I went for a sandwich to the Subway on Kirkstall Road Leeds on the 27 Jan, I wish I hadn't bothered, the male assistant was very rude and the rest of the staff looked like they couldn't be bothered. Won't be going there again, definitely don't recommend it. I wondered if it was because I'm old, I'm 72.
I recently had an experience of really poorly prepared and implemented promotion, The daily deal. I went in and ordered the Sunday sandwich, at the location I was at, the normal price was $5.89, the special price was $6.00. I discussed this with the counter person and she did not perceive and problem. I contacted The main Subway consumer line, they gave an anemic response of having the franchisee contact me. However, this location is shutting down because they lost their lease. I've reported the location before for leaking roof, which has been going on for years and Subway Corporate let this continue for years. Subway Corporate has a pat answer that the franchisee is responsible for all poor customer interaction. This is a lousy policy and really points out how much Subway cares about the customer experience, they don't and won't lift a finger. I've had other problems with using their app and franchisees not preparing the staff to process orders, not opening on time, running out of merchandise, poor sandwich prepping, poor preparer attitudes and so forth. Also corporate customer "care" is arbitrary on what they will respond too, when they will respond to and what they will do, and what they consider an appropriate resolution. The most disturbing is forcing the customer to continue to interact with a bad franchisee, it's like they want to punish you by having to go back to the offending establishment.
This happens so broadly, because Subway is absent in the customer experience and they have an official stance to not get involved. They are not apt to be proactive in customer service, support and value.
As a former employee, I would not trust this company for quality food. All meats come pre-sliced and frozen and are thawed 2 days before use. Bread is overproofed and baked anyway, resulting in flat, deflated loaves. Cheese comes in presliced packages as well as the wilting lettuce. "Black Forest Ham" is really just plain ham; this is basically a false advertisement - real Black Forest Ham comes from the Black Forest region of Germany. The tomatoes at both Subways I have worked at usually arrive rotten and soft if not close to decay.
In addition, employees are overworked and often work alone, resulting in longer wait times and poor service.
I personally refuse to step foot inside a Subway restaurant, but I wouldn't mind being banned. Subway's Human Resources department made the call to fire me for scratching the snow off of a *snow-covered license plate (It's illegal to have a covered plate).*
In my brutally honest opinion, Subway does not value its customers or its employees and is just another corporation out to make money and cheap food. Do yourself a favor and go to Jimmy John's, Quiznos or Firehouse. Anywhere but here.
Subway subs is a bs company! Have you ever seen the commercial where the bread is like 10" thick and the one pitiful slice of turkey meat they put on it is like a 16th of an inch thick! They need to get with the program, nobody wants a bunch of bread and no meat! The one and only best sandwich they offer is the meatball sub! They remind me of that sorry $#*! blimpies, man now that's another story! Jeesh! Talk about nasty!
The bread smells and tastes like chemicals. The chicken is despicable. The so-called "eat fresh" doesn't make any sense. These are all processed cold cuts - nothing fresh about them. They do have some fresh veggies - that's it. I like the meatball sub but that's about it.
I went to my local Subway restaurant and began to choose my sandwich. She asked which bread I wanted. I told her honey oat. She then said honey oat was discontinued. I immediately cancelled my order.
Ordered a 12" Roast Beef with bacon at the Subway in Forest City, NC. The clerk put 3 thin slices of meat on the bread. When I complained about how skimpy it was, the arrogant owner said, "If you want more meat, she would have to charge you $4.00 more. Which do you want, $1.50 or $4.00?" He then proceeded to put one more thin slice on the sandwich. The shame of it is that, back in the day, SUBWAY made sandwiches that looked as good as the ones in the TV ads. I have had similar experiences in NJ. I now make better sandwiches at home for a lot less. If anybody from Subway is listening, or gives a darn, wake up. It's time to have a conversation with the owners who use the SUBWAY name, before it's too late.
We stopped at a Subway in our hometown up on NE 6th St. In Grants Pass, Or. This was our first time going. The line was long when we walked in and more people came in behind us. Plenty of customers were sitting at tables as well. The line moved quickly, the employees were calm, friendly and efficient! I was very impressed and complimented them and left a tip. We took our order to go. I have to say that my husband and I both said it was the "best" sandwich we had ever gotten from "any" Subway "ever!" Nice job! I hope the owner knows what great employees they have working for them!
I love subway sandwiches and the fresh ingredients they use.!
This does not apply to all Subways. But, Subway #*******-0 at ******* Starkey Rd, Suite C, Largo Fl ******* is horrible. Being a vegetarian, I ordered a Veggie Delight. There was so little between the slices of the bun, I actually paid $5.88 for a bun flavored with vegetables. I've eaten at a lot of Subways and will never go back to this one. The worst.
Have you ever noticed the sandwiches are a lot smaller then advertised on TV. I questioned that and the clerk did not say anything.
Subway wasted money on Freddie Freeman ad giving bogo after he hits home run for the Atl Braves. Eight of our exercise class went to 8different Subways excited that lunch would be a buy one/get one. None of us able to get advertised sandwich. We are a senior group. Few have Facebook accounts but most days we eat out at lunch. None of us, nor our friends at exercise class have warm, fuzzy feelings about Subway. Guess no traditional Subways for football tailgates any more for us. Why advertise then make people mad? Poor marketing.
