Terrible Company when it comes to ethics. They allow people to review your Business with nothing but Lies and unconfirmed facts. They even allow the Customer to say DO NOT Hire XXXXXX... Major No No in the employment world but Knot with the Knot! I have sent certified letters to their legal departmant stating their errors but still, they would rather stick with their paid members lies! Even if they are your competitors. Not a great company. Do not put your company profile there. You can do much better on your own. Honestly. They do not seem to understand publishers have a responsibillity when it comes to defamation. Say anything you want about me but never allow someone imply I am something without proof of a prior history! Never let someone say they viewed something without proper facts. Because in this case they never saw anything but what was rolling in their own minds!
This company is horrendous to work with. I ordered my wedding invitations from the knot almost three weeks ago and spent over $400. I've called 4 times with NO RESPONSE. I've emailed about 15 times just to get one response asking if they are approved. The invitations were approved weeks ago. Now I'm being ignored and have a wedding in October with no hope of getting the invitations out anytime soon. They'll take your money on the spot, then ignore you until it's too late. I'm going to be cancelling my order with the knot. What a nightmare. DO NOT USE THE KNOT. THEY DO NOT CARE HOW IMPORTANT YOUR WEDDING IS TO YOU.
Hi Alexis,
We are so sorry to hear you have not been able to get in touch with our Invitations team! When you have a moment, please send us a direct message with the email address you used to reach out. We will be happy to get you connected and ensure your messages went to the correct team. We look forward to hearing from you!
Read Yelp and Google, and trust Pilot reviews. Go to BBB and scroll past all of the fake 5 star reviews to the 1 star ones written about the true nature of this company's business practices. They are all the same story; over and over. Go to their customer complaints on BBB and read those. These people are NUTS, dishonest, unethical, liars, and have serious business practice issues.
Save your time and money, and piece of mind and DO NOT do business with them.

One of our friends used this site for their wedding. We booked our hotel room through the site and we were charged double the block rate. We've been trying to get in touch with someone from the site since we booked through them and we've reached out to every "customer support" option with no success.
Hi Miranda,
We partner with a company called HotelPlanner to offer this booking feature and would be happy to help you get in touch with them! Please reach out to [email protected] so we can further assist you.
As a professional photographer for over 19 years I find it appalling to allow a customer to give me a bad review 3 years after I did there wedding based on the customer being satisfied at 1st then write the bad review only after they didn't get what they wanted for free. The knot would not take down the review as it was fraudulent and unfair after 3 YEARS! They only care about vendors who spend high dollar amounts to advertise. I will never advertise with the knot, EVER!
Hi John, thank you for posting a review and we’re sorry to hear that your experience was not up to standards. We would like the opportunity to talk and investigate your feedback further. If you wouldn't mind sending us a personal message with your business details, we will be happy to get in touch and discuss this matter with you further! Thank you and we look forwarding to speaking with you soon.
This past April I booked a room through the knot (via phone) for two nights for a friends wedding in June. Over the phone I was given a rate of $208 plus tax per night and gave my information to charge it right away. I then received a confirmation email charging me $282.13 plus tax a night... Immediately (literally within minutes of receiving this email) I called to discuss why I was billed a ridiculously incorrect amount from what I was told/authorized them to charge. To my surprise I was bounced around to multiple people and even hung up on a few times. It took me hours of calling and waiting to finally get ahold of someone helpful. When I spoke to someone in customer service that listened to my original call and heard I was to be billed the amount I was told she told me she would put in a ticket to have me refunded... fast forward a couple weeks I didn't hear anything further and called again. And again took me over two hours to get a hold of someone and once I did they said they saw a ticket in for this but would put a second one to hopefully speed the process up. It is now JUNE and I have yet to get any of money back that I was wrongfully charged. This has literally been one of the worst experiences I have ever had to deal with. Fingers crossed I get my money back some day.
Hi Hannah,
We are so sorry to hear about your experience with the HotelPlanner service on The Knot! We are happy to help and would like just a bit more information about your booking. When you have a moment, please direct message us with your contact information and confirmation number for your booking.
Horrible business. If you are a wedding vendor ie. Photographer, dj, venue, coordinator etc. DO NOT use the KNOT they will provide you with 9 out of 10 Fake Leads. They tell you you can cancel if it doesn't work out but you can't. They will tell you they don't send people to collections, then you will get calls from collections! They will tell you they are sorry you were given misinformation... DO NOT USE THE KNOT. Or any other service run by the knot. There are a lot so look it up, and don't do it.
We apologize for your experience. We take the leads that come through our site very seriously, and we are always trying to ensure that we provide the best quality of lead to our Pros. To protect our vendors as best we can from spam, we have filters in place to try to prevent spam on our site. If you have any concerns with your leads, feel free to contact the WeddingPro Support team at [email protected] or 877-331-7752 to review further.
I had a poor customer service experience. I booked a room through The Knot as a guest at a wedding and wanted to modify my reservation. First of all I never received a confirmation of booking or an itinerary after I originally booked the room so I had to call to even confirm I had booked successfully and to get my itinerary number. The picture attached shows how the room was marketed when I booked, clearly stating that there is FREE cancellation. However, when they finally gave me my itinerary it said non-refundable. I have not been able to contact a useful person who has any information to help me, everyone I talk to is just playing dumb. Be careful, if you finally get someone to talk to they will say they are going to forward you to the customer service line and either they just hang up or send you back to the automated voice at the beginning. Additionally they wouldn't allow me to change the type of room from a single King to 2 Queens despite the room rate being the same. The room rate is also $20/night more expensive when booking through The Knot compared to booking directly with the hotel. I thought I was getting some kind of discounted wedding party rate but clearly I should have shopped around.
UPDATE:
After I left this review I was contacted and given a refund. I am happy with the end result but I don't think I should have to leave a review to get assistance. My experience was still poor. Rating updated from 1 star to 2 stars.
Hi Michael,
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this feedback! We have reached out to our hotel provider (HotelPlanner) they have advised the reservation was cancelled and a full refund has been issued as well.
We are so sorry to hear about your experience and we are taking this feedback to heart for future improvements in this process!
I have had a TERRIBLE experience working with them. If you are not a photographer this is not the site for you and DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM! You will not get your money's worth. I have asked them over and over to cancel the contract and they refused. I already don't make a ton on weddings and to have booked so few weddings is ridiculous for the amount you pay monthly! I would give them zero stars if I could!
We completely understand your concern. All of our advertising packages require a one-year commitment to ensure a consistent experience for couples, and to ensure that our Pros have the opportunity to be seen by engaged couples at all stages of the planning process. If you would like to further discuss ways to optimize your Storefronts on The Knot and WeddingWire for success, feel free to contact our WeddingPro Support team at [email protected] or 877-331-7752.
As a Wedding Professional The Knot and WeddingWire have helped increase my exposure on the web. I'm almost through a full year and it's been a success so far for collecting reviews and featuring myself on a platform that couples actively use to plan their wedding. As a custom stationery designer, my business isn't a "necessary" service for a wedding so I would say the traffic I get is good! Highly recommend this platform for advertising.
Thank you for the review! We're so glad to hear that you've had a great experience and that your business has benefitted from your partnership with The Knot and WeddingWire!
I was in the middle of emailing a team member from the knot and they said they were going to print the invitations and get them how I wanted. This was two weeks ago. I have already paid for invitations but they are nowhere to be found. The last time I heard from anybody was on the 1st of April. I have called, I have emailed, I even called and emailed customer service. No one is anywhere to be found. They just dropped off the face of the earth. Not only can I not reach someone, but I have no way of getting my money back to get invitations elsewhere. So now I'm screwed out of 175$. DO NOT print invitations out through the knot. They do not care about their customers and theres no way to call them to talk to a real person. You leave a message and are at their disposal at whether theyll bother to pick up the phone or not. They email you and say everything's in order, then dont ever contact you for weeks on end. The knot is not reliable and is a waste of money to spend on their services. Please, do yourself a favor and find a different site for your wedding planning for your own peace of mind!
I am very sorry to hear that you hadn't heard back from the team. I do want to take a look at this a bit more for you but will need your order information. Please email us at [email protected], Attn: Keri, and I will make sure we look at where the miss was and how we can make you whole again. Talk soon.
Don't Count on the not to accurately reflect your registries. It's cute for introducing your wedding party and giving your story. But add your own registry card to your invitations. This site kept dropping major department stores from the registry
I would love to look at this with you a bit more. PB and WS are one company and while we are partnered with them we don't always have access to the updates they are sending, which may include pulling a registry down. Happy to help though! [email protected], Attn: Keri - Let me take a look along with you.
This used to be good years ago! Now they have some sort of machine that follow up with your client's inquiry. Example your client goes to inquiry your work, at the end the computer says here is more 6 other photographers would you like to send the same inquiry to them? And that's where they will go away because they will see other people charging less money than you! Do not pay the knot!
They have now a co tract of 12 months and they don't tell you! When you want to cancel they just don't! And they don't give a shot about you! Horrible do not join! Spend your money in other platforms!
No clients are ever responding me it's being over 6 months! I can prove!

Unethical business and fake promises. Their whole presentation is a fake promise and their sales rep offer you deals that are not written down on a contract and then blame you for signing up. I wish I looked at the reviews before signing up with them. If you are a business, do not do it! Please save yourself. I did not receive not 1 lead from them and most of the messages ended up being fake people.

I have been in business for 15 years. I have a successful photography business and some of the best imagery in the world. All they did was take my money. Not ONE person I responded to contacted me back or even took a phone call. I believe this is a total scam and the people that I got "leads" from were totally faked. If your thinking about advertising on this don't do it. Do not throw your money away on this. I will be contacting BBB. They gave us a 50% off for two months in the midst of the pandemic on a closed island. But otherwise kept charging my card while we struggled to feed our family. Makes me sick just thinking about it.

Several time later they have done things against the contract that has cost us business. And we were paying $30,000 a year.
We're so sorry to hear of any negative experiences you may have encountered. We would love to look further into your account to see how we can best accommodate you. When you have a moment, would you mind sending your account information to [email protected]? We look forward to hearing from you!
* is the account manager that sold me the advertising service and is listed as my account manager on my non-legal binding contract/email. I've called the business numerous times and asked to speak to * and again at the end of our conversation for * to return my call. I've asked to revisit our initial conversation with * and I'm being avoided even through emails. As a paying customer, *, the Support Team or an acting manager should reach out me. It's been over two weeks and * still hasn't reached out to me with my legitimate concerns.
I overly expressed to * that I need to work in the ETX area closer to my home and family and it wasn't going to be an issue and selling ad services out of my requested area is an unethical business practice. My first comment with * from day one is that I didn't want to travel to the Dallas/Fort Worth area and the conversation should've stopped there, instead she was eager to take my credit card information over the phone, knowing the consequences. I reside in Tyler, not in the Dallas/ Fort Worth, Louisiana, Wichita Falls, Austin or the Houston area where 99% of the leads are coming from.
The leads are not quality, I noticed extremely poor quality leads very early on and they never got better. I've been in business a long time and know quality when I see it. Here's a perfect example from this week! One from Louisiana (? What?) and one from Austin, TX, (? 4 hours away?) and another for the state of Kansas. Why travel 5 hours each way knowing there are weddings happening closer to my home? * assured me my area was for the East TX area and assured me that the advertising service would be a great investment. Not a single conversation with a prospective client, not a single booking and not a single dollar. Upon further investigation after my legitimate concerns, I found many others like me feeling scammed by this company with no quality leads whatsoever to help their business in any way. I wish I would've done more research before I contacted this business (TheKnot & WeddingWire)
They currently have a 1.5 out of 5 stars on the BBB, TrustPilot, Yelp and etc. This is a true reflection of the company and a really bad investment on my end!

We've used theKnot, WeddingWire, Gigmasters (theBash) and GigSalad to promote our band. TheKnot did well for us and then the Covid Apocalypse hit. I would have renewed our contract with them, if it hadn't been for their new "diversity filter." Basically, they give couples the choice to only look at vendors that meet their race qualifications.
Here's the list they sent me:
Black-owned
Asian-owned
Hispanic or Latinx-owned
LGBTQ+-owned
Native American-owned
Pacific Islander-owned
Women-owned
Veteran-owned
If any of those categories are selected as a filter, you won't show up... if you're not in that category. If you're a white male vendor, you'll never be seen. I think they meant well, but didn't think it through. We chose not to renew because of that.

Wedding Pros, the parent company that owns theknot.com and weddingwire.com, are strict with their contract and will not give any grace period even though there are government-sanctioned lockdowns.
I asked to pause my contract and they refused even though they are aware that many couples are unable to book events. They basically received a free $3600 from me for me to put my name on their website.
While I got leads, none of the leads are materializing because the lockdowns continue to get pushed further and further back.
There is an "end-of-business" option to opt-out but they require you to take down your entire online presence.
Sign the contract if you want to feel like Prince getting screwed over by his record label and a random entity having control over how you advertise your business.

The Knot is run with fraudulent and deceptive advertising practices.
Their Vendor * Wedding Photographer was a no show at my daughters wedding, and she refused to return our very sizable deposit. I tried very diligently to leave a review on The Knot Web page warning future clients. I was able to document everything as per The Knots requirement for reviews. I've had multiple interactions with management each time promising that they will post my review, and still nothing posted. The knot seems to have a policy of only posting five star reviews. Please be aware before using this web page.

Hi Todd,
Please reach out to our Review Dispute Team by emailing [email protected] so we can further investigate this for you. We look forward to hearing from you!
Answer: My honest opinion... do not use theknot.com for your wedding. It crashes often and can be extremely frustrating. Believe me... I used it and was locked into using it because it was on all of my invitations. My best advice: use weddingwire.com. But, if you're not going to listen to my advice or are locked in and stuck as I was, go to your wedding website (not in preview mode) and click on guest list from the dashboard... well... After 9 attempts, TK will not load properly so that I can step you through it (everything else on my computer works great). Sorry, that's all I have for you. I hate theknot.com!
Answer: Tell them the same thing they say to you when you contact them for help in any way! "I don't think it is in our best interest! You are on your own... Good luck with that!"
Everything you need to plan your wedding, literally! Wedding dresses, planning tools, wedding ideas, inspiration, photos, plus the best wedding vendors.
