Task Rabbit is basically a thief. I've never been unhappy with the work. My most recent task receipt had a $110 trust and support fee for a $250 task. Their "trust" fee is somewhere around 7-15%, but I was charged over 30%.
No response to multiple requests for assistance. No arguing the fee, tacked on at the end. Scary, not a place I want to visit again.
Used taskrabbit to hire an electrician to install lights at existing electrical points (switching what was there); the guy who showed up hung around for nearly 8 hours (across two days- he insisted we needed a follow up for him to get the work done), but could not understand how to even do the basic lighting install. He even made us pay for additional purchases he claimed were needed but never used. He finally left without doing the work after the 5 hours of nothing on day 2, tried to convince us he needed to come back a third time, and he and taskrabbit charged us almost 700$ to be left with holes in our ceiling with wires poking out. He also messed up the wiring of existing switches unconnected to the task requested. When I report all this to taskrabbit, after much back and forth and providing photos and estimates from new companies on short notice, they said: 1) They do not check if people are licensed to do what they say they do on the platform, so taskers can pretend to be trained/licensed and scam users, 2) the company has no responsibility if their tasker does not do the work- no refunds despite evidence of work not done, even after providing the quote taskrabbit requested from a third party company to attest to the electrical issues. They will only cover "damages", but are very happy to charge you hundreds of dollars for work that was never done in the first place. By the way, taskrabbit charged nearly 200$ as fees that were to include verification and checks, even though they don't check licenses and allow misrepresentation on their platform, helping perpetrate scams on their users but take zero responsibility. They trot out the "independent contractor" bit, so imagine if you were using a rideshare service like Uber/Lyft etc, but the ride share company happily puts "drivers" on there without checking if have a license to actually drive, and if you end up in a crash tell you that's not their problem. Do yourself a favor- delete the app and call a licensed company!

Requested a booking for 10am on a bank holiday and was given a time of 7:30 which I agreed. Had a message saying 10 minutes away then next thing I know, job cancelled as no one answered the door. A photo was attached of a house that wasn't mine! Received a bill for cancellation. REALLY! Tried to call the number provided that just keeps telling me to try later a no one is available and my card will be charged in 24 hours. Absolute joke and will not be using in the future.
I'd give ZERO stars if I could. I hired Scott S to assemble patio furniture. He cancelled 30 min AFTER he was due to be here. Ge has a "regular job" and forgot he had to work today. I have a party this evening, and no furniture to sit on. AVOID TASK RABBIT. I've been on hold on the phone with them to file a complaint on Scott S.,, for over 40 minutes.
Worse app ever. I just hired a lawn mower through the app. For 3 hours cutting grass only job I've paid $256. Insane! This job was worth of $120 maybe a little more. They're charging you extra $100 as support or whatever nonsense charge. I am talking to a customer support and chat has been on their end whit no resolution or any explanation! I'm not picking up the money from the street. I'm requesting my money back!
I paid 25,. 00 to register at task Rabbit they have the worse costumer service via phone,! Supervisor is never free to talk too! I email CEO AT tweeter she never care about my problem! 1 I sued this company for taking my 25,00 and never activated my account! Don;'t sing with them please plus when you call is 3 hours or more waiting for them to come on phone! Scammmmmmmmmmmmmm

The tasker totally covered up the heating vent in my bedroom with the hardwood floors I paid him to install. This company has a " customer Happiness" policy. But, if you read the fine print they are basically making you responsible for any negligence of their Tasker's. It goes a little something like this. First, you will need to report any problem or negligence by the Tasker, if you can get in touch with someone. I was on hold for 30 long minutes before someone finally answered the phone. Second, you will need to find 3 companies to give you quotes for the damages. Third, you are to file an insurance claim with your homeowners insurance. Last, you are to pay for the work and they will reimburse you a percentage. No customer can ever be happy with such a policy. By the time you realize this ridiculous policy is in play, they've already been paid and so has the Tasker. That, ladies and gentlemen is what you call a scam
Hired someone for moving our stuffs in Ann Arbor area and he took 4 hours to complete a 2 hours job. He was super slow and didn't have any idea about what he was doing. It's extra cost and frustration for us.
First of all, you cannot review unless the service was completed. I could never get anyone to show up for a scheduled talk. I went through 2 no shows before I gave up. Just save yourself the headache and do not choose taskrabiit!
Kaye was supposed to build my furniture. He asked me to pay 10.00 for his GAS! On top of the regular charges. I found this to be ridiculous and insanely unprofessional. Being I needed to have it done, I agreed anyways. 1 hr before he was supposed to arrive he claimed he was sick from days prior, and won't be able to make it. He claimed he tried to call me, no call was made. I checked with my phone company to be sure. I would NEVER recommend this service to anyone.

Whatever quote they charge you initially when you sign up is not enough. They will charge way more when they finish. Wont respond to email and now on hold for 30 min on the phone and no one has answered yet. Calling my credit card company
I used it twice, each time the task was doing a couple merch pickups for me and delivering them to my house. Very basic stuff, obviously. Both taskers were timely, professional and everything was delivered as expected. I knocked one star off because one tasker was, I assume, filling out a couple other tasks because what should have been a 30-45 minute task turned into 80 minutes. I didn't get charged for 80 minutes, btw. I got charged for 30. I knocked a star off because of the excessive time on that particular task.
I couldn't imagine using this service for something like drywall work, electric work etc. I would suggest something like thumbtack for those types of needs.

Site must be cursed with all the "family emergencies." They don't hold anybody accountable for anything! Their employees have 5 star profiles, and won't think ANYTHING of just totally BLOWING OFF your job. And then you can't rate and review them unless you contact the company directly, which is nearly impossible. This happened to me TWICE in one weekend. And get this, the second guy had learned to game the system, he literally sent me a text, "Thanks for hiring me," but I guess he'd never officially schuduled the job on his end, so I couldn't leave a negative review. If he's a five star employee I'm the Queen of England. No thanks.
So I hired Nigel to mount my TV and he hid this big hole that no one saw until it was time to take the TV down. I wish I can give zero stars!
I scheduled James to help me move, I already accommodated to his schedule, I changed it to 11 instead of 9. This guy I shall say, instead of cussing, canceled on me an hour before. If you are in the Georgia area DO NOT ask James to help you do anything. Should have known better. Still has not refunded my money, or really seemed to care. It's crazy how companies work today. No respect for THEIR customers.
I hired a Tasker to pick up an item for me and ship it. The Tasker picked up the item but never shipped it. Basically they stold the item. Task Rabbit would do nothing to help me. Do not trust this company. They are horrible when it comes to customer service.
I have used this app a few times to hire taskers. In all cases they did great job. My only complaint is how terrible the app is. It's difficult to navigate.
Answer: Mine responded and loved to chat. At the end, he cancelled the appointment. What a waste of time. Very disappointing.
