Swappa generally enjoys a positive reputation for offering a reliable platform for buying and selling used electronics, with many users appreciating the thorough vetting of devices and the ease of transactions. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in response times and support during disputes, with numerous customers expressing frustration over unhelpful interactions and unresolved issues. Overall, while many customers report satisfaction, the negative experiences suggest a critical need for enhanced customer support and service transparency.

Great site. Easy to use. Lots of information and pictures that is required to sell on there. Sellers all have reputations and past comments from buyers. You can get a lot of information that you can't get on ebay or so.
It is still hard to believe how easy it was to post and sell my IPhone! I received what I was asking for without any haggling of the price! Wonderful experience and will definitely use them again!
I sold on Swappa and did not appreciate the hidden fees that were charged following the sale of my item. While They tell you about the $15 they themselves charge (I factored this into the price) they do not tell you about the transaction fee that PayPal will charge you (2-3%) as well as the shipping fees you'll have to pay out of pocket. The iPhone I listed for $420 sold but I only pocketed $340 after PayPal and shipping fees, the buyer themselves paid $450 after they paid taxes and fees! That's a pretty large sum of money to lose, especially when I could have used FB marketplace to avoid all of those fees entirely. I would not sell on Swappa again as I think the hidden fees you end up paying are not worth it. Swappa should clearly state ALL expected fees you'll pay WHEN YOURE LISTING and not after a sale so that a seller can factor this into the price of the item. I am dissatisfied at the idea of losing almost $100 to hidden charges and fees.
Great response from seller. Product was as described... The swappa website was easy to navigate and quick to respond too... Thanks
Long story short. Last phone I purchased from swappa ended up being a bad phone that the seller blamed me for breaking. Seller eventually sent me a message "full refund" along with their return address. I returned the phone and seller still refuses to refund me. Swappa staff were notified of the incident and did nothing. Seller still has my money along with their phone. The sellers name is "Sellworld." Be careful doing business on this website.
Swappa got a simple user interface to make purchases and see listing of items to buy as well.
Another feature that I like is the drop price chart that they provide you can see what an item currently sell for, so you can negotiate prices.
You talk to the seller, seller replies and you get what you order usually within 5 business days.
The best part is they use pay pal and they insure your package.
I have bought 7 phones from them no complaints up until now.
Cheaper also than most every other place.
I was looking for a new iPad Pro and I looked around at my carrier, eBay, facebook marketplace and swappa, the best deal was Swappa, not only is it hassle free to place an order on the site, you get 1 on 1 conversation between the buyer and seller. I use swappa for 99% of my electronic purchases.
I was hesitant on buying a used product, but I had read that they would do a full refund if the product was not as described and functional. I went through with a purchase, and the site provided me with all the information I needed including the shipping information. The site uses PayPal so the purchase was also covered in case there was any issues. After receiving my product, I am very satisfied with it and the process I used to purchase it. I would recommend this site to anyone interested in purchasing a used electronic device.
*The marks on the iPad are fingerprints

All around great experience
As a seller, I love Swappa. Easy going transaction, good and nice buyers. Fast and prompt response from Swappa whenever I need them! I was so surprised by their fast response first time actually! Awesome team! The buyers there are very nice too. They never give you a hard time to deal with! Of course, as a seller, I try my best to sell good and make my buyers feel easy and safe to buy too! Thank you all for a good business!
Swappa is my "go to" store for used phones and has been since they came around in ~2011 or so. I've been both a buyer and a seller and have never had an issue. Swappa goes that extra mile, I think, to ensure that sellers' descriptions are accurate and honest. I'm a big fan.
My friend told me about Swappa as he had bought multiple phones with no problems at all. I got exactly what was advertised and everything works fine. Would definitely recommend.
A great experience. Swappa has a lot of helpful info, including a checklist of things to do once you receive a phone and "complete" the purchase by confirming everything is ok. Before purchasing, I posted a few questions on the web page for a phone and someone from Swappa replied quickly to clarify part of their policy, then the seller (forlessfones) replied quickly with a few answers. Delivery was fast (with tracking), the phone was in excellent condition. Thanks!
Selling fees much more reasonable and fairly smooth process. Would prefer this most of the time over Ebay.
Highly recommend
I trust that what I buy on Swappa is what I will receive. This is in stark contrast to eBay and Mercari where you will most likely get a blacklisted phone or not the same phone that was pictured. I've sold and bought on Swappa with no issues. I know this probably won't continue as what good things in life do but if something bad happens I know Paypal will protect me.
Great product, quick delivery, great information to compare compatibility carriers, would recommend to anyone
I've purchased a phone and macbook pro on Swappa and couldn't have had a better experience with both sales! Was considering Ebay, but when purchasing something as expensive as a laptop, Swappa gave me piece of mind with their guarantee. Great sellers on both sales and will buy from Swappa in the future!
Very positive experience. I think I got lucky with a good buyer and seller, so be sure to be careful to check reviews of the person you are interacting with. But my experience worked out well.
Answer: Hi Neisha. Swappa is quite safe! Please see the 500+ reviews on this site referencing the safe and pleasant buying experience that is Swappa. Please email [email protected] if you have further questions. Thanks for using Swappa!
Answer: Hi Peggy. If you receive a device that is not as advertised then you can return it for a refund. Our policy is that simple. Swappa staff works hard to prevent problems from happening, and PayPal has extensive buyer protections in case they do. Buy with confidence. Thanks for using Swappa.
Answer: Hi Alfred, Swappa requires all users to provide the ESN number for each device when creating a listing as a verification step. For more questions, please email our support team - [email protected] Thanks!
Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.
