Never Again!

My tasker had no clue what he was doing. He damaged my wall and left without completing the job despite being here for hours. He said he would return to fix the mess he made but didn't return. Task Rabbit charged me anyway plus an extra $90 "trust and support" fee! I had to pay almost $1,000 to repair the damage he did and have the project completed. Not happy. One star is too much!

As a tasker you get hired and agree do jobs with out even seeing the work first. How many people providing any service schedule and agree to do work with not even a picture? That is a lot of the trouble. Taskers can not cancel often if they want jobs, they won't show up if they cancel. Since I can't cancel i have to keep my rates for the 11 different things I do similar. Just moving is 3 different task classes. Really if clients want taskers to help them move completely they need to hire taskers in all 3 task classes that involve moving. Plus what else do you need when move? Minor repairs, furniture assembly, tv/blinds mounted. Lots of people are moving where I live and they hire me for what ever task class seems cheapest according to task rabbits algorithmic pricing model. So I charge essentially the same rate for everything and just do what people ask. I'm only showing up ready to do anything because of experience. Clients nor taskers realize they are mismatched. Taskers need money and they get hired for the wrong task, so they try anyway, often with bad results. Clients want some one on the problem disrupting their life, taskrabbit has not made it clear that not every tasker does everything. If I wanted to I could cancel people who book me in the wrong class but doing that costs me too much work. Taskrabbit can work but it's up to the client and the tasker. The client and the tasker have got have a "meeting of minds" and the app does not do that automatically. Communication through the task rabbit app can function as contract task rabbit support will enforce but task rabbit does not tell people that it's best create a contract in chat. If there is no evidence in the app task rabbit does nothing for clients/taskers. I tell clients about the extra fees because they don't know and may give me a bad review. I give away my time if can't do a task, but get this it is a violation for a tasker to do that! So say I try for 2 hours and just can't do something, the rules say I have charge the client any way! So people who complain about being charged even though the work is unfinished? Yeah that's because they are following task rabbits rules. I was hired by a former tasker who used taskrabbit to get leads to get started but left the app long ago. Every good customer I have had on taskrabbit wants to cut taskrabbit out. That's why taskrabbit has high fees. Skilled, hard workers and great customers only need to meet once on the app. I set my rate and schedule which is great. People can hire me quick. The app makes sure I get paid. I am glad it exists. Task Rabbit does not magically avoid the pitfalls of running a business or hiring a contractor. It lets people rapidly schedule contactors on their smartphone. Task Rabbit can work Don't trust the app, use the app to find people you trust, after investigating for yourself!

Azer K knew ahead of time on this task. However, very last second after preparing everything on this day for the tasks he claims he NEEDS to reschedule it or else he'll cancel. Not everyone has the luxury to spend time so loosely. Azer K is just overall very unprofessional and entitled.

I needed someone to move small furniture (several chairs). Task rabbit kept matching me with workers who did not have a van or truck, although I told them the job would require a van or truck. They also took my debit card information and wouldn't let me cancel the job. TaskRabbit grabs onto your credit/debit card and makes it hard to cancel. It's a confusing site and process. I was able to find a friend with a truck to do the job the same day. It may be better to rent a small U-Haul van or truck and give some homeless guys a chance to earn a few bucks.

I booked a handyman from TaskRabbit yesterday. The handyman did a great job. However he did not complete the work and could not attach a bookcase properly because a screw was missing. He told me to get the missing screw, tell him through the chat when I have it and he would come back to finish the job free of charge (it takes 2 minutes to finish it). In the meantime, I gave the handyman 5 stars review, a 10% tip and I allowed him to charge 1h45min although he worked 1h31min. It is important for him to come back to put that screw as the bookcase is in my 5 year old's bedroom and needs to be properly secure or it may tip over and cause serious injuries. I got the missing screw but the chat with the handyman has been deactivated by TaskRabbit. I called Customer Service who said the chat can't be re-activated (so basically they refuse to allow me to communicate with the handyman who did the job) and told me to book another appointment (at £40/h)... I am speechless... Seriously? Is it TaskRabbit's work ethics? The handyman did not finish the job, he admitted it himself, he offered to come back to finish the job as he knows it is just a 2 minute job. On top of that, I gave him 5 stars review, a 10% tip and I allowed him to charge an extra 14 minutes, yet TaskRabbit are trying to milk me and they don't care about the safety of my 5 year old child? The cabinet is not secure properly, the job is not complete. How low can one get? For what? A few quids? This is the most disgraceful handyman company ever, and I've dealt with bad ones in my life...

Do not let your tasker leave before the task is finished because you will get billed regardless of the result. The skill level of taskers varies on the platform and there are some really unprofessional taskers that could make the situation worse than before. Customer service is unhelpful and will terminate the chat while you type your response, which is a very unethical practice.

Consumer beware! This site mentions great service but allows the people performing tasks to either cancel with no notice or reschedule your job based upon when they want. It also doesn't allow you as a consumer to review if the job wasn't completed, likely artificially inflating reviews. Definitely bottom of the barrel handymen, from my experience. I was literally rescheduled 6 times in one week and billed for 3.5 hours extra on a job that wasn't finished. When I reached out to customer service they mentioned a refund and when I mentioned a review and was typing it out, they ended the chat. Worst experience across the board. I do not ever want to use this site again.

TASKRABBIT STINKS!

I stopped using them a long time ago. I had an issue with a few unreliable taskers, but I kept using the service and didn't choose those taskers anymore. The last straw was when I hired a tasker to mow my lawn. The landscaping company I was using unexpectedly went out of business and I needed my lawn mowed that week until I found a permanent replacement. The tasker they sent massacred my lawn (cut uneven, missed some spots, no edging, etc.) and blew/ spewed the clippings and TRASH everywhere, even on to my neighbor's lawn. I submitted a complaint and Taskrabbit didn't even allow me to post a review with photos of what the tasker did, they also charged additional fees. I was charged a total of $189, for less than 1.5hrs of work. So I had to dispute the charge with my bank. I was charged $189 for this horrible lawn job, when it typically costs $50 weekly for my size lawn. I will never use Taskrabbit again! Taskrabbit fees is another issue, please notice how they charge an ADDITIONAL $7-$15 PER HOUR for their "Trust & Safety Fee" which is unconscionable. None of this money goes to the tasker. Taskrabbit is worst than Uber when it comes to fees and they're not even doing any of the work! They claim this is a necessary fee they charge to do background checks on their tasker. Lies! It's $20/mo for unlimited searches on Intelius. If you have an Intelius account (like them) you can run a check on anyone, all you need is their name & date of birth. Lucky for me, there have been many apps created since this incident that provide a much better service than Taskrabbit. I also place ads on Craigslist and do my own background checks on Intelius, com. I've found better more reliable workers on Craigslist alone, it's been much less expensive. I pay $25-$30 CA$H per hour for labor and the worker gets the entire amount without paying a percentage to these scammy apps.

Their happiness pledge is a joke -- like Public Enemy calling 911. I hired a tasker to help me clean and I warned him a piece was fragile and to treat it with care. Of course, he smashed it to pieces and didn't tell me. He left before I could inspect his work and I found it hours later. It was an item of moderate value that was discontinued and irreplaceable.

I filled out the taskrabbit claim form via typepad and heard nothing back. I contacted them again and they said they had no record of my claim. I filled it all out again via zendesk. And again, heard nothing back until they said they were closing my claim! They have a pledge all right, but it doesn't include happiness. Just a pledge to ignore you. AND THE WORST thing is, I had to pay $21 extra for their Trust Fee to get nada compensation.

Registered with Task Rabbit in May 2022. Paid my $25. Gave consent for background check, did one and one interview with the Coach; scheduled my availability every day and nothing.
So, I enquired what was going on and no one responded. Decided to check the reviews and after reading the reviews I don't think I want to be a Tasker any more. Such reviews like "Clients are free to add extra tasks on the day and make extra demands not agreed upon, if you (as a tasker) decline, you are subject to negative reviews even though the client breached the agreement with no penalties to the clients by Task-rabbit spoils this for me. So I will put my account on pause for now until I delete it.

I have used task rabbit 3 times now - two for carpentry and one for electric work. All three takers were prompt, professional and very skilled. Prices were very reasonable as compared to other quotes that I received for the work. I will continue to use them as it's always something that needs fixed!

I went online to use task service for a cleaning lady booked my time reserved my time confirmed my time for her to message me asking me if she could come to clean my house at night time when I had it scheduled and confirmed for the morning I did not respond to her because I could not login to task rabbit I had major technical difficulties and she didn't even show up or communicate with me no one from task services at all horrible horrible horrible do not use this service you will be greatly disappointed now I have nobody to clean my house at all and I have a party to throw and I'm juggling everything all on my own as a single mother I could've used to help a lot if I knew this service was going to disappoint me so badly I would've never hired I would've never did it I'm warning other customers out there please do not use the service you will be greatly disappointed it's horrible it's not even worth a one rated star I just had to put one reading just because I wanted to write my review. The person I chose on task rabbit her name was Deborah she's African-American if you come across her do not choose her she will disappoint you she should not even be working she should be fired she will never come to my home and I will never use the site or any other their services ever horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible trust me don't do it!

I decided to give TaskRabbit a chance despite having a reliable repair person - this was a big mistake! I needed to have two televisions mounted in my home. One of the televisions was set to be installed in my living room, while the other was going to be installed in my bedroom. The Tasker arrived about 30 minutes late (no big deal), completed mounting both televisions within 40 minutes and was extremely friendly. As soon as he left, I left a positive review based off his professionalism and how good the televisions looked mounted. I decided to adjust my television in my bedroom, and when I did so I was mortified. Behind my television, I noticed 4 holes, several scratches and 2 nails stuck inside of my wall. I was mortified. I quickly realized that if there is damage on my bedroom wall, there is surely damage on my living room wall. To my lack of surprise there was a hole staring back at me on my living room wall behind the television. Why did the Tasker not make me aware of this? He caused the damage and sneakily left as if he had done nothing wrong.

I immediately contacted my Tasker and notified him of the damage he left, and it displayed that he had read my message, but refused to respond. This was odd, as he was quickly responding when he was on his way to damage my walls – I mean mount the televisions. I then contacted TaskRabbit's customer service, they were initially helpful and said they would follow-up so that I could file a claim. Some time went by, and I did not see any follow-up, so I decided to reach out to them. That is when a whirlwind of disappointment ensued. They claimed that I was sent an email to follow up on my damages, but I didn't receive anything. I even spent time digging through my email and spam folder to make sure I did not miss it. Because, if I did and completely missed it, I had no problem taking full responsibility.
When I notified them of this, they dismissively notified me that because I did not respond in time, they could do nothing for me and offered me a $55 credit to use towards their service. I immediately sent a screenshot showing my search results within my email and made them aware that I no longer trusted using their company and just needed my walls fixed.

In all, I advise everyone to avoid this company. In the end, I ended up being the one left with several damages. The company and Tasker were left unscathed, while the consumer that used their hard-earned money on their service was left burned. I will not stop letting people know what I encountered, until I feel that I have been rightly treated for this. I am even considering involving a lawyer, as I truly have been wronged on so many levels. Accidents happen, but for this much damage to take place - a credit to reuse a service that caused a significant amount of harm, instead of trying to resolve the issue is a total slap in the face. TaskRabbit I am completely disgusted and disappointed.

TOTALLY UNRELIABLE

Took a day off work for month long prescheduled visit. Total no show and all customer service was able to say was that I wouldn't be charged a fee. I WOULDNT BE CHARGED A FEE? ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Piece of crap website. No accountability for their unvetted "handymen". Pthetic.

I asked for help in getting Wayfair upholstered furniture assembled. John H had years of experience assembling Ikea products, so he was quick to understand how to do the job. He arrived early and was very professional and fast, handling the furniture with care. The two furniture items had many pieces, and I would have found the job very difficult on my own. He cleaned up after the task and moved the pieces to their final location. I will definitely recommend John H to others and ask for his help in the future.
