I was booking a flight and as soon as I was ready to purchase, their website crashed. I made sure it wasn't my internet connection or my laptop as I refreshed both multiple times, so then I had to have someone in another city help me book my flight. Other than that, booking with them was easy. Hopefully there won't be an issue when it's time for my flight.
I'm reading a lot of negative reviews about student universe but I booked a flight to Copenhagen, Denmark with Icelandair for $400 cheaper than airline prices and about $100 cheaper than any other travel booking site out there. So far I have not had any problems with my flight booked about a month ago leaving in November, so if you are reading this please don't let the other reviews discourage you. Student universe provides cheap flights and I stand behind their service. Will update review if I experience problems in the future.

I just booked a flight to Canada through Student Universe and got it at an amazing deal. This is not the only time I have used it for International and domestic flights. Most of the time you can find the best prices here (not always though). I use it as a baseline to see in comparison with other companies. Not sure why all of these other people are freaking out about charges and other prices. Haven't noticed anything of the sort. Better to be flexible while traveling than these people probably booking last minute. Overall, I like the site a lot. Would recommend.

More expensive than origin company. They take an extra substantial fee. Charged in USD despite using a NZ website booking a NZ flight, so cost me a lot in currency conversion fee. Got charged to cancel within 24 hrs. I wish i had not made this mistake.

Easy to use and to get assistance. They have actually cheep flights, my life would have been more fun if i knew about studentUniverse years ago. I found the flight I wanted quickly, flights offered were cheep and good flights, and I was charged the price listed and got, for an extra $5, a 72 hour full refund canceled. And there were no weird extra charges. I needed to add my TSA and frequent flier number and chatted with the message box and they responded quickly and didn't make me feel completely useless for not being able to figure out all the parts on my own. After that I everything was done and there where no mishaps with the plane, it was just normal boring flight.
I was pretty excited to purchase my ticket because the price was advertised pretty cheap. I entered all of my information and when I went to pay the price increases by 60 dollars. Literally from the time I entered my information to the time I went to buy. I tried to call customer service and the guy said he couldn't do anything for me and basically said I had to just pay the extra 60. He wasn't helpful and was rude.

This is the first time I've used SU. I booked a very expensive Christmas time flight from Brisbane to Boston. Had I booked through Qantas it would have spent 1700. 00 USD more since I waited until August. The flight times changed, which is typical (I've flown this route many times at this time of year). I called SU, the agent was able to change my reservation, I was already familiar with other flight times so I made the suggestions as to what to book, and that's what they did. Everything is confirmed, I'd have had the same experience calling Qantas direct.
Awesome site! I use them for booking international travel and each time have saved at least $300 compared to other sites. I'm surprised to read the negative reviews on here - I've been using this site for years and still recommend it to this day.

Alas, the hoops to go through when a legitimate cancellation happened due to a medical emergency were childish and unprofessional. Had I not "been on the case," I doubt the refund would have come. The backing and forthing between Student Universe and the actual airline was tedious to put it nicely. So, yes, fine for basic booking but HOEP nothing happens to need a change for whatever, human and real reason.
The customer service team responded quickly to a medical emergency resulting in a changed flight home at no extra charge and our family is forever grateful.
