I've only used Swappa this one time so far, but the seller was awesome and I got exactly what I was looking for. He answered all of my questions about the phone and also included a free USB-C cable even though he didn't initially have it included in the listing. Swappa (along with the Seller's responses) helped me feel very confident in my purchase, and it's definitely a website that I recommend if you're looking to get a great deal on a used phone. I'll most likely be using it again in the future!
P.S. I see a some reviews here saying they had bad experiences, and that is bound to happen at times with all websites; if you do decide to use Swappa, I'd recommend looking for a seller that has good reviews, just like you would on any other website (the seller I went with had three reviews, all good, and it worked out great for me). Just be careful, and use Swappa as a tool to help you cut out some of the bad listings that you might see on other websites. :)
I can't blame the marketplace for that. I appreciate Swappa's existence and like that there's some quality control and arbitration of disputes. I think they could do more to verify the phone details, such as in my case where I was sent a Verizon phone with permanently locked bootloader despite the vendor having stated it was a Tmobile phone. Overall I recommend Swappa for finding a good deal on a used phone.
I have used Swappa in the past, and the sellers on this site are prompt, and the products arrive as advertised. I will continue to use this site as long as I continue to find good, quality products at reasonable prices and by reliable sellers.
Awesome experience as usual I've purchased so many products in the past year and none have disappointed me. The descriptions are very accurate and they hold their sellers to a strict level of service and quality.
Swappa was super easy to deal with; Seller who was also excellent was thoroughly vetted by Swappa. Would not hesitate again to buy another phone. Great pricing. Plenty of photos to mae buying decision. All around 100% A Plus.
I put my IPhone 7 up for sale at swappa. This is the first time I have done anything like this They walked me thru the process to ensure my phone would sell. My phone sold within 3 days and at the price i asked for. Thanks swappa!
I have never been an early adopter, if you dont mind used tech go here first. I've purchased smart phones & watches from Swappa. I have never been disappointed in my purchases. Never received a piece of junk or had to deal with shady characters. When I'm ready to upgrade, Swappa is my first stop.
I had a great experience as a first-time Swappa user. I appreciated the easy yet through buying process and found the FAQ section to be quite useful. The way the site operated gave me a sense of confidence in the process. My seller was a bit slow posting the shipping and tracking info, but I was able to obtain that info quickly through the Swappa interface by chatting directly with the buyer. I'll be back here again the next time I need something for sure!
Looking for a new phone, specially the OnePlus 8 Pro in green was simple. Searching and listings are straight forward and easy to navigate. The purchase was a matter of seconds, the community is helpful making my choice confident and comforting. The items were shipped promptly and safely arrived in great condition.
If you are the type of person who doesn't feel the need to buy the latest and greatest device, swappa is the place to go. They do a really good job vetting both their sellers and their merchandise, and you can buy with confidence. When something goes wrong with a sale, the swappa staff is there for you and are very responsive. Much better than dealing with the wild west that is ebay :) And their prices are often better than what I find on other sites.
I had a minor issue with the seller and swappa was quick to respond. At the end I must say I was happy with my purchase. Totally recommend it!
Easy to use and list items. Just post a couple of pictures and within a few days get results. My go to site for future sales/purchases.
Listed two different Samsung cell phones for sale and both sold within 2 days. I believe it was due to the listing/photo requirements of Swappa, which reassures the consumer that they are buying a product exactly as it is stated. The only thing that was not clear was how to best communicate with the buyer during or after the item sold/was received. While I did reach out through the site, there was no feedback so I assumed all was good.
Took a few pictures and entered the requested information to sell an item and sold both my phones in less than a week. Excellent experience.
My purchase was smooth and everything was as said. I would use Swappa again in the future next time I'm in the market for a gently used phone.
I have bought a Macbook Pro a year ago through Swappa and it's still going strong today. I recently bought an apple watch through the site and received the "mint" device two days later. Swappa has amazing deals if you are in the market to upgrade your electronics.
I was sceptical at first but I was able to return a product that had damage and order a replacement.
My order was cancelled and I did not receive my refund for almost a month, no one from swappa cared or helped me
I have sold around 50 phones on swappa, the staff communicates very well for each listing. What I don't like is individual photo / imei verification on each listing I create, this is not a good use of my time and does not attract me to stay on the website. When amazon and eBay do not require any verification. Swappa boasts there are no seller fees however I have found in many instances when selling on eBay that I will sell items with fees but will be able to sell for a higher price. Sometimes swappa is more profitable, sometimes they are not.
Swappa has Not been as competitive as I'd like, they do not offer bank payments Like amazon (I must pay fees on PayPal). They have no FBA system. No crypto purchase option. They removed their broken phone category on swappa years ago, this category drew many to the website and they Claimed there was too much fraud for them to keep it running, they outright shut it down without offering to keep it running in a safe manner with more scrutiny on buyers and sellers.
Swappa is famous for their imei check tool, as a bulk reseller I can tell you their checker is often wrong, when the mods verify your imei when you post a listing I don't believe they even use swappa to verify imeis, they use the main carrier websites (but don't tell you that).
Swappa lures in a lot of sellers who have been banned from eBay or do not like eBay. I believe they have no seller limits
Last year I had a problem with an angry buyer leaving me false feedback, swappa wrote on their terms And condition they do not allow for "False summary of sale" feedback, upon contacting them they did not remove the feedback which I fully believe was unjust and I proved it to them. If I can't be respected as a seller and get the help I deserve when I wanted it then I have no desire to continue using swappa.
Great website to buy and sell gently used tech. Less expensive and fair pricing. It's great that the items must be approved before selling and the Swappa team works with you. Safe website to buy and sell phones.

Answer: Hi Peggy. If you receive a device that is not as advertised then you can return it for a refund. Our policy is that simple. Swappa staff works hard to prevent problems from happening, and PayPal has extensive buyer protections in case they do. Buy with confidence. Thanks for using Swappa.
Answer: Hi Alfred, Swappa requires all users to provide the ESN number for each device when creating a listing as a verification step. For more questions, please email our support team - [email protected] Thanks!
Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.
