I ordered a pair of boots as I try to shop Canadian as much as possible. I went online after 3 weeks waiting for them and noticed that they had been "returned." My credit card has been refunded for the entire price. I never received them to return them and now when I try to re-order them it will not accept my credit card. Poor service! Needless to say, Amazon will have them here in 4 days. I will not order from the Bay again
Over a month ago, I wrote to Hudson's Bay explaining that it issued an invalid gift card. I sent Hudson's Bay a picture (jpeg file) of the invalid gift card. I explained that when I entered the gift card number and PIN, the Hudson's Bay system told me "invalid number of PIN." Had the customer service representatives paid attention to the jpeg file attached in all of my 10 emails to Hudson's Bay, they would have seen they issued me an invalid gift card. Not only do the customer service representatives completely disregard my issue, they are very unapologetic and tell me to contact the Gift Card department, after our 10+ email exchanges, each of their responses being a generic message completely unrelated to my gift card issue I described thoroughly. As a customer, I wasted over one month of my time dealing with the worst company ever, and I didn't get any compensation for all the trouble this company caused me. Don't ever purchase from Hudson's Bay!
ADVICE FOR THE BAY: Don't send an automatic email claiming you are happy to resolve the issue until it's actually resolved. Otherwise, it just adds fuel to the fire!
In short, these guys are not built for online shopping. If you are lonely and have tons of time to spend on hold waiting for customer service over and over, this is the place for you!
I have been shopping at the Bay forever, with the pandemic I decided to try the shopping online with the app. OMG, what is wrong with this company in 2021!
They screwed up the order, and although I was disappointed, I was not upset as this can happen to the best of us. Mistakes happen, how we handle them is what sets us apart. I called customer service figured a quick call to The Bay would set things straight. I wait on the phone and all that Jazz. When I finally speak with a human, she was very polite, tells me she will put me on hold, and hangs up. Its followed by an email that says "they were happy to resolve my issue", except they didn't. I call back again, lose more time to get through to a human who again apologizes, says she will put me on hold, after 12 minutes of on hold music, she hangs up again! And yes... I get another email saying they were happy to resolve the issue. I call back a 3rd time, now I'm upset. This time it was a guy, he seems to be more competent, but cant explain the mix up, says a manager will call me back in 24-48 hours. I don't get a call back, but guess what, I get another email saying they were happy to fix the issue!
Now I'm super frustrated, not sure who to call or what to do, as the phone guys are either powerless to do anything, or are incompetent. Not sure if a manager will ever call, and the friggin store is closed due to covid! Save yourself the trouble.
Worst customer service ever. I am still waiting for my refund after 65 days and still nothing. Now I get why ppl shop from Amazon!
I bought snowpants for my son but they sent a tiny small Christmas ornament. And they did not give my refund
Can I select no stars? Do not purchase from the Bay online! They sent me the wrong watch, and then made me pay to ship it back to them, where they didn't even update me that they received the return. I am now told I have to wait weeks before getting my money back, for a mistake they made. The watch is expensive, and there has been no acknowledgement of the money I am owed, or the frustration I have been put through, just to have my order corrected. I am so fed up.
I an disappointed and appalled that this iconic Canadian department store has outsourced their customer service department. Since ordering three rugs on October 18,2020, I have made 6 calls and written 5 emails to "Customer Service", a term I use lightly because of the frustrating lack of service from people with limited English skills. I did not receive any rugs, and have received a partial refund. No one was able to explain why the rugs didn't arrive, except for telling me after multiple calls, that the third rug was sent to the wrong address. I received a response to an email on December 7 saying a refund was issued, but I wouldn't get the money for 21 business days. I am still waiting on January 6,2021.
What a scam! I have reported HBC to the Better Business Bureau of Ontario and written a letter of complaint to the Corporate Office in Brampton, Ontario. I think all of us dissatisfied customers need to publicize this company's bad business practices!

I bought an Instant Pot Duo Nova 6QT from Hudson Bay for $129.99, online. Within a day or two, another store - Real Canadian Superstore had the same item for $79.98.
I sent Hudson Bay a copy of the ad showing the same item on sale for $79.98. I made repeated tries by e mail, calling customer service, etc. They refuse to price match. I could return the item to Hudson bay, but now the item is no longer on sale at the other store.
Be wary of buying items at Hudson Bay - they do not price match - will give many reasons not to price match.
I was very surprised to read the low rating as I have dealt with the bay for years and have always had great service. If I wanted to return anything i purchased online or in person I have never had any problems. I usually return items because I order it in 2 different sizes. I love the bay
I've had an issue with a purchase/delivery that I've been calling about since November 18th, 2020. I have yet to get any kind of response. What I've encountered is:
• a plethora of "customer service" phone numbers, most of which pass me around to several options before cutting off the call
• even when I call the store directly I was passed around to several options before being cut off
• when I have managed to speak to a "customer service" agent, I've been put on hold and then the call is cut off
• when I just called and asked to speak to a supervisor rather than dealing with a front line agent, I was put on hold and then, you guessed it, the call was cut off
• I've had no responses to my emails… until I got something this morning to say "We're happy we were able to assist you in resolving your issue" – seriously?!
This kind of treatment, not unique to me, is shameful! I understand Tiffany Bourré issued a statement: "We aim to make each customer experience memorable and positive, including reaching customer service support easily". If this was truly a goal, which I'm not at all sure it ever was, the failure has been monumental. HBC has a CTO responsible for process improvement and yet one of the most essential customer experience processes does not work AT ALL! I dare say Kerry Mader and Stephen Gold should also be ashamed by the state of customer service.
Dear Hudson's Bay I know your struggling right now but mistreating customers isn't right. When people kindly ask for a refund you should respect that and give the person their refund back. Holding on to someone's money isn't right. Pretending to don't be able to refund but when ask for the head office phone number magically a refund can happen. People work incredibly hard for their money and come to your establishment to shop because of its name. I could believe that you attempted to within hold my refund for a month. The customer service person tried to lied and say their wasn't anything that could be done. My adds insult to injury is that I never got to pick up the product and then another lied came when Hudson said I had a 20 minute window to cancel my order. There is no where on the site or on the checkout window that indicates this or stipulates that you have a 20 minute window. This is pathetic, unprofessional, unacceptable in every way. I will never shop at your establishment ever again because of this.
I'm really feedup from online customer service, unknoldge and can't help or solve any matter, in addition they hung on you any time with no any respect, the girl can be laughing with other representatives during talking to you... what a crazy service.
In addition, I placed order online, for 3 weeks no one know where is the order then after 22 days they told me it's returned back as wrong address!
What a joke... already same address have 3 shipment before, now they telling me my credit card will be refund in 14 days and now have to buy the item with regular price instead sale price as first order... very disappointed, I will return back anything purchased before within 90 days time frame.
Oh, just to let you know, if you ask to talk to supervisor forgot it, no one ever will got back to you... good like if you do any business with this garbage service online.
I had the worst experience with returning an article with Hudson's Bay. It's been 2 months that I returned a pair of boots and never received a refund. Today I had to call 4 times. They are fooling around and not giving me my money back. This is ridiculous. Never buying there again.
Two words. Don't order. Only do it if you want to run behind them and beg them to deliver your order.
So I placed an order on the 29th of November and the expected delivery times were 3-5 days. I received the tracking number so I was tracking through Canada Post. It said that my order will be delivered by 3rd December. I thought "okay that was quick!" Then I waited for the order and nothing until the night, next day I checked order status again on Canada Post and it said that it will be delivered by 5th December. I waited and nothing! Then 7th December nothing! I had bought this for my friend for birthday it's 12th today and still order have not been received!
Terrible customer service. Required about a price of an item and was told to go scan it myself. Salesperson could not be bothered to help me. Planned on doing my Christmas shopping there but just ended up leaving the near empty store. Extremely poor. Will not return
Ordered an item on Nov 24 with free shipping to be delivered by the 28th. Here it is December 2 and the item is still showing as "order in process", which means it hasn't even been shipped yet! Chatted with customer service and they said they have sent a notice to the manufacturer and when they get a response they'll let me know. Not holding my breath. Going to cancel the order and get it somewhere else. DO NOT BUY FROM HUDSONS BAY!
Cannot believe how difficult it is to shop online with thebay.com, there are so many glitches and customer service is having the same issues that I'm having and unable to place an order! Management doesn't care and refuses to help? Don't shop with the Bay they are not trustworthy.
I ordered Clinique eyeline and soap on September 13,2020. This item would weigh less than a pound, shipped from Canada to Canada. My location is not rural in fact I live on the busiest street in my city. I've emailed, replied to questions regarding my experience, contacted them on social media. Only reply comes from Facebook but still have not received my package. Next time I'll just order directly from Clinique. Really negative experience.
NEVER BUY FURNITURE FROM HUDSON BAY
I order 6 dinning chairs but they did not delivered all the chairs. They provided an excuse the item is discontinued. Seriously why did you charge me for an item which is discontinued.
In return, they did not process complete refund and its been over 2months I flighting for my refund. Hours of waiting on phone call and then their call centre people do not understand English very well. I doubt they are in Canada, seems like they are in some asian country.
Over all I learned my Lesson, do not think its a Canadian company and you will get amazing customer experience and products. DO NOT BUY ANY FURNITURE ITEM FROM HUDSON BAY.
NEVER NEVER NEVER think of buying any item from this Store:-)
Love the selection at The Bay.
Recently tried to use a new gift card online and it would not work. Called customer service and, although it took a while to sort out, it was not the customer service person's fault. He stuck with it, resolved the issue and and even sent me a new gift card to replace the one that wouldn't work without me even asking for that.
Answer: They are a legitimate company which is managed poorly.
Answer: After calling them several times many of which I was put on hold only to be disconnected I finally get through to a representative. Not an easy process at all
