So far my experience with Student Universe is good. I would admit it is not excellent as compared to what cheap promo sites like Booking, Trivago, and Skyscanner can offer but I think it is doing its best in reaching out to students. I just wanna give them credit for their efforts but after booking once in SU, I never booked there again with the premise that their prices are not really discounted.
I flew to Edinburgh, Scotland and back, last week. I used Student Universe to get my discounted airline tickets and they did a great job of issuing the ticket itinerary information and keeping me informed. I will definitely use them again for my next vacation!
Ok, at first booking with Student Universe seems almost too good to be true. The flight is cheap and you're all set- that is until a few weeks go by and you get an email saying there was a slip up on the company and you have to rebook new flights. Then you begin the lengthy process of dealing with 10 different customer service reps because not one person can help you book a new flight. It took almost 2 months for me to be CONFIRMED on a new flight after so much back and forth with various different people. It was so hard to find one employee who was confident enough to tell me the informaton they were giving me was accurate. Completely unprofessional, misinformed employees who make it very hard to help people rebook flights even though Student Universe is the one who is letting people book flights that don't make sense!
It's my first time with SU and it's great. I had many questions and the staff who took care of customer service answered everything very thoughtfully. It's easy to pay too. Then I got a flight with Qatar Airways with nice price and good service. Highly recommend.
The last few trips I took this year were last minute. SU had the cheapest flights for the last minute travelor. The also have monthly specials of 10 to 20 off per flight.
I've had to cancel two flights within 24 hours of booking. Both times got quickly onto a real human operator, who cancelled and fully refunded flights immediately. I've also booked a number of other flights through StudentUniverse, and they're normally some of the cheapest around and are ticketed immediately.
I have found that with wanting to go from New York to anywhere internationally they are always the cheapest. In fact a lot of the time the flight to New York costs more than the flight to London or wherever you're going

Fares are usually more expensive by about $5 (most likely their fee). Used to be great bc of $30 promo codes but now even $15 promo codes are few and far between. Only reason I used the site.
I started using Student Universe this summer when I went backpacking in Europe. I used the app to book all my international flights and smaller flights within Europe. Since then I use it every time I'm looking for flights! I go up from school in NC to family in New York City quite a bit, and I've never been steered wrong by a quick search or booking with Student Universe. When rescheduling my flight it was very difficult to hear the other line, after confirming it would only be 7$ more to reschedule my flight, and hearing an audible "yes" from the other line I was then charged an extra $77. When I wanted to cancel my flight they said I could not, even though I purchased the $9.75 insurance. This company is a scam that preys on students looking for reliable flights. I will never be booking with them again.
I had to cancel my flight due to getting accepted into the Correctional Officer Training Academy. My ticket cost me $257, and they said the price to cancel would exceed the ticket amount so they could not refund my money. This is such a joke. They also said that I can accept the credit to use for a future flight however, I would have to pay a $50 change fee. This site is such a joke. Why do I have to pay a change fee? I have the credit on file not a plane ticket with certain dates. I don't recommend them at all. They do not work with you, and they charge you for every little thing. I would recommend just paying a little extra on a different site.

I was nervous at first booking with Student Universe, mainly because they don't exactly have the best reviews. But I saw that the poor reviews were mainly for people who weren't able to change their flights or get a refund, even in emergency situations. Since I wasn't planning on changing my dates or flights, I went for it, and everything worked out perfectly. I flew to Dublin for about $200 cheaper than any of the other booking companies. I'd definitely book with them again. Thanks Student Universe!
Do not ever book with student flights swantson street there flights are crazy expensive and then it costs more to change a flight than to book a new one event though you paid 100 dollars extra to have a flexible ticket and then they informed me if I don't show up for a flight they will cancel all my other flights

#1 They do not let you book both student and non-student flights at the same time!
#2 If you attempt to book them separately, you will get screwed. Do not even try. As soon as you book the student flight and go to book the non-student flight, the price will shoot up for the regular adult flight and if will be completely worthless.
#3 It will take you 3-5 business days to get the charge back to your Credit Card if you cancel it!
I will never use this service again and I suggest you don't both unless you are strictly doing a student-only flight.

This is the worst company to book with! They overcharge you for flights and are unable to tell you what these fees are. Asking to pay a price for a new ticket just for change of flight dates, and they have bad customer service! Definitely not for students! DO NOT BOOK!

From the moment of my first contact, all the way through a last-minute name change, StudentUniverse made the booking and payment of 51 tickets for my high school choir a painless process. My representative, Michael Robinson, was with me every step of the way. He took the time to answer every question and made sure I totally understood every aspect of our ticket procedure. I would absolutely use them again, especially if I was able to have the same representative. My only suggestion would be to have a way that we could pick our seats. I had many students who had never flown before, so it would have been great to let them pick their seat mates. I don't know if this is something the StudentUniverse has any control over or not. It certainly did not affect my overall rating, because *everything* else was perfect!
