Memorable nightmare experience with the Tasker Ahmad. Yesterday postponed for 2 consecutive day, I cancelled. No professionalism at all!
I would give Task Rabbit a 5 star but gave them 1 star because there customer service is a joke. You can't talk to a person and no one ever answers my emails. I've done the live chat and been disconnected on their end. My issue still has not been resolved although Task Rabbit assured me they would take care of it. It's been two months. I have all 5 star reviews and received a 2 star from a client that was not prepared for his task. The client wasn't in property and sent me on a wild goose chase to do his laundry in addition to cleaning his apartment. The laundry was not on site and the client's directions made no sense. The laundry facility was unmarked and did not take quarters, even though the client had me stop at the bank to get quarters. The laundry needed a special card that the client did not have. Because doing his laundry would take more time, the client told me to put soiled sheets back on his bed for his air b&b. Long story short, the laundry couldn't be done and had taken almost an hour of my time. We communicated through the app the entire time. After the job was done, pictures sent and client happy with the task, We discussed the invoice and the client did not want to pay for the time lost on laundry due to his error. I called Task Rabbit and I was told to turn in my invoice. The representative told me that the client was in violation of their policies and if he left a bad review it would be taken down since the entire conversation is there for them to read as proof. The client wrote a review of lies and to date, it's still there. There is no one I can talk to about this which is ridiculous. Where is the support? I'm making Task Rabbit look good with how hard I work but they can't support me when the proof is staring them in the face. I can't stand companies that choose not use human interaction. This should NOT be taking months to resolve.TR doesn't care about you.
First off, the taskers are way too expensive. Second, good luck trying to 'cancel a task'. Taskrabbit keep fighting my refund request even though the tasker was not hired and i cancel the task. Sent my case to the AG of California and recommend you all do that too.
I set for a mover. After the pricing and unexplained fees were set up, an hour later I was told that the mover would not be able to perform the job. No other reason or excuse was given. Instead of this company holding the next available mover with the same pricing, this employer charges more money and a higher tax. No apologies was given nor were there any accommodations. This is not good business etiquette and this company should not have to be made known in order to accommodate their client/potential clientele.
Taskers have no liability to show up at all. Furthermore, if the tasker claims it's you who needed to cancel, you'll be charged an hour of your tasker's regardless of whether or not you actually canceled. Customer service is trash, and they will not give you your money back. A cherry on top is their service charge - 40%?! Absolutely not worth it. Do yourself a favor and hire a professional who will actually be responsible for the work they do.
Definitely NOT recommended. Paid for someone to destroy our home, the guy came over, said he could do the job and f***en destroyed our baseboards and paint all over our floors/windows/baseboards. I have the pictures, for safety reasons, I won't be mentioning his name. But, ppl, do your background checks on some of these workers. Thought it was a great site- bad experience!
Avoid San Antonio tasker Alvaro N. He did not show for job, or respond to my attempts to contact him. In fact avoid taskrabbit... no good if no show!
Task Rabbit is an incompetent company. The first Tasker they assigned to build a daybed with a trundle was someone who had experience as a car washer and had only assembled three racks. They then arranged for someone with experience to come three days later but something went wrong with their app which canceled the tasker! Supervisor not available and still waiting to hear back... Hahahaha!
Charging a 40% fee per hour on top of the tasker's rate is insanely expensive. Over a certain dollar value it should be flat fee or a much lower flat rate. I hired a painter at $50/hr and then had to pay andother $20 an hour in fees. If I weren't disabled and unable to find anyone else I would never in a million years pay $70 an hour for a painter.
Task Rabbit should let you know how long your tasker has been doing this job. I would want someone with more knowledge and better time management of putting IKEA items together. I will never use this service again, the workers are inexperienced in putting the IKEA items together. If I wanted my purchase to look like I have had it for years I would have put it together myself.
The tasker caused a liability of $3,200 and Insurance paid $1,700. I had to pay the remaining $1,500 from my pocket.
They closed the ticket without paying attention to my claim and say that I never gave them the entire information of the claim. The customer service doesn't try to listen to the liability caused and go on and on about their deadlines and policies.
This thing is just a rip off and I don't recommend this to anyone. The tasker may be fine but the customer service is just pathetic (pause a read it again). Rating of 1 is way more than they deserve. The rating is surely a negative for me.
The manager of the customer service is just so rude and does not listen to you at all. He just goes on and on about how I did not send them the correct information and its my fault.
I dont understand the concept of deadline, when you have caused a liability. A good way not to pay for the loss. I urge the authorities to stop this scam.
I booked a tasker in the morning to move one piece of furniture. By 1 pm the tasker pulled out. I only noticed the notification by 2 pm. The alternative tasker offered was not available any more by that time nor was anybody else.
In short: Not reliable for quick jobs.
This was a time sensitive job (estate sale)
After years of debating, I finally decided to try task rabbit. We moved into a new house. The old owners left furniture but we wanted to swap the upstairs and downstairs couch sets. I wanted it done before our stuff arrived so I hired 2 taskers for the job. It went terribly, as you can see from a few of the photos, they tore our walls and stairs up, and actually didn't even complete the job. They spent over 3 hours which ended up costing me almost $400… not including the $1000 it cost me to bring in a contractor to repair and repaint everything.
They could have just said no, but they claimed they could do it- (btw when the professional movers came the next day it took them 15 minutes to do it with no damage at all). I was sick over what they had done to our new home.
So I filed a claim with task rabbit- Their "happiness pledge" is a joke. I spent over 3 weeks going back and forth jumping through hoops (I. E. your contractor needs to provide their assessment on professional letterhead with phone, now it needs to have their email, now it also needs their address, logo, etc- how many local contractors do you know that even have professional letter head? Most just write up an invoice, luckily mine was nice enough and felt so bad for how damaged my walls were she took the time to do it)
Once they were finally satisfied with the info I provided they offered me $200 back on the job and a $150 credit that I will NEVER use.
I wasn't asking for an insane amount of money back, I didn't even ask for the $1000 it cost for all the repairs (it was on me to fix it, using task rabbit was my mistake!) but I asked for the $400 back that I paid them for the work… they refused.
Don't use task rabbit! I warn you now, spend the extra money to hire a professional… or go with another task site that isn't so corporate they refuse to consider the actual people they are servicing.
I am really so disappointed, I wanted it to work, with a new house we have so many little things that need to be done, furniture to be built, etc. They had an opportunity to build a strong client and instead decided that $200 in a settlement wasn't worth it.
We hired a Task Rabbit electrician at 63$ an hour for 3.5 hours and expected to pay 220.50$. However at the time of billing Task Rabbit charged nearly 40% fees over an above directly to the credit card without our knowledge. These fees were not disclosed upfront and were sneaked in. This is clear bait and switch and misuse of credit card without our permission.
I sincerely request that our nearly 80$ in extra fees be refunded and also that going forward Task Rabbit clearly inform all consumers about any fees that will charge so that the buyer is made aware. This will give buyers confidence to work with Task Rabbit again. We have immediately started alerting our friends about this practice so they are not duped by such hidden fees and charges to their credit cards.
We have reached out to BBB to help resolve this and issue the refund of the $83.5 fee that was wrongly charged. These bad customer experiences keep companies from becoming great like Amazon.
I will never recommend Task Rabbit employee, I was referred by Ikea to install closets and the person couldn't finish the job, I paid through TR but they promised to come back but skipping every day and left the job in the middle, I shouldn't trust their word. Stay away from Task Rabbit people
First time ever using their service and the Tasker damaged a brand new out of the box dresser. I sent a message to the Tasker named Michael K., and he ignored me. I sent over 20 emails to the company with pictures of the damage. They never replied back. I will never use their services again. Another scam managed company. Terrible disappointment. I was so excited about this dresser. And this Tasker and company couldn't care less.
I needed a maid for three or four hours. I picked one off TaskRabbit that was $30 an hour. I get a notice that she is not available but one is available for $45 an hour. I needed it bad so I thought OK. When I checked out at 4.5 hours my bill with a 10% tip was $407. TaskRabbit charges a big $#*! fee per hour for every hour the person is there. I will not be using them again. I can't afford to pay a housekeeper $100 an hour
I am wondering... is it the location? I live in North Suburb of Chicago, Il. I never hear of Taskrabbit complaints. I do understand that when you have a bad experience you should inform other. Reviews are important! Honest workers will give you a business card and share personal information ex: where they live, kids, how they want you to be happy with their service. Taskrabbit should not charge if task is not completed/if you are not satisfied. Sometimes it's great to google the person who you hired, they will appear on social media somewhere. Honest and trustworthy people are who you want in your home and working on projects.
This company cancelled my account without notice and kept my $25 background search fee. They were unapologetic and gave no hits with an s. Stay away from this scam company!
I just paid TaskRabbit $105 per hour for their inept (but 4.9 star rated tasker) to drill incorrect holes on my bathroom cabinet drawers. He then tried to cover this up by smearing gray paint over the holes. This was $75/hr plus the TaskRabbit current Trust Fee of 35% on top of that.
They would not refund any of my money. Only offered a $75 credit toward future work but I certainly will not ever use them again. I could not find anyone to come do this repair before their time deadline and they would not extend their deadline or refund any money I paid. So according to them, I have no proof of my loss. They acknowledged by photos but had no comment and just insisted on me proving monetary loss. They do not care about you at all. I am not sure what they use the "Trust Fee" money for but it certainly does not go toward creating customer goodwill or truly compensating you for work gone bad.
Do not ever use TaskRabbit. Almost anyone else out there has to be better.
Answer: Mine responded and loved to chat. At the end, he cancelled the appointment. What a waste of time. Very disappointing.
