If I could give zero stars I would. Extremely high prices and they don't stand by their work! They are going to hurt Ikeas business. I used them to put together ikeas closets. I was quoted for 5 hours of work at 40$ per hour. Seemed reasonable.
However the task rabbit employee sent me a message asking if they could bring an extra person and they would be able to get it done quicker. I agreed.
Well boy was I wrong. It took 2 people 10 hours at 80$ an hour. My total came to $900+.
To make matters worse the doors on the closets started to come apart after 1 month. I reached back out to Task Rabbit and they said they cannot help me since it was after their 14 day policy. Such BS.
NEVER AGAIN!
Trust me. Save your money. Either don't buy IKEA or find another company to install!

We've completed around 30 tasks on this platform, NEVER AGAIN! There's ZERO quality control over the workers. Very common to have people overbill you, not complete the task as agreed upon, ask for more money, perform atrocious workmanship, take jobs they're not qualified for, show up late, etc. i'd estimate around 30% of projects have MAJOR problems, requiring you to re-book another worker (and of course, waste more money).

The issue is there's little/no recourse! If you try to get in touch with this task rabbit, they simply ignore the problem. They will suspend YOUR account without warning/notification, and when you inquire as to what's going on, they simply say "there's an issue, we'll contact you in a few days" (which of course never happens).

You have to end up disputing the charges with your bank.

Been burned by these idiots far too many times. Hire a professional company instead, it'll cost you FAR less time/money/headaches than dealing with these amateurs.

First-time Task Rabbit user for Ikea bed assembly. Had to go on the site and give credit card. Bad vibe right there. After completion of "profile" almost instantly got a text from a guy saying "thanks for hiring me." What? I asked for qualifications/experience. He seemed nice/legit enough but I just didn't like paying some total stranger to come into my house and spend four hours assembling something. I've done Ikea stuff before. I'll do it again, just for longer.

Wish i had seen these reviews - tasker overbooked i asked for 2-3 hrs he told me last minute he had a client at 1130a i was like how you gonna finish my task if you supposed to start here at 10a - i requested 2-3 hours
His response: none of your business
I cancelled his task of course -
Then task rabbit charged me - gave me a support line that was closed
Its a scam - i m report them to the consumer affairs bureau
Dont think america is the richest country and everything is fair and well - i have come across so many scammers its starting to feel like a third world country

Would you let a total stranger into your home or handle your property? Because that is exactly what you are doing with Taskrabbit. This company is awful. They seemingly do NOTHING to vet the people who come to perform tasks. Take this as a cautionary tale, total strangers are being let into your lives and they can destroy your property, cause problems with your neighbors and leave you with an even bigger mess then you hired them to handle. The people they sent were completely unqualified, broke my lawnmower and set a fire in my neighbors yard. SERIOUSLY?!? This is a dangerous service and you should not feel safe with the people they send.

The assembler didn't count the number of handles before he started drilling holes in the cabinet doors. Then, when he said he was done I went to check on the job and realized there were three handles (the IKEA lady had told me there were two per package, but there was only one). Then, the installer tried to dismiss it and said I didn't need handles on the other doors. Plus, upon inspection, I found that one of the handles was installed with a gap. Very sloppy work! Then, after the company charged me, and I complained and told them that I was going to file a claim for the doors if I couldn't get matching handles for all of the doors, they removed the option to rate the tasker! For reals! So, this guy did a sloppy job, tried to over charge me (he wanted to get paid for installing five handles when he only mounted three), dismissed the errors he made, and now I can't warn others about him! BS! Do not use task rabbit! Terrible!

I hired TaskRabbit to help with daughter's tv. The Tasker, Duke W, propped the tv onto an expensive mirrored tissue box, shattering the mirror and ruining the box. Instead of telling someone about breaking the box, he cleaned up the mess, collected his money and good review (before the box was noticed) and Task Rabbit has been HORRIBLE to deal with over the ordeal. They are SO unprofessional and completely unreliable. They collect and extra fee on top of the Task fee to "ensure trust" and that you are covered should anything go wrong. HA! The extra fee is just a way for them to make more money and offer NO ASSISTANCE! Find a different company to help around the house. Task Rabbit is a NIGHTMARE.

We hired them to put together an ikea dresser. I asked the guy if he ever put this dresser together before and he said yes but at the end of the day admitted he never did. They quoted 3 hrs to assemble. One hour in I noticed something didn't look right and a piece was bowed on the front because he assembled it wrong. Later when he was putting all the drawers in one was crooked and 2 other pieces were put in backward so holes showed. He tried to say that was just how it was. I told him that was unacceptable and he then took a shortcut when trying to correct the problem and ended up breaking a piece. 6 hours later we were left with a broken unfinished dresser & he had to go. He said Ikea would have to pick up the entire piece of furntiure and replace it. When we called Ikea they said I could come in and get a replacement part. I would never use them. The guy was inexperienced and careless and had the nerve to ask if I would pay for half his parking - really!?!?!
