I am grateful for StudentUniverse. With three students in college, they have come through in a clutch for me, and my family several times. They are legitimate, flights are affordable, and the customer care is stellar!

I'm ultimately happy with the price I got, especially since I was able to purchase an eSIM with my plane ticket. I'm hoping that works well in-country. The price of trip insurance was also average, which is of course better than overpriced. I also like the format of the whole website. It looks clean and feels pretty easy to use. I found the various specific filters helpful in choosing the right flight for me. However, I kept getting non-specific "error" messages when I tried to view the "My Trips" tap or log into my account on the site and in the app. I also had to wait around just to get onto the site due to high traffic even after Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals were over. This was annoyingly time-consuming and didn't seem to make sense after the holiday. It was also disappointing after all that to find that no holiday deals applied to my flight.

More significant, though, was the lack of guidance on how to connect my StudentUniverse booking to the actual airline and my loyalty account with that airline. It was frustrating as a student and first-time user of this site to be in the dark. I was lucky to have an aunt who's booked flights with travel agents before to help me figure it out. Basically, you go into your StudentUniverse booking and find the reservation number. The airline's website should have a place to "Find My Trip" where you plug in that reservation number and your last name. If you have an account with that airline, just make sure you're logged in when you do this and/or be sure to attach your loyalty number or account number to the flight reservation. You should also be able to attach your Know Traveler Number (KTN) for those with TSA Pre-Check.

Finally, even though I paid a lower-than-average price, I still wonder if I could've found a better deal with all the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales had I looked a bit harder. StudentUniverse doesn't guarantee the lowest prices or compensate customers who find the same flight for a lower price, so that's something to keep in mind: it's still worth looking for other deals before settling on a StudentUniverse flight.

I am not able to login to my account in the app.

Although Student Universe doesn't have extreme killer deals, it's still the only website that I've found so far that allows me to travel for a great price.
