They are by no means... the worst service provider on this planet.
No signal. No data... there customer service?! Woww... they don't know what is going on... 75% of them can not speak English well?!?!
One of them asked me to contact Sprint!
The other one told me that my data is going on and off because of Sprint towers!?!
When they tell you that they are going to connect you to the special department... then be ready to wait for at least an hour with no one to talk to you...
If you do not like the word (by the way)... don't even think of call them... they use this word more than you can imagine.
If you wanna get a phone plan don't think of Straight talk.
If you are already with them... brake it now because soon they will make you regret it.
Straight Talk is The Worst Cellular and Data Provider on This Planet.
I have never had to deal with a company with such horrible customer service! Most of the reps speak terrible English, they are rude, and argue with you! How do they really expect to keep customers like this!?
I have been dealing with this company for days now to no avail. My daughter is going to college and we needed to replace her current phone service with one that she could better afford so we called straight talk they assured us that her current phone would be able to be used with a BYOP kit. We bought a $45 BYOP kit and guess what it does not work on her phone we called them they said she needed to buy a phone from then we did that still no service. We called them again to speak to an incredibly rude woman who kept yelling at me, I finally asked her to transfer me to someone else and he tells me that he has fixed the issue and that her phone will be turned on in an hour. Well 3 hour later and still no service, still out $45 and the cost of the phone and a headache. Do not waste your time with this company as far as I can see they just take money and do not provide any service.
Couldn't use my Verizon phone. They couldn't explain why. Ended up using a cheap phone. They're not in America. Snotty. Hard to understand. They end calls without resolving. Takes multiple calls and the issue still won't be fixed. Will start talking and doing things without knowing the issue. Worthless customer service. The rep sent me a web link to resolve the internet not working. I've had to solve almost all issues (resetting APN etc) on my own because customer service always leaves me hanging. I am nice by nature but their customer service pushes me over the edge every time. Recently internet didn't work. I only needed the APN settings. The text wasn't arriving with the settings. They told me I needed to call from a different phone even though they COULD HEAR me because it was a tech support issue. They hung up 6 times without hearing I only needed the settings. Call handle time is important, but they don't even know what's going on. Like scattered ants. I had only 1 rep ever that listened and didn't waste time fixing imaginary issues. He sent me a text with all the info immediately because HE LISTENED! Oh, and according to the reps, each of them are the supervisor. Coverage is bad. Constantly dropping calls. Internet isn't good. You can do better for $50-$60 a month. This is a cheap company created to make easy money.
I finally got tired of Verizon's $150+ a month bills and extra charges a little over 3 years ago and decided to try StraightTalk. I have been nothing but happy with the price ($48.16 per month), the customer service, the reception and the phones available. Everything is unlimited; calling, texting and data usage plus I get Verizon as the automatic carrier (the only one that works in my area).
I see a lot of reviews here complaining about the phones themselves, but the phones I have purchased are brand new from the manufacturer and you get what you pay for. If a SIM card fails, StraightTalk will send you a new one expedited and not charge you for it. Customer Service is also extremely friendly and helpful. StraightTalk has all the latest smart phones available from $90-$600, you simply choose which one you want. No, the price of the phone is not hidden and rolled into the plan the way Sprint, Verizon and all of the others do and you must buy it outright. But, with your service there are also no hidden or extra fees.
StraightTalk works really well in bringing your cell phone costs down, especially as a single person and you DO NOT have to go to Wally World to get it. I found it much easier to just do everything directly on their website.
I would recommend (and do) StraightTalk to anyone.
More and more people are looking to cut their monthly phone bills in half! You could do the same by switching to Straight Talk!
Purchase one of Straight Talk's phones outright, purchase either the $45 Unlimited talk, text and data plan or the new $55 Unlimited talk, text and data plan... follow the easy setup instructions and start saving money! ($45 plan includes 5 GB of 4 G high speed data and then the data slows down to 3 G speed. $55 plan includes 10 GB of 4G high speed data and then slows down to 3 G speed.)
The only downside I discovered in 9 years of being a Straight Talk customer was the often poor Customer Service. (Most of the time it was easier to figure out how to fix problems myself rather than try to understand the poor English spoken by people from India, Chile or the Philippines.)
Worst phone company on the market. Customer service is almost non existent and if you are able to reach them they're rude, and none of them are American and are hard to understand. Iwireless has exceptional costumer service and unlimited data is truely unlimited even if you go past 20 GB.DON'T WASTE TIME AND MONEY WITH STRAIGHT TALK. Consider yourselves forewarned.
I had a year of great service. Bought a new phone. The 4g LTE did not work. After 3 hours on the phone, where they advised me that I needed to have another phone to fix this one (I live alone), I went over to Walmart to hopefully resolve. After an hour on the phone there, with a sales associate assisting, the phone did not work. I came back to the store to exchange my phone a few hours later. They would not exchange it. It's within the return time, but I would have to buy a NEW phone in order to keep my phone number and minutes. This makes no sense to me. They would not budge. I had no extra money to buy another phone. So I left the store.
Trust me, I will have a different phone with a different company within the week. Buyer beware!
I previously purchased a reconditioned phone, it arrived the next day, and lasted me a very long time. I even dropped it in water!
Although, I bought a brand new galaxy s4 on a saturday with free overnight shipping. Since I ordered it on a weekend, I didn't receive it until February 2nd (4 days ago.) I had to call straight talk customer service to track my phone, seeing as I only recieved an email saying the order was recieved. I tried to track my phone, and the "order number didn't exist.) I thought, mistakes happen. Well, since I've recieved the phone, I haven't dropped it, and treat it like porcelain. It has barely even touched the surface of a table because I set it on a shirt to avoid scratching the screen or camera lens. Like I said, I have not dropped it, bumped it, or anything in the four days I've had it. There is not a single scratch on it, no nicks in the frame of it, no cosmetic damage or system damage at all aside from the smudges you leave from your fingers, yet I go to unlock it and THE SCREEN DOESN'T WORK! It's completely black other than a few green lines. (LCD maybe?) But the point is, I bought a brand new phone and expected it to work as such.
I was so excited to get this phone, and I'm so disappointed in what I have recieved.
The screen no longer works after 0 damage to the phone.
I did not receive an email stating my order was processed or shipped.
And, straight talk bars OS updates, so the system OS is stuck at 4.3
I have been with straight talk for years. I recently bought a new phone from Wal-Mart which is a straight talk phone and my data was awesome with the other phone but this new phone is bull$#*!. I have had to call EVERY month because my data has been eaten up in just a week and I close all my aps, haven't been watching videos on YouTube, and haven't been playing any games or listening to any music. I've spoken to at least 11 people at straight talk and nobody can explain why my data is being burnt up. I've also had nothing but attitude with ever straight talk rep I've talked to. Straight talk is nothing but a scam and trying to steal money from you. I use my bank card one time and told them I didn't want it saved well guess what I was going to switch my phone to a different service with the same number and guess what this phone rang and was supposed to be needing a refill and I didn't but they saved my bank info anyways and refilled it anyway themselves yes I called and snapped on them. Straight is nothing but a rip off and its not true when they say 45 unlimited per month. Best to go to Verizon or somewhere else or at least Americans where you can understand them.
Recently purchased a new phone from StraightTalk and right out of the box it didn't work. I called customer service and was connected to someone in India. He had me on the phone for over a half hour. My phone kept saying "invalid SIM card". He told me that it would take a while for the activation and to just wait. I waited a half hour and called back. This time I got someone from somewhere in Europe. She actually figured out that SIM card was faulty and issued a new one which was to arrive in two business days. In the meantime, she said she would put my payment on hold till the phone was activated since I didn't have any service. The card arrived on the second day but the payment was processed the day before. I called and got the phone activated and she extended my service date. Before she extended my service date, my phone was enrolled in automatic refill. When I checked online after hanging up I noticed the the auto refill was cancelled. I tried to enroll online again but they wanted me to pay. I called back and explained to them the the auto refill was cancelled and I wanted to enroll again without being charged for another 30 days of service because I just paid for my service today. The lady told me that there was no record of me paying and hung up. One of the worst companies for customer service.
While I enjoy Straight Talk's phone service in general: great coverage, options to use unlocked phones of all types with the carrier or use one of straight talk's phones which they offer many quality phones, and generally good products, the website itself is a poorly upkept haven of glitches that has for the past two years been of absolute zero use to me despite the need to use it in order to keep my phone service on. The website ALWAYS seems to lose any record of me having an account, often times when it does, my credit or debit card never works due to some kind of errors on the site, and often times in the event it allows me to make a payment, it does not record the payment in which my phone often remains turned off as though I did not make a payment. I have never in my life seen such a useless website with so many operational errors that prevents paying customers from being able to keep on or reactivate their service.
You still get the great service and download speeds of the major providers, but at a much lower cost. WIN WIN!
I have had them for years and the only issue is sometimes the service isn't the greatest. They however have the best customer service I have ever had to deal with and it is a large part of the reason I stick with them. I have had to have malfunctioning phones replaced and when I have had issues with service plans I have had to call. Every time I am received by a very polite customer service rep who is considerate enough to let me know when he is waiting on his computer or an associate to respond rather than just leaving me on hold without a clue. As long as they continue to have decent prices and great customer service I will continue to be a customer of theirs.
My order stated my delivery time at 3-5 days, ordered in Jan. 2016. Got part of the order a month later, cheap garbage. I would not even use this dress as a night gown!
Oh, I had no idea the company was located in CHINA!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS JUNK!
I have no problems with this phone service. Great priced, Great Phones.
I got a phone from Straight Talk, it worked for 3 days. First time trying them and the last
PD
I have had straight talk for about 6-7 years, this past year has been a nightmare. Unable to get through to customer service, then being told what was happening wasn't happening, I work in tech support for a cell phone company so I knew what was going on. Got tired of that, so when it comes time to leave and go to Boost which the service is equally as good, but almost half the price, they won't port my number over. At this point, it isn't even worth it. I'll just change my number on every single document that I have filled out the past number of years instead of ever dealing with them again.
I won't even get into the nightmare of the BYOP plan and getting that one activated on a different device. Needless to say, I would rather that phone remain unactivated than ever give a dollar to this company again.
OK, so we get StraightTalk phones fo our office, most times they work great, but when they don't... they don't and there is no help. Or the help is so basic you are better off searching the vastness of the internet to find your answers. That being said, it is a good deal IF you do not depend on your phones for business.
Once you are signed on to Straight Talk, your service is pretty seamless. But, GOOD LUCK getting a Bring Your Own Phone Plan to WORK! Like one of the other posts here, they insisted I was trying to register two phones on one activation package (which I was not) they told me the phone was not eligible for activation (which it was), they told me they were working on it and it would take 25 hours from our conversation (three times), then told me that they had to send a NEW SIM Card, after I just purchased one. And, I would have to contact my old provider so I didn't lose my phone number! When I said, wait a minute⦠you transferred my number to StraightTalk, you have it, they said, OH, then we need to get you over to troubleshooting. They will have to do a few things to get your phone up and running. And, by the way, I had to pay $63 for the activation kit, plus ANOTHER $7.41 for another activation code, since they said the first one didn't work.
Good news is, they finally (after 4 days) got the phone up and running. But here's the next battle. It says "save money by enrolling in "auto-refill". Which is not a savings⦠it is exactly what it would cost over the counter. So I called, and was told "that offer expired in March". Still on the website though! Not worth fighting for $3 a month.
Answer: Cheaper than ATT for a landline. I never thought of the problems I am having trying to get service started. I don't know how they stay in business considering the gift fact that Verizon owns them.
Answer: I've been pretty consistently able to get a hold of them. As far as them being helpful not at all.
