Swappa generally enjoys a positive reputation for offering a reliable platform for buying and selling used electronics, with many users appreciating the thorough vetting of devices and the ease of transactions. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in response times and support during disputes, with numerous customers expressing frustration over unhelpful interactions and unresolved issues. Overall, while many customers report satisfaction, the negative experiences suggest a critical need for enhanced customer support and service transparency.

I saw the site around for years and wondered if it was too good to be true but after doing my research and finally completing a purchase over the platform I have to say, this is awesome!
I love my new phone and the sense of security I get from PayPal's included 180-day Purchase Protection. I can't stop raving about how smooth it all was and will definitely be ordering more!
I don't think I'll ever buy another phone elsewhere. I'm very happy with my purchase.
Thanks swappa!
This website is actually really well Build made and secure. I highly recommend to everybody my experience has not been anything but excellent.
The site was great to shop on. The price and quality of the phones was great. Had some issues but all were handled as well as possible and resulting in a great shopping experience. Felt that the sellers have your back here
I recently discovered Swappa and started selling some items there.
They have a support team that works 24/7 and make sure everything you post there is legitimate and exactly what you said it was.
They go thru the pictures to make sure you didn't add any sensitive information about your devices.
All chats are public on there which in some ways is good but it also has it down sides. I assume it is their business model and I respect that.
The only downside about public chats is that someone competitors(sellers) can come and encourage you to lower the price of your item as if they wanted to buy it and when you do it. They don't buy it and everyone else trying to buy won't pay more than what is public.
If you ever want to buy any electronic device, check on Swappa first.
You won't be disappointed.
The seller was super quick to reply with any questions I had and the phone was just as described and at a great price!
Very easy to search and select what you're looking for by make, model and condition. I am very pleased!
I think Swappa is the best place to go for used cell phones and laptops. Zero scams, great review system, etc... I use them regularly to buy MacBooks for new developers at our company.
I've bought a laptop and 3 phones from this site, and sold 2 phones over the last 3 years. The process is easy, the customer service is prompt and helpful, and there is an assurance that you get what you pay for. Pay close attention to condition, because if something you buy isn't what it seems, you'll get your money back, it's happened to me one time.
Swappa has safeguards to ensure both the buyer and seller are legitimate. Smooth transaction, highly professional, doesn't get any better. Much better than ebay which bombarded me with scammers.
I just recently used Swappa for the first time and it was such a pleasant experience. It actually made me use the site again for a watch a few days later. I've been telling all my friends to look at Swappa if they are searching for some electronic device that Swappa might carry. I like that it seems to care for the products they allowed to be sold and not just offering a place to upload devices with no regard to functionality.
I placed order first time and i got right product fully satisfied with this website
I hope in future i will get the same service like this time
During my almost 6 year experience with Swappa, I can tell you it is really amazing. I have bought several items, mostly phones and once a mirrorless camera as well. They used to be just a "used" phone market but now they have grown to different electronic devices. I am surprised some people had some bad experiences with this website/app recently. I am so glad I never had a problem with their site nor with the people selling their devices. I really enjoy how easy everything is. I've never bought phones from Ebay because their platform looks confusing. I do not understand the bidding options so I use Swappa instead. I like how their staff is always monitoring the comment section to see if there are any bad actors or trolls. Their customer service is great and help the transitioning process when purchasing an item. If you are new to Swappa, I recommend you to try this platform out. The people selling their devices have some competitive prices especially the "Mint" conditioned devices. Not all devices are a deal, though, so do some research before shopping and do not rely on Swappa to always have the lowest prices. Thank you for reading and I hope you found this helpful.
PS: I have never returned an item so I do not know how returning items work.
I ordered a phone for $700 plus, conditioned on prompt shipment. The seller shipped on time -- by the slowest method, which is predicted by UPS to take six days, which means that it might arrive sometime late next week if I am lucky. Swappa said, "too bad, UPS ground is acceptable." Stick with Amazon fulfillment or Prime -- at least you'll get your item in some reasonable time. I buy horse equipment online and, even on Facebook Marketplace, the shipping time is less than 1/2 of Swappa. Stay away unless you have no need for what you are buying.
I received my Galaxy S10e phone and was pleasantly surprised about how good the condition was. The phone seems to work perfectly. The phone arrived exactly as the seller said. Swappa has a great service, and I intend to purchase another phone from them in the near future. I used PayPal and the transaction was seamless.
I bought a phone on swappa. The buyer sold me a clean ein iPhone but it was a prepaid variety that doesn't work on any normal network. The buyer admitted to this and was going to pay me then back out. Swappa told me to take it up with eBay. All the seller had to do to win the dispute is lie to PayPal and tell them I "Altered the device" Its just a he said she said thing. I informed swappa of this and they refused to do anything about it.
I purchased my phone here which am happy with. Everything was just fine: from the payment till the quality.
I like the selections and the service is great. I've been able to return phones, when they weren't what was expected, with no problems. I plan on using Swappa in the future when I eventually upgrade my phone.
Get the best value for your electronics, fast payment, excellent support services. I had a problem with selling or buying on Swappa site. I am recommending this site to everyone.
It was easy to use the app but we could not figure out how to arrange the payment - not sure if we're supposed to meet in person to exchange or mail but thanks for setting up communication!

Answer: Hi Peggy. If you receive a device that is not as advertised then you can return it for a refund. Our policy is that simple. Swappa staff works hard to prevent problems from happening, and PayPal has extensive buyer protections in case they do. Buy with confidence. Thanks for using Swappa.
Answer: Hi Alfred, Swappa requires all users to provide the ESN number for each device when creating a listing as a verification step. For more questions, please email our support team - [email protected] Thanks!
Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
The place to buy and sell newish tech. Safety, simplicity and staff-approved listing make Swappa the better way to buy and sell used phones, tablets, laptops, video games, home tech and more.

Donna,
Shipping on Swappa is built into the cost. Our shipping policy is here: https://swappa.com/faq/answer/safe_standard_shipping_policies
Comparing free shipping on Swappa to a paid yearly subscription model like Amazon prime is simply not a fair comparison.
Many of our sellers offer priority tracking and/or express shipping options if needed.
