purchased, a coat. They sent me a dirty silk top... This is after waiting for 10 days to get the wrong item. This co is just very bad. Customer service is spotty. Some reps are just dreadful. They sound like this is a summer gig and they got no training, you can never speak to a supervisor, none is ever available, Read the reviews and decide if you still want to use this co. If you do, you will be disappointed,
Answer: Hello, We are sorry to hear of your concerns. If you can please send us your order number or email address we will happily research this further.
Answer: Hi Frank, Thank you for reaching out. We apologize you have seen more negative than positive reviews. We would be pleased to advise you on our consignment process and share a little more insight about the RealReal.
Answer: I don't work for The Real Real I am just a satisfied customer, very satisfied! I see all the complaints, and just shake my head. Knowing how people can be, and also knowing the complainers are the ones who write letters, I can only assume they are "out of touch with reality", or POSSIBLY are competitors who are just being difficult to try and hurt the site. Remember, anyone can write anything, that does not mean it is true, nor are ALL the facts being presented! As for me, I am willing to show, and prove who I am, and the great products and service I received.
Answer: This happened to me only one time, and I have sold quite a few items with them. As soon as I received the quote for a pair of earrings. I contacted them immediately and said I felt the price was to low due to various reasons, and they got back to me the next day with an adjusted price. I have never experienced what you are describing above as a bait and switch scenario, and I always check the similar or same items they are selling. I would just call them and ask for the details as to why the other item is higher. Sorry you had a bad experience!
Answer: File a complaint with the US Customs office in your area and your state's attorney general. Also for many types of goods, they will destroy the counterfeit goods and give you a letter stating they have done so. This is ironclad proof for the bank dispute.
Answer: I have returned things with no hassle at all.
