Decided to switch to straight talk. I haven't even received my package in the mail yet and I'm already pissed off with how they handle things. They don't tell you your package requires a direct signature. Then they won't allow you to simply pick up your package from a nearby FedEx bc they state that once the package is purchased they're not allowed to make any changes to how the package is delivered. One that doesn't make sense. Two I'm a single working mother whom doesn't have the ability to stay at home all day waiting for FedEx to drop off my package at any given time in the day. I haven't even begun my plan w straight talk and I'm already canceling this phone service and new plan out. What a waste of time.

I recently switched to Straight Talk, brought my own phone (unlocked) and kept my same number as I had prior. I spent half of the day trying to get the service switched over. By late evening, my phone started working. I spoke with 4 customer service reps, none of which spoke clear English, nonetheless, the last service rep was able to thoroughly trouble shoot, and get my service working again. It seems to be "Nice for the price ", 1/2 of what I paid using another provider. I live near the city, for the short time I have had the service, seems to work okay.

Disappointed
April 26, 2019

With StraightTalk 4 yrs.
Received an email stating my phone is old and won't be supported after this year.
Purchased new Iphone at discounted amount via their site.
Order was cancelled by STalk and I was told my bank declined the charges.
Bank did not (confirmed with bank rep)
Called back, was told phone was out of stock in the color I selected.
I selected new color and then was told could not get the discounted price ($100 off) that was offered yesterday.
Going somewhere else.

April 25, 2019

Straight talk is just a bunch of theives. I cancelled my phone service with them and they continued to take money out of my account. I called to get a refund and the manager yelled at me. They are super nice to you as long as you are in service with them but the MINUTE you leave, they act like completely $#*!s. PLEASE PLEASE DONT USE THEM! It's not worth it.

Had this service for over 3 years on the same phone, nothing but trouble. Finally decided to switch providers. They informed me I could not unless I had service for over a year. I have it over 3 years. During my time with them, voice mail would not work, calls kept getting dropped, inside their service area, and more. Could never get anyone who spoke English well enough to understand the issues. Would not recommend to anyone.

Horrible service
March 21, 2019

My data hasn't worked sense I renewed my service $45 and I have no data and it hasn't worked. The rep argued with my wife and said I used all three gb in less than a day. They're rediculous and don't listen. Nor do they apologize or fix their mess ups.

I have been dealing with this company for well over a year. They refuse to unlock my phone so that I can switch companies because they do not have international calling. They tried to tell me I had 46 days left. They tried to tell me the same thing when I called a few months back. I just refilled my phone and they will not even give me a refund because I want to cancel my service with them. I also was on hold for 1 1/2 hours which is unacceptable! I would not refer ANYONE to this company especially if they need international calling or just want to stop service. NO REFUND will be issued back to the customer.

Sucks
January 4, 2019

I wish I would've stayed with Verizon even though I wouldn't be saving money. When ordering this plan online they wanted to know what carrier I had been using. Verizon wasnt on the checklist since checked "other". When I received my Sim card and inserted it I started noticing problems; couldn't connect to Internet unless on WiFi, couldn't receive or send pictures/video and random local calls coming/going as international calls. I never received the settings that I was suppose to receive. I called customer service and they told me I should've gotten a Verizon Sim card and not the AT&T that they sent. I told the foreigner about me checking "other" because Verizon wasn't an option. She had the audacity to tell me that I would need to purchase the correct Sim card! We went back and forth for about 5 minutes. She was determined that I would have to PURCHASE the correct Sim card. She finally hung up on me. I searched the Internet for solutions. I changed my setting to no avail. After almost a month the only problem changing the settings resolved was the Internet connection when not on WiFi. I wish I would've researched reviews before I left Verizon.

Firstly I tried to set up my BYOP phone at the Straight Talk website
Through my existing account as a phone transfer. I had a phone with

Your own risk because their employees might cut off your phone instead.

I posted this review at ST when ST asked me to review them. I got an email saying they moderated my review which "didn't meet their website guidelines" and means they didn't publish my review. I've taken a screenshot of their email to me. I assume any reviews you read about them from ST are blocked if they are not good reviews. That's not a good way to do business.

Dont use this company!
November 30, 2018

I would not even give them a 1 star!
My boyfriend's phone was under warranty and his phone started overheating and freezing on him. It's under warranty so we just thought we will just call and have a replacement phone sent. I called to get a replacement sent. They sent a FedEx envelope for me to send it to them. And they said after they get the phone we will have the replacement phone in 3-5 business days. When I received the FedEx envelope I thought it was strange that there was no tracking number on the label for me to keep to track it to make sure they got it. I sent it anyway cause we needed his phone replaced cause he uses it for his lawn care company. So I sent it off at the end of June. I got the replacement phone finally in October! I would call 2-3 times a week to find out where his phone was! I was lied to SO many times! And then when we finally did get the phone that one was locking up on the second day! I calle d the BBB on them. Then they going to tell me that I have to send the phone I have first before they would replace it again! I talked to a guy name King the assistant manager at the corporate office and he had NO customer service with him at all! Even got smart with me! I am sending this phone off yet again and so help me if it takes 4 months to get this one I will see and make sure that this customer service department will feel the heat! I have at&t. I will NEVER use straight talk. Yes it is cheaper but come customer service you gert what you pay for!

Worst company ever when it come to a problem. After 3 hours 3 phone calls 2 dropped calls when being transfered no one could fix the problem. Some how a zip code got changed on my acct. There for my phone number cant get transfered to new phone. Second problem is ordering phones on the straight talk web site and putting in your zip code to look for phone doesnt work seeing ive gotten 3 phones that dont work in our area. Now i recently moved and the 3rd phone i purchased with my new zip code still got sent a phone that dont work here. No compensation what so ever. 3 phones 3 returned shipping i have paid for ans now im out 22 days on my service. They dont care. Its their fault and all they say is sorry. Nothing to make it right. Good by straight talk. And ive had straight talk for over 6 years

I wanted to buy a new Samsung cell phone and upgrade, so I ask straight talk to unlock my old phone so I could sell it. They said they can't do it. But offered to buy my old cell phone from me for $10... what a complete joke. So I called Samsung to get the truth, and they told me that straight talk can unlock my phone... bottom line they lied straight to my face! So after 7 years with straight talk I'm leaving. They have no honor and integrity... forever DONE!

If you have to use them whatever you do don't do Auto pay. Had to cancel a debit card and they charged my account two days early before I could plug in my new card so my phone got shut off for maybe 15 mins because I called right away that morning and got it paid. My phone was back on and everything was good, until the next day when my SIM card stop working. When I called them they said it quit working because my phone was shut off even though it wasn't a long period at all! They said I need to pay 25 dollars for a new one. So I cancelled with them and the funny part is I got my money back then, when I cancelled with them. My husband scenario was not like that. We were trying to cancel straight talk before he was charged and we were waiting on a phone to come in.
His account was charged the 18th 2 months in a row, then 17th two months in row, so I figured the 16th would be next, but nope. Here we are Monday the 15th being charged for his account and they will not refund our money back either even the manager denied it. Even though it's a service we are not using they will not give us our money back. So now we are out 50 dollars and its towards a stupid company we are not using! I will NEVER USE STRAIGHT TALK EVER AGAIN! WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS!

AT&T PREPAID IS WAY BETTER and they don't screw over customers!

Shipping is terrible

Shipping is terrible
What was reported as a 3 day shipping end up being a 8 day shipping. A $700 phone was left on front door after 8 days with inaccurate tracking. Wal-Mart would have shipped Straight Talk phone better.

For someone on a budget Straight Talk is a decent option, Verizon and contract companies are overpriced even their prepaid plans are out to compete with Straight Talk, when I went to my local mall and visited Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile they all claim to price match any company no matter what, when they ask what carrier I currently have I said straight talk they just smiled they couldn't price match it. My experience with straight talk is good, There customer service to transfer my service from my Samsung Galaxy s8 to galaxy s9+ was simple as soon as I received my sim card in the mail, i contacted them via online chat and they handled it quickly. And my phone was up and operational within minutes. My LTE so far is fast and video runs smoothly. If you have an issue with calling them use their online chat.

Do not purchase an iPhone through them. They make it look like you do not have to use their service, but you do! I have been waiting 2 months for my refund after returning my phone! I just spent 30 minutes with customer service trying to find out why I had not received my refund yet, only to get a ticket number. I am suppose be receiving my refund within 48 hours. I will post some additional comments if I dont!

Outsourcing to India?
November 30, 2017

Unbelievable disgust. Bought new Straight Talk phone, ordered SIMcard, since mine didnt come with one. After 2 days of screaming and yelling... OMG by magic the SIM finally arrived. Put it in new phone, called to have them activate it. After speaking with Bob, Dave and finally Jim... I was told my phone was not compatible. WRONG! I ended up going online, and activated my new SIM to my new phone all by myself. Incompatible my $#*!! They are not trained well enough, they truly do not understand ENGLISH, and they speak it even worse than someone from Kentucky (no offense to Kentuckians). After I hung up on the supervisor because he was also inept, he actually called me back, and asked me... so, is your new phone activated? Since I had ALREADY told him I activated my phone ON MY OWN, for the 4th time, I finally just said you listen just as poorly as your reps, and hung up for the final time. Straight Talk... quit OUTSOURCING TO INDIA! They make you look worse than you already are! Just disgusted
