I was quoted for a delivery task with a maximum of $50. I agreed to this price, and then I was charged $150 for reimbursements that were not agreed upon by the tasker and me. Had I known it would cost this much, I would have gone with alternative options.
I contacted TaskRabbit. They fought with me a little bit before getting to the point of offering me a reimbursement of $80, expiring on March 17th. I had budgeted and prepared for a cost of $50 so I was still unsatisfied, as I felt I had been tricked into using this service. I then had some personal matters to address, so I was unable to get back to them in time. When I reached out a second time, asking for understanding for my personal matters in the process, they simply said we cannot offer this anymore. Both conversations are attached. No resolution whatsoever.
This company claims to care about your happiness as a customer but offers no proof of genuine care through their actions. I would definitely stay away from this service. There is no accountability for the taskers, no reliability to be backed by the platform, and no flexibility or understanding from customer service.
No way to change a booking time. Hooked me up with someone who emailed back that he was not comfortable doing the work I needed done. (Breaker in a breaker box needed changing out) So why pair me with this person? Very frustrating. I suggest using Home Advisor instead. They called me right away after I visited their website. I just wanted this job to get booked so I could use my time for other things. Instead, I've wasted time dealing with them. Never again.
First time client. Will likely not use TaskRabbit again. Requested help for loading UHaul. Tasker canceled 30 minutes prior, even after I adjusted my schedule for him. Now I'm sitting high and dry with a truck on a scheduled run, my apt sceduled for pest control and walkthrough. Plus, I can't lift heaviest pieces of furniture myself. Now TaskRabbit is directing me to people who make $80+ an hour. Phooey.
Do NOT USE TASK RABBIT FOR YARD WORK. THEY EXPECT THE CUSTOMER TO GIVE THE TASKER 24 HRS NOTICE BUT THE TASKERS GIVE NOTICE DAY OF PROJECT THAT GBEY CANNOT COME.
EDGAR WAS ASSIGNED A WEEK OR TEO IN ADVANCE. LAST MINUTE ONE HOUR OR LESS BEFORE HE WAS TO SHOW UP HE CANCELLED AND JUAN AND JUSTIN. Tell them what you are doing and they back out doing landscaping or pebble walkways. Pretty unreliable!
This services is trash. Don't use it. Also, they're availability is trash. How is it that they are only in certain areas when They push the tasks to people who are willing to do work?

Not only did he not show but he didn't even let us know. So my wife and i had to do the work ourselves. This is absolutely bad service. Task Rabbit itself is a bad service because they didn't even reach out to us to apologize for the unfulfilled task. And their is no way to leave a bad review on Paul Q because he never showed up for task.
Would not recommend to anyone unless you are ok with the 50/50 chance of getting someone reliable and trustworthy.
On TWO different occasions, I booked a "I Don't Want To To Any Tasks" Rabbit - BOTH of them for absolutely NO reason canceled. And what pissed me off - they BOTH said I recommended cancellation which was an absolute LIE! AND... their rates are outrageous - the job states 1-hour minimum but they'll all text and say 2-hour minimum. One guy - who was only available after 6 pm said "After 6 pm is overtime"! Overtime? Bruh... you ain't got no union... you're a Rabbit -- Remember! You're better off going through another route as if and when task rabbit was reputable - those days are OVER... Oh, did I mention the 30 bucks/hour the company tacks on? I'm not sure for what... websites are FREE these days on Wix! The "I don't do tasks" Rabbit use they own phone - nobody ever answers the phone at the compnay sooooooooooo what is the extra 30 bucks for!
ABOUT ME - I'm a doctor; own a solo virtual practice - the freaking celing fan won't turn off in the room I talk to patients - it's cold - sounds like a helicopter above. This is disruptive and I can't move my office. The "I don't want to work" Rabbit KNEW this and still cancelled! Yes I changed the battery... lol. I simply asked the alleged ELECTRICIAN to install another way to turn the fan on and off. The fan is blowing so hard it drys out my contacts! Back to the drawing board.
I had to leave this review because not only did BOTH these losers inconvenience me, they disrupted patiented care and people are truly sick these days!
QUESTION - Is a ZERO star option available? If so, I'd like to change my score to ZERO stars with a negative sign BEFORE THE ZERO!
Requested deadbolt replacement at entryway for next day installation. Tasker charged 80+$. Then kept texting asking what tools they needed and to send pictures. Sent him a picture of existing lock. He ignored and sent a message saying he could not do the job. MY credit card was charged anyway.
DO NOT USE TASKRABBIT.
Hired a cleaner for a small 1 bedroom place that is in good nick as it's cleaned thoroughly regularly.
1) Task Rabbit doesn't show you their fees next to the taskers costs, they bury it deep in fine print. Expect to pay ridiculously high fees (more than 30%). You also only get to see the total amount you're going to pay after completion, and they even make this amount hard to find or dispute. You're at the mercy of the taskers lies (they can say they worked for 3 hours when they worked for 1, then good luck trying to get your money back).
2) More deception from Task Rabbit - they hide bad reviews on their website (you can only find these on the app, and they make it very hard to navigate). I also question the legitimacy of their reviews.
3) The person who came to do the cleaning deliberately took a long time to rack up their fees. In two hours they half cleaned 1 bathroom, which needed only a light clean, and nothing else. No vacuuming, dusting, mopping nothing. The bathroom was poorly cleaned, and we had to clean everything again. The tasker even said that the apartment was clean before they started cleaning so what were they doing in the bathroom for 2 hours? I asked them to leave after two hours and it was obvious I was being swindled.
Save yourself from wasting money and being swindled…don't use Task Rabbit!
I completed a cleaning task that was 3hrs long. The client was great, and tipped me as well as left a review. However, the platform is TRASH in terms of payout. Several days after submitting my invoice, I reached out and was told there was a issue on the client's end. I reached out to the client and although they were sure there was no issue with their card, they changed it on the app as they suggested. The client then reached out to task rabbit directly, but there is no way to email back although that is how they reached out to her. Over a week later, they finally put my payment through manually. It has been another two weeks and I've yet to be paid by Task Rabbit. I've worked with the same client twice since then and was paid outside the app almost immediately. I do not plan on using this platform going forward.
I don't think I will ever book anyone from task rabbit again as the experience was not very pleasant. The person who came was not only late but obnoxious, angry and difficult to deal with.
I paid 250.00 to have my shower valve installed. They installed the valve 2 inches off and the valve sticks out and looks terrible. Taskrabbit did not assist in fixing the horrible install. Once they have your money you are done!

The telephone number they provide never answer and the website is good only to make the bookings and nothing else. For a week I have been trying to contact them, without any luck.
They are charging me a cancelation fee for $37, eventhough, they are the one who made a mistake. They assigned me two taskers for the same job. One in the morning and the other in the afternoon. So, I had to cancel one of them (the afternoon one) trough their website.
They received the email and confirmed the cancelation. Two days later they sent me the invoice of the cancelation for $37.
Do I have to pay for their mistake?
Non refundable when you sign up and after you sign up the app is tough to navigate. They don't make money on there business they make money on the fee you pay when you sign up
Most workers are unskilled. Hire taskers if you enjoy a gamble. Most will milk the clock to make more money. It's a hidden scam.
Hired a tasker for $35 an hour for 2 hours. Instead of getting a $70 bill I got a $120 bill. $49 in fees that was not expected. Cannot afford to tip my Tasker. Talk about a rip off!
I worked for TaskRabbit for about 2 months. They did not pay me a dime of the hundreds of dollars they owed me. It was a simple issue that needed to be resolved with payment, but customer service is almost non-existent and dragged on the process until the amount owed was substantial. This is a SanFrancisco tech giant who does not give a rat's $#*! about anyone who is actually out doing the work. Stay away from this company at all costs. I'm owed hundreds, and at this point I am considering legal options.
Awful awful awful experience
Awful awful awful experience! Tried 3 times to get an IKEA wardrobe built after purchase, IKEA not clear this job was given to a 3rd party, the first Tasker from them declined the job as he would not work with anyone else as he said their standards we're no good enough, then the job was allocated as it needed two people and the night before one of the Taskers pulled out as he had a better job, the 2nd tasker due to work with him then charged me a late cancellation fee as was his right! The job was then reallocated and no one wanted to do it! Then they couldn't find 2 people to coordinate together for a 4 hour slot! The live chat was no help, very apologetic but all they could do was keep relisting it, we are talking Central Southampton and they were not able to get it allocated! The responsibility is with who ever asks for the job to be done (customers) to chase and resolve all the time, never ever will I consider using this service again they are a nightmare, so poorly organised and just don't care if you have a problem, basically if you don't like it go elsewhere! So I have.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I hired a cleaner, Azia B., from Task Rabbit, with 1 week notice for the cleaning job. She asked for photos of the place (which I provided), and asked me to answer a long list of questions about the cleanliness of the place. She then changed the time that she was coming from 10 a.m. Sunday, to 9:30 a.m. Sunday, to 9 a.m. Sunday, to 8:30 a.m. Sunday. There was so much back-and-forth that it never occurred to me that she simply wouldn't show up, but that's exactly what happened. At that point, it was too late for me to get anyone else, so I had to do the job myself. Do not use this service!
Answer: Mine responded and loved to chat. At the end, he cancelled the appointment. What a waste of time. Very disappointing.
