The company has garnered mixed feedback, with some customers appreciating the quality and fit of the clothing, particularly for specific styles that resonate with their personal tastes. However, a significant number of reviews highlight serious concerns regarding customer service, particularly the difficulty in canceling subscriptions, unresponsive support, and billing issues. Many customers express frustration over receiving items that do not align with their requests, leading to dissatisfaction with the overall shopping experience. This disconnect between customer expectations and service delivery suggests a need for improved communication and operational efficiency to enhance customer satisfaction.

My issue is my payment method. When I set up my payment method on their website I saw two options. The first option was to enter my credit card information manually and my second option was to choose PayPal. I chose PayPal.
Unbeknownst to me, behind the scenes, my purchases were being directed to my Venmo account. Which in turn affected my bank account negatively. (The problem is I never saw Venmo as an option. Never. And once I made an order by selecting "buy now" my order went through instantaneously.) I never received an option to review my order before submitting it. At the time I didn't think that was a problem because I didn't know there was a problem occurring. I didn't know there was a problem until my bank sent me an overdraft notice.
I only learned of the problem when I received an overdraft notice from my bank. I immediately contacted stitch fix and requested they stop processing any orders I had in "que" because I had no way of canceling any orders on my end. They ignored me and just continued to process the orders I had remaining in their "que.".
I put a stop payment on at my bank account thinking that would cancel any remaining orders. I was wrong because then Venmo began paying stitchfix. I didn't know Venmo was going to start paying my stitch-fix charges AND because my Venmo balance was at Zero they began charging me "recovery fees". I thought they would reject the charges which would cancel the orders.
Mind you, I returned approximately 95% of the merchandise I purchased from Stitchfix.
I should not be held liable for an excess of $200 in "recovery fees" from Venmo. I wholeheartedly believe stitch fix owes me the money. It was their engineering that was poorly managed which caused this problem. I did nothing wrong.
They rightly owe me over $200 and are not looking for the facts. Very upsetting. ……………………………………...
I never chose Venmo to pay for my purchases via stitch fix. If you look at the picture I have attached it shows what my two options were, yet Stitchfix says I selected Venmo.
Although I did enjoy some of my clothing, it was a hassle. Stylists continued to not listen. For example, they sent me jeans, even though I specifically told them "no jeans" I ended having to send the entire fix back. Furthermore, if you do not like the fix preview and do not choose the initial clothing that the stylist chooses for you, they send you a fix with clothes that you never see until it shows up at your door! Crazy that they do not allow you to work with the stylist to choose the clothes more than one time per "fix". Service had potential, but it is poorly managed and the management staff clearly has no vision for making simple upgrades in the process that would markedly improve their clientele's experience and cut back on the dramatic waste of money on returns and client turnover due to frustration with this company.
I gave them several tries but have finally given up. The first & second shipments were good then suddenly the quality tanked and my "stylist" listened to nothing I said. BEWARE - if they start the "styling" process you're credit card is hit for $20. Even if you cancel WELL AHEAD of the ship date, you never have that fee returned! I'll shop local from now on.
I really enjoy the idea of this service. I don't like shopping myself and I thought it amazing that I could have someone with more style than I help me with my clothes shopping. Their customer service and returns were always top-notch. I had an order go missing in the mail and they sent me another immediately, no questions asked. Any issue I brought to them was rectified quickly and satisfactorily. I bought from them primarily because it was so easy to order and return items and I could trust their customer service.
However, after having the service for over a year (with hundreds of dollars spent on clothing), I canceled my subscription with a sour taste in my mouth. Despite my detailed notes/requests, I was often sent shapeless, unflattering pieces that I could see my grandmother wearing (I am 25). Sometimes I did receive items I really liked, but often the other picks were just "eh". Whenever I would request to keep a stylist, I would end up with a new stylist anyway. I took the time to leave detailed feedback on every single piece I kept or returned as they recommended, but either I felt that the stylists did not take any of this feedback into consideration, OR they took it to the extreme. I mentioned in one note that my favorite color was olive green and after that everything they sent me was that color... come on, I don't need everything I own to be only ONE color!
Not too long after they opened the online shop I quit the subscription. I continued to purchase items that I specifically chose. It was around this time that I found that the clothing I had purchased in the fixes - jeans, shirts, shoes - was just not holding up. The items I got were very, very poor quality. I would expect $45 shirts and $80 jeans to last longer than a $5 fast-fashion blouse from Ross. I no longer buy from Stitch Fix at all because the quality was a massive disappointment. The service is simply not worth it for the price.
I started getting Stitch Fix boxes in 2019 and got great fixes until 2021. Most boxes I just kept all to most of it. Since 2021, the quality has gradually gone down until its no better than just cheap cheap merch. I got a fix of 5 items yesterday. I left a note that I am an older 50 year old woman who likes natural fibers esp in Summer, live in Oklahoma, and need tops. They sent 4 tops and a dress. All polyester with one exception. The exception was a Poly linen blend top that was cut so poorly my back fat was exposed and was a size too big anyway so the arm holes hung to nearly my waist. 2 tops were 100 % polyester, in my notes I told them specifically that I dont wear tie fronts so naturally they send one of those as well. One top I did like the style but again 100 % BAD PLASTICY Polyester that sounded like a garbage bag when you touched it. The dress was equally bad if not worse. Stitch Fix used to be known for their soft brushed knit dresses. This wasnt one of them. It was the cheapest polyester and Felt BAD. On top of that, it was a cold shoulder. Im Not 25. Dont try to dress a 50 year old woman like shes 25. I dress age appropriately and not saying dressing any other way is bad but they know I dress this way its in my notes. This company has slid downhill since CEO change. Its very apparant in Quality. Quality is lacking in a significant way. Cheap Polyester. No more soft brushed knit. I DO NOT recommend at the moment. Until Significant changes are made.
I got to fix boxes from them and returned every single item in but. I wrote lengthy notes on what I'm looking for, what I like, and what I hate. I posted well over 100 pictures to my idea board showing styles I love and for every picture I included a description explaining what I loved about the item. Both fix boxes I received were terrible. There wasn't a single item in either box I would have willingly worn or paid for. Many items sent were styles I specifically told them I hate. It was like they sent the opposite of what I was asking for. The clothing was all totally shapeless, like wearing a trashbag. It was also incredibly outdated. Several of the tops they sent looked exactly like things I remember my great grandma wearing before she died over 20 years ago. The clothing was so ugly. I even told them in the reviews after the first fix that most of the items in the box were so bad I wouldn't wear them unless my only other option was running naked through a crowded public area. The second box was just as bad. I'm beginning to wonder if anything the company sells actually looks nice. That aside, all their prices are way over inflated. For almost everything they sent I have seen similar items for sale locally at a third of the price they charge. So basically they don't match the style to your preferences, the clothes are ugly and shapeless, and to top it all off, everything is over priced. I cannot even begin to express how absolutely horrible this company is. Do not waste your money. The only thing they might be good for is buying clothes for elderly people who have lots of money to blow and don't care what they look like.
So I went to stitch fix to look for new clothes and clothes that fit. I'm not only really skinny but I'm really short for a guy as well so shopping for clothing can be really challenging especially clothing that's actually age appropriate. Stitch fix seems like their stylists take your size into consideration as it's the first thing you put into your website but my "Stylist" was 100% a robot or just plain braindead. I wear size 7 shoes, and small shirts, I got a size 11.5 shoe with only large and extra large shirts that absolutely did not fit any specifications that I wanted. Now I have to return them in 3 days or I get charged almost $300. Shop somewhere else.

Just recieved my first pick and it was almost completely opposite what one would expect based on what I answered to their questions in regards to color, style, and cut. I don't know why I'd pay a stylist to make worse choices than grabbing things randomly from a discount store. The fabrics were nasty high polyester blends that felt and looked cheap and low quality.
So many issues where to begin. No customer service number. Was planning to keep 2 of the 5 items, but before I sent the box out, one of the items I planned to keep, fell apart with in 2 hours. Wanted to return that item as well. There was no way to add that to the items I wanted to send back and no option to return it. Tried for a while to contact them and like a week later they charged my card for all the clothes even though it says you have 30 days to return items. Finally found a customer service number online and called. They made it so I was able to send back all 4 items and was credited my money back. They contacted me today, weeks after I returned the items claiming the never received one of them back and AGAIN, removed money from my account. All of the items were in the box I shipped back and they're claiming they weren't. I am BEYOND pissed off at this point. Honestly don't use StitchFix, I feel like they're just scamming people.
I was extremely unimpressed with Stitchfix. Stitchfix is a company who assigns you a stylist based on your style profile you establish in a questionnaire prior to receiving your first shipment.
-They charge full retail for everything. You can get a price adjustment if you go on their site and send them a link to the cheaper price. Doesn't that defeat the purpose? I don't wish to shop, that is why I went to Stitchfix. They sent me a pair of shoes that they tried to sell me $70, I found the same shoes on Amazon for $36. I didn't spend a lot of time looking for the best deal, I just found that Stitchfix is ALWAYS the worst deal.
-Be careful with their private label items. You obviously can't price compare their private labels, so you are stuck at full retail. The stuff they sent me that was private label was cheaply made and priced like it was a top quality name brand.
-I was highly unimpressed with their choices for me. I clicked through a lot of items showing what I would and wouldn't wear. Essentially everything I said I wouldn't wear was sent to me. I find it hard to believe a human is doing any of the styling, it sure seems like it is an overpriced algorithm to me.
I don't care much about the $20 "styling fee". I figure that is mostly to cover shipping and return shipping (since the chances of them sending me 5 things that are actually wearable seems pretty close to 0%). I disliked the obvious price gouging when you are already paying for shipping, styling, etc. No one pays full retail for anything when a better deal is a simple Google search away.
I will never do business with this company again.
I think Stitch Fix is such a fun way to shop! Having a stylist pick out clothes for you based on likes, dislikes and body type is so fun. Try on all 5 pieces, keep what you love, and return what you don't love! So fun! Love!
I love this online store. I let them them know that usps delivered my package damaged and they sent me another one to make up for someone else's mistake without asking. Thank you so much stitchfix!
My stylist is great with variety and matching pieces. Please give accurate measurements for a great fit!
I have used stitch fix for well over a year and spent HUNDREDS of dollars with them. The problem is, you can't ever cancel. Or remove your payment method from the website. I received another "fix" after I had canceled. Even if you turn off automatic shipments, the only option is to pick your next shipment date and you have to login and keep postponing to infinity. It's ridiculous. And there is no way to talk to a real person. Never again!
They don't send you full outfits like they advertise. I was sent one pair of jeans with four shirts to pair with. That's what I already do. No help in giving me a new wardrobe change.
If you would had asked me a month ago what my stitch fix experience was I would tell you 5 stars! They have honestly nailed my style every single time and the shipping is AMAZING. It's hit or miss depending on the stylist you receive but you can always keep your old one! This past month I had the worst possible thing happen. I bought a sweater through free styles option. I waited over a week and a half and still no sweater. I reach out to customer support and they inform me that I can have another sweater sent out but they have to charge me for the sweater. Making the replacement sweater just me buying the sweater again. I was informed that they would watch my shipping information and eventually mark it lost and refund my original sweater. Maybe I'm just used to amazons impeccable customer service but this was not a proper solution. I requested that they send a replacement sweater and if the other one ever made it to my house I would gladly send it back. Since they include a return label in ever package they send out it wouldn't be an inconvenience to them whatsoever.
My wardrobe was in serious need of help. Enter Stitchfix. So far it's been a great experience. Lots of great new tops for all those zoom meetings!
This is my second box and I was offered 4 choices of a very similiar top and a pair of jeans. I was not impressed by this. I declined all but the jeans, but the replacement styles were equally as boring. If you are looking for basics to build your wardrobe this is the right service. I'm seeking something more unique and fun.
Answer: Credits are applied during checkout, not while you browse or put stuff in your cart.
Answer: No. The COMPUTER will then select pieces to replace those in the fix. The stylist is then locked into these choices. They might have a couple items the computer picks to choose from like we do when we preview, but they do not go and pick items. So if you request color and specific fabrics (no polyester) but the computer comes back with neutrals and a polyester jacket, that's what they will choose from.
Answer: They want you to pay them, even when you decide not to use them. The feel since they are in the UK, American laws don't apply to them. So they will charge you for there mistakes.
Answer: They make you buy the clothes and they will keep your card in file until you pay them.
