Good website, stumbled accross The House look for snowboard pants and found a killer deal. Search function is clunky however, slow to reload after changing search parameters and search options are incomplete. But i got a great deal and it showed up quick so im stoked.
The chain was to tight and the brakes were difficult at the beginning and my front bolts were so tight that is bent my piece that covers the Bering and now my front wheel has a wobble

From selection thru purchasing, The House website is extremely easy to use. There is a great representation from all the manufacturing lines for the powder sports I was looking for which was a win for sure.
I bought three hoodies and love each of them. They were describer wonderfully and accurately on the website, which I appreciate as I am always hesitate to but things online as I cant try them on first. But the fit guidelines were really helpful.
I did have some issues with shipping, but that is more to do with where I live and not The House. The only complaint I have about the shipping was the first time I called to find out if my address could be changed (my order was shipped USPS and the address I gave cant receive USPS, only UPS) the order had already shipped (which was awesome!) and was told they would either try to ship out a replacement order, since the first was going to be returned automatically, or would have to wait until the original order was returned and would let me know via email which was decided. I never received an email :( However, when I called back a few days later, I spoke with a manager who was super sweet (should have gotten her name) and took care of everything for me and got me my order within just a few days. So all happy here!
My first Forged brand bike from The House arrived with a bent front fork, unable to install the front wheel or use the bike. This was after they took a week to ship the bike. However, after calling them about the bent fork, they sent out a new fork right away without much hassle. As long as the new fork is good, I will be satisfied enough.
I cancelled my order right away after I ordered it because I realized with the conversion and the taxes it was past my price range.
The order was delivered to me anyway. I e-mailed them asking for a refund or if they could not refund me to ship a different one for free as the one that was delivered didn't fit regardless. They told me that I would have to pay to ship it back. I e-mailed back saying that I would like them to pay to have it shipped back because I had cancelled it to begin with. Never got a reply and now I'm stuck with this $250 jacket that I had cancelled.
Bought a custom-built "Fat Bike" and was impressed by the speed of delivery and also the overall quality of the bike. However, one of the cables was not routed correctly and I had to take this to a local shop to fix which was inconvenient, but not the worst thing. The House was very supportive in getting this fixed and reimbursed for the cost of the cable re-routing. I would definitely recommend them for someone interested in a mountain bike with premium components at a very attractive price.

Great quality boots fit nice and have a ton of ankle support. I cant wait to snowboard next season even tho short of funds and live in san diego where it nevers snows i always try to get up on the moutain
I bought a WindSUP package from them. It was shipped a few days late and only after I called. The shipping company that they used delivers only on Fridays so it was a few days more.
After I assembled the rig, I found that I was missing a part. I called customer service and was told that they will ship the missing part but that I should call Bill, the board expert. Bill works from 8-2 on some days. Bill will not call me back.
I finally got the missing part today (some 10 days after I placed the order) but it doesn't fit. May be because I have not talked to Bill.
In Short, if you find it in another store buy it there and save yourself a potential hassle with careless packing and shipping, and incompetent customer service.
The whole shopping experience is terrible. First, I couldn't track my order online. It kept telling me that my order# was invalid. Everyday when I called customer service, different rep. Gave me different reason why I couldn't check my order status online, and none of them was a valid reason. Second, every time when I called their customer service, there was a long holding time. Third (the worse), the site shows products in stock while they are not. I called the customer service the day after I placed my order, and I was told the order would be shipped out that night, and I would receive an email notification about the shipment. I didn't receive anything that night, so I called back the next day, the rep told me that they didn't have the product in stock; however, the product is still showing in stock while I am writing this review today. They not informing me of back order caused delay for me to look for the alternative. Fourth, their customer service was horrible. They made up stories, and the supervisor didn't pick up the call when I asked for transfer, and he didn't return my call when I left him a voice mail. I also emailed them online, and no one responded to me either. I wouldn't shop there again, and I will not recommend this site to anyone.
There are way too many companies online to waste your time and money with this one. I ordered a Roxy shirt and a pair of Reefs. The shipping stated 3-8 business days, I received it in 10. Not great to begin with, but not a deal breaker. When I opened the package, only the shoes were in there. The shirt was nowhere to be found. I called the company today to see what happened and they stated it was out of stock so they just didn't send it. I received no notification whatsoever. Too bad-I am leaving for vacation this week and was excited to bring it with me. Lackadaisical attitude and turtle slow shipping will have me directing my online business elsewhere!
Altrec can eat it, and I mean literally eat the jacket they sold me. Their Policies in 2011 were LIFETIME WARRANTY on ALL jackets. When I inquired a year later in 2012 they said that policy was no longer in effect. Fraudulent practice, bait and switch. It's bad enough that they sold a defective jacket, but it's just salting the wound when they won't stand behind their own policy. Online chat is non existent, customer service representative is rude when you call, and Aktrec flat out LIES about shipping times. Never again will this company get my money, and I'll make sure anyone else that's looking for gear stays away from Altrec.com as well.
Got a Nike men's snowboard jacket and did a return that I never saw a credit for. I emailed the company and they asked for an RMA which I provided. Then asked for shipping info, which I provided. After going through all the trouble of weeks back and forth emails, now after I provided all they requested information they just ignore me.
WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH ALTREC.
Really good site for outdoor and extreme sports products and supplies. They have fantastic deals and so far I have had nothing but good experiences from them. They offer a wonderful variety of items for wonderful prices. Many things I found on this site were much more expensive in store likes Zumez.It's very easy to navigate and they keep up with most recent products. Their customer service is superb and the shipping has been reliable and hassle free with online tracking provided to your email. I love this site.
