After a terrible experience at Tom's place, I came to the bay to buy a suit. I was greeted by Pujal, an international student and employee of the Bay
He helped make the experience extremely pleasant.
His attention to my overall experience was that of a veteran in the I dustry, even though he later told me that he is relatively new to retail. This made it all the more impressive
He made the customer feel important, valued and did it in such a manner that I felt I was always being assisted by a professional.
If the bay has a management trainee program, I highly recommend he be considered.
He represents all that is great about Canada's openness to immigration and foreign students. He is a future leader.

Went to make a purchase of ~$100, should be free shipping, but no.
Some of the items were from their third party sellers and charged separate shipping fees.
I had emailed & complained, but they basically said "that's the way it is, too bad".
Is the Bay now the new Walmart?

I purchased sandals July 2021. I was not totally happy with my purchase so I returned. I received an email after reaching out to the Vendor re: my return. I received an email with return confirmation number and amount that I would be receiving on my credit card. I then mailed out the parcel. Later I received confirmation via email of receipt of parcel. I waited patiently for the credit to be posted on my credit card. I called and was advised to wait another month as they are second party billing or some nonsense of this kind. Another month went by and NOTHING! I've been calling now for several months. Only to be advised now January 2022 that I was paid, partial payment to credit card and the remainder in points. I DID NOT PAY IN POINTS. After several phone calls and tons of emails going back and forth. I GIVE UP! I cannot reason with anyone that is NOT worthy of understanding my situation. All I wanted was the funds credited to my credit card that I paid out. Like any other purchase that was returned. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY IS SO DIFFICULT FOR THE BAY - MARKETPLACE TO UNDERSTAND! I am not happy with the experience. I have NEVER experienced or had to wait months for a refund or deal with this incompetency. I will NEVER shop Bay - Marketplace again!

Your website states: "You can check the balance on a Hudson's Bay gift card at thebay.com on our gift card page" but the link only brings us to the gift card page where we can BUY a gift card. There is NO WAY to check the balance! SO YOU'RE LYING TO US?! Your live chat is another waste of time. After filling all the required fields the chat tells me that reps are available ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THE THREE REPS WHOSE FIRST NAMES APPEAR in the chat windows ARE NOT AVAILABLE and to leave a message!

After calling your 1-800 number and punching in my THE BAY gift card number 3 times and being told that I must be having trouble punching in the numbers and FINALLY talking to a live rep, your fricking rep in India or wherever wanted to know not only my phone number but also my name! ARE YOU PEOPLE FOR REAL?! What planet are you priceless people from!?
I purchased a Christmas gift through Hudson Bay marketplace last November. The recipient didn't like it so I tried to return it only to be told that I had to contact the 3rd party seller who in turn told me that it was past the 10 day return policy. I had to fight to get them to accept the return. I had to pay more than $60 for the return postage myself. After weeks of back and forth with the seller who wasn't receiving the package they finally accepted the package. I finally received a notice at the beginning of February from the Hudson Bay that I would be receiving my refund. It is over a month now and still nothing. I recently spoke with a customer representative who basically told me that it was my responsibility to get the refund through the 3rd party seller. Thank goodness I bought it through PayPal who assured me that they are investigating this.
I will NEVER EVER buy from Hudson Bay again. They don't stick behind their products and their customer care representatives don't seem to give a darn
Terrible customer service. A return was authorized and then they returned the item after several emails and phone calls because I had not received the refund. With Covid it made it impossible to make an in store return which was explained to the customer service representative on numerous occasions. Will never do business with Hudson Bay again, will shop from Simons, Nordstrom or Macy's. Ignorant email from customer service so called supervisor, which should be sent on a customer service relationship course. Advised them I would be writing this review but no response back. I guess they don't care about loyal customers.
First off you don't realize until it's too late that The Bay has started using a marketplace structure on their website. The reason I went on their site was because I trusted the store. Ordered cutlery for my wife and when UPS delivered I was charged more than 40$ in duties. I was flabbergasted that I would pay duties on a purchase done through The Bay. Furthermore the item didn't suit our needs and I wanted to return it to The Bay and I was informed that it wasn't sold by them so I would have to pay shipping to return the item. At that point I'll just buy from Amazon. At least I know what I'm dealing with there and I get free returns.
In Nov. 2021 order a coffee maker and 2 months later still did not receive it! Ask for refund in early January, still did not get my money back as of Jan 28! Never deal with Bay again and advise everyone stay away from bay online shopping
I placed online order before Christmas 2021, when I received my order two pairs of socks I paid for was missing... called customer service, they wanted photos of my order and my invoice. I send them photos they asked for. I never get my refund. Also when I got the NEO MC at the store they said I will get 50.$ in points. Guess what NEVER GOT ANYTHING. Called a few times for my 50$ they really don't care. Very disappointed customer ( WILL CANCEL THEIR MC.
A few years ago, I purchased a pair of "14K gold" earrings (with cubic zirconias, that's fine). I now find myself in difficult times and attempted to sell them. I paid $299.99 for these earrings over a decade ago and found out that they are "gold plated." I was floored. I contacted the Bay, told them the situation, and asked them, "What are you going to say? Do I have my receipt after over 10 years?" They replied, "[We're sorry, shop with us in the future, we love you.]" See attachments. I have stood by the Bay for decades, and have never been so appalled; I would not have expected it of them. Greed simply knows no bounds. It's pretty bad when your most favorite store for most of your life turns out to be run by crooks.
After ordering several items in November and being consistently told my items were on back order and will ship - I got 2 notices of cancellations 1 week before Christmas. I used Paybrite, paid both items in full and still do not have my refunds. Customer Service at the Bay was completely useless - not to and to mention, none of them spoke very good English. After 4 attempts for help with 4 different people - all ignored my requests and to this day I still dont have answers. Paybrite is trying to investigate. I will never make another purchase from The Hudson Bay again, used to be a great store but has gone completely downhill. - beware!
I've purchased a 900$ coffee table back in early October 2021 with the seller guaranteeing a delivery date by November 25th 2021. In late January 2022, after making 4 follow-up calls, I finally receive the table, but it's shattered in a million pieces. I politely ask for an exchange, but customer service wants to "audit" the pictures of my broken table before even talking about the possibility of taking it back. Therefore, I immediately send the pictures by email... A week later, I still have no news from customer service and I'm stuck with a 5'x5'x3' wood crate in the middle of my 600sqft apartment. I'm now in the process of having my credit card company refund the transaction as Hudson's bay is acting fraudulently at this point. If you're considering purchasing furniture, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
In the online store, It is impossible to remove an item from your basket if you change your mind. The search criteria makes it impossible to just look for a specific item and it takes forever to, find the item you want. In this day of e-commerce, having such a poorly designed online ordering system with no obvious access to help is inexcusable. This is the same disastrous issue that plagued
Sears just before they were closed down. Why?

The Bay does not seem to screen or vet their sellers, and there doesn't seem to be any repercussions if they're faulty or a scam.
I think they are running a bit of a scam online. I ordered a few Christmas gifts in October and I received two boxes with two separate tracking numbers. Both shipping labels read 1 of 1. One of the packing slips listed a pair of slippers along with a set of towels. I received the towels but the slippers were missing. I thought no problem, I still have a couple of months until Christmas, I'll just contact them.
Basically they said they would open a claim with the shipping company and refund my money. I emailed back asking if they could just ship me the missing item and I explained the error must have happened in the warehouse because the packing slip lists the item in the one box and the box said 1 of 1 so there wasn't a box missing. Anyways they responded saying I should have asked for the item originally because they already "refunded" me and it would take 21 days or the next billing cycle to see my refund.
Fast forward a month and still no refund. I wanted to let it go because the slippers weren't expensive at all but it's the principle of it all. So I emailed them and they asked if I checked my surroundings for the package. Like hello, I'm just following up on the refund that was supposedly processed. They said they can't process a refund because it shows the item arrived… so back and forth again I explained the package arrived but the item was missing and I was already told a refund was processed but I never received it. Keep in mind I'm replying to the same email thread so the customer service is a bit of a joke.
Still nothing and it's been 3 months! I paid with my visa debit (everyday bank account) and still no refund. I decided to try and contact them through social media to avoid the customer service agents, maybe get the issue resolved and for them to possibly avoid losing customers. They looked into it and said once again that the refund was processed and asked for my bank statements to prove I didn't get it. I thought that was odd but I sent it. Never heard back and still no refund.
BUYER BEWARE!
I spent about $400 on skincare products from Hbc on-line just before the holidays as a gift to myself in 2021. I had allergic reaction to the products and my face turned red and I had breakout's. Normally, when this happens, the retailers can take back the products and exchange them for different ones. In fact, had I purchased the same products (at the same price from Sephora), I would have received a FULL REFUND from Sephora. HBC denied an exchange for other products, and also denied a refund to Hbc gift card.
I was NOT asking for my money back -- just an exchange for other products that I could use, and Hbc's customer service denied it.
I will NEVER purchase skincare or cosmetics products from Hbc ever again. For the SAME PRICE, I am guaranteed a full refund at Sephora.
Lesson learned.
I ordered a pair of black jeans on November 26th and STILL have not received my order. By the time they arrive... sorry IF they arrive, it'll probably be summer. Very disappointed in The Bay's online order process. A lesson to me to NEVER order anything online from The Bay again!
I used many times. But most of the times happened. Oreder, comfirmed, and cancelled. Because it was out of stock.
One time, after confirmation, got delivery tracking number, and never Arrived. Their excused was mis scanned. N then cancelled because out of stock.
I ordered a purse from Hudson bay's store before Christmas 2021 and haven't received any update about my parcel and my refund yet and after calling their Customer care number they said my parcel was damaged.
I ordered the same purse again and this time i experienced the same problem. What kind of courier services they are providing to customers god's know. Worst experience ever i had.
Every time I buy something, They send it wrong. The shoes I bought are size 3, and they sent me a size 13 for a child. Just now I bought a set of pajamas for my son, and they only sent one piece. Clothes, but no pants. The socks I bought before were sent to me for newborns, but I didn't return them because I felt annoying, but now they're wrong. Their working ability is too bad. I really don't dare to go to the bay to buy things anymore. I don't dare to believe them anymore. I'm so disappointed.
Answer: They are a legitimate company which is managed poorly.
Answer: After calling them several times many of which I was put on hold only to be disconnected I finally get through to a representative. Not an easy process at all
