Horrible service

Sixteen days before they even shipped my order!
I ordered a pair of boots that my daughter has had her eye on for nearly a year. Stateline did not ship them or send an order confirmation for 4 days. Finally I checked my account and it said that I needed to call customer service. They said they needed to confirm that I was actually the one who placed the order.
So I gave them my card number again and said, "Yes I placed the order. Please send the boots."
They assured me they would send the boots immediately. Still no confirmation email and no contact via email from them. However the order status did say that the order was processing.
Finally I got an email today that said the order had shipped.
Order processing August 16, order shipped Aug 29? And no contact from the company in between? Ridiculous! I will NEVER do business with this company again!

I ordered three cat scratchers from State Line Tack. Everything was great until the day of delivery. I first noticed that the box was packaged oddly, as if there was an extra flap taped on the middle section. This was about a 5 foot long box. I undid the "extra flap" and there was an oily stain about 12" x 17" that was obviously citronella oil. I opened up the rest of the box and one scratcher was pretty well covered with the oil, one had a little on it, and the third was fine. It was apparent that someone spilled citronella oil on the box, they sell citronella on their site, and instead of using a new box they covered it up with a flap. Absolutely no pride in their work. This box was saturated with the oil, it wasn't like a little dab of oil that dried up. I wrote to them and they have not responded yet. I didn't want to return this because of the hassle now that it's been opened but I'm also trying to practice all Covid 19 guidelines. I don't see this as an urgent matter so I'm keeping them and putting this in my lesson learned file. This is only my second bad review of a company ever. No excuse for what they did.

Almost every review I've ever read about the company says that their customer service was awful. However, after purchasing an order of over $600, which i received a 30% discount on everything, bringing the price well below $450, our order status was "order on hold, contact customer care". I was confused at first and so I emailed them. I didn't hear back for a few days, this being normal for a large company, so I called.

I was on hold for less than 10 minutes before someone answered, which is amazing. The worker was extremely friendly and helped me solve my problem in just a few seconds, even going the extra mile to advise me about a specific product on our list.

Apparently the city we live in has a separate zip code to the outer-limits such as the country, where we live. It got flagged in their system because it didn't match. The woman quickly passed the order through. When I asked if she could give me an estimated ship time, due to covid giving them delays I was curious, she looked for me without hesitation. She then noticed that one of our items looked to be a canceled product. Instead of just allowing us to pay for it without ever receiving it, she took the time to call down to the warehouse and check with them to see if they had any leftover in stock, when they came up empty, she took the item off of the order. We did not pay for the item nor were there any order change fees.

She then recommended a few alternatives to the item, offering the same 30% discount on them if I found something I liked, despite the new order not being over the required $120-ish minimum. She also offered the option for her to combine to orders after so that they would be shipped together, reducing costs on my end.

I was VERY pleased with her kindness, knowledge of the products, ability to help with my problem, the willingness to go the extra mile for my convenience and the overall job well done.

1st Order clippers went good! 2nd Order lead ropes went good! 3rd Order Spur straps and they try to charge me again for lead ropes & 2 times for spur straps! Don't use them but 1 time!

AWFUL COMPANY

FULL TRANSPARENCY - THIS IS MY FIRST NEGATIVE REVIEW (any review of a company for that matter) I HAVE EVER POSTED BC ITS THAT BAD!
I placed an order 6 weeks ago - Hate to even waste another min on this company but long story short - DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! I Have only received half my order, which came damaged and I have spend countless HOURS on the phone with customer service and NOTHING is resolved. When I am "guaranteed" a resolution, it is never done. I have been charged more than my original order amount (have changed shipping cost) and not even received everything. Also they can have low prices bc this charged you an ARM and a LEG for shipping bc of weight but if you look at what they claim the product weighs its ridiculous. Something that weighs maybe 5lbs they claim it weighs 28.5 lbs. It is 128 oz, its ridiculous. If you call customer service they say all they can do is have a supervisor call you back which never happens. Whats funny is when I said I would wait on the line for however long it takes to get a supervisor on the phone I am told they can not do that bc it will tie up a line for other people to make orders... seriously - you want to take more orders when you cant even get mine done. I am having to file a fraud charge with my credit card bc that is the only resolution I can come to and the Customer Service rep even said to do it if that is what I needed to do. Could go on and on about how awful this experience has been but I don't want to waste another second of my time on this company! DO yourself a favor and DO NOT order - I have looked at reviews and it may look like they have a good rating but check out the most recent reviews.

I called to order 12 country vet insecticide spray cans. Completed order, than read my email confirmation, only to find they had ordered 24 cans. Called and cancelled order but the young lady did not get this done, so order shipped4 days later. Called again, they said could not refunded money till I received order and requested a shipping label. 3 more days went by and my bank account had been charged $267.00 for these cases which had been called. I finally called again and did get someone to follow through, maybe because I threatened to call state attorneys office. I still do not have a credit for this cancelled order that I request be cancelled on the 23 of July, it is now August 8th. NEVER WILL DO BUSINESS WITH STATE LINE TACK.

I will not shop here or at any of their other sites again. Unfortunately, this is the only place you can read a real unfiltered review for statelinetack.com (and as you can see there are a lot of bad reviews) because they filter their reviews on the website and apparently the BBB gives them a free pass because they are paid members. I wish I would have done more internet searches for reviews before ordering. I had a terrible experience with this DISHONEST company. I placed my order on 7/16/2020 for a new fly sheet. The website said it was in stock and would ship 2-5 business days. They moved the shipping date twice all while it said it was in stock on their site. It is now 8/5/2020 and they sent me an email cancelling my order *SAYING THEY NO LONGER CARRY THE ITEM DESPITE IT STILL BEING AVAILABLE AS IN STOCK ON THEIR WEBSITE.* Before this, I sent two emails and made two phone calls to the company inquiring about the order. I received no response from the emails and could not get a person on the phone via their 'customer service' number. I can't believe the BBB 'accredits' this company and it shows how much you can't really trust BBB anymore either. Very disappointing on many levels. This company does not deserve your business. In the age of Amazon-level customer service this company doesn't even register on the map. I will spend my money elsewhere.

Vaccinations

I received vaccinations for my dogs. Contained in styrofoam container, but the ice packs were broken. So gewy stuff all over everything, not cold anymore, product needs to be refrigerated. I emailed them, can't get thru on the phone, NEVER received a response. Now I'm out $50. I'm afraid to inject into my dogs as they weren't cold, no idea how long. How did the ice packs get broken? STEER CLEAR cuz if there's a problem you won't get a response.

Ordered several items & all were listed as being in stock.
Was told that items would be shipped in 2-4 days.
Got an order update after a week saying items were not in stock.
Would have never ordered if items were not immediately available.
Two weeks later, they emailed me saying that they would ship in another week.
Emailed them to cancel order, got no reply.
Called & was on hold for over 20 minutes.
When a rep came on, she said they had no way to cancel an order other than emailing warehouse.
Then there was no guarantee that the order would be cancelled.
Never, ever heard of a business being unable to cancel an order.
Seems they get your money, then order from an outside supplier, keeping nothing in stock.
So you get your stuff after they order it then ship to you.
Maybe they don't get that customers expect to receive their orders promptly.
And if they don't stock an item, state that on the listing or take the listing down until it is in stock.
Companies like this are why Amazon is getting all the online business these days.
Avoid State Line Tack like the plague!

State Line Tack has a great selection of products with competitive pricing. Shipping is an absolute NIGHTMARE. I bought a new horse and am getting back into riding so I needed to order a ton of stuff. I placed an order thinking the horse will arrive in 12 days so I'll be good. The order was placed on July 11 and had not shipped within a week. I called their customer service and was informed they only pack/ship orders quickly that pay for expedited delivery. So, even though the delivery days of how long it will take to receive your items are posted they do not call out they pack/prioritize all priority shipments. If the web site would have clearly stated we will not even pack your order to ship for two full weeks unless you pay for expedited shipping, I would have done that. Furthermore, she told me there was nothing she could do to help expedite. I just had to wait. It has been 14 days since I placed the order and it still hasn't shipped. I WILL NEVER order from Stateline Tack again. I have since placed orders with Smart Pak, Dover, and Valley Vet. All packages arrived within a couple of days with no expedited anything. In this day and age, you can't have horrible customer service and shipping practices and expect to stay in business.

Be wary, these guys play hardball. They advertise items as in stock when they are not. They accept your order and thank you for the order. And then the emails start explaining items will be delayed. One email, two email. Three emails. Items are delayed for months. And then you give up & buy the stuff somewhere else and call them and email them and speak to their customer service representatives and they apologize and they tell you the order has not been put in the queue for processing yet... AND THEY SHIP THAT DAY. And they apologize again and swear they will have the package re-directed. But that is a lie, because that package is coming no matter what I say or do. And I call to make sure it will be okay to refuse delivery and they will then take it back... And the manager says "she does not recommend that because if the item is damaged in transit, I will be responsible for the shipment"... And that is great and all but my last seven shipments were damaged in shipping because they don't use packing and the items just flop around & the get destroyed. My last seven shipments. Like I said, they play hardball. And I am forced to accept the items no matter what and I will be forced to pay to send them back. Do not order from these people. They have all the answers and they play hardball. NO matter what the customer looses.

Excuses--excuses

I submitted an almost $300.00 order. They took it off my credit card that day-- but trying to get product impossible. Almost 2 months latter-- mid July-- no fly spray systems. The box of fly spray- wormers, etc well over 6 weeks with no communication what was going on! They send an "expected date" that comes and goes. A week latter another expected date. This happened to all but bridle on my order. And even that took stupid time to send. I've asked for money returned to my card. No response. There are alot of reputable horse tack shops--- this isn't one of them. I'm a nurse-- they can't blame Covid for this. Although I'm sure that'll be next excuse.

I've ordered 3 times this summer. The first order took 2 weeks to ship (a in stock item), the second order a bit longer, now this 3rd order has been a month and still has not shipped. I've made 3 phone calls to Stateline. I get the same response, they have contacted the vendor (DiamondWool), and are awaiting a reply. Insane. I asked for expedited shipping when it finally does ship, that wasn't guaranteed either. Pure craziness.

Unbelievably bad

I had received a gift card from my husband for Mother's Day for $50 for Stateline Tack. I've ordered from them for over the past 20 years with no issues.
I have yet to receive two different saddle pads that were ordered shortly after I received my gift card. 2 months now. Not only does my order not show in my account, I cannot reach anyone to find out where they are.
I received another order recently (doesn't show in my account either) and the box was mutilated and inside was a mess with a jar of Swat broken and pink goo all over the order inside. Super angry!

I placed an order and when it didn't come in after 2 weeks I called to cancelled the order. I was given a cancellation number. The order arrived 18 days later. I called for a prepaid label to return the package. The representative told me it could take up to 14 days to receive the label in my email. I waited 14 days and called and when I received the label it wasn't prepaid. I was going to be charged $17 to send the package back by UPS. I called again and was sent the same label. I called again today and asked to speak to a member of management and am now on hold, as of right now it has been 43 minutes. I will never buy from this company again. If I could give no stars I would.

I ordered fly spray and masks to prepare for summer and fly season on May 29,2020.
Order shipped on 6/17/20. Order received on 6/25/20. Package missing 2 fly sprays of the 3 that were ordered. The one in the box had leaked about ¼ of it's contents. I called and spoke to "Anna Mae" on 6/25/20 and told her about missing items and she said I would receive 3 sprays in a week. There is no sign of the items or any info in my account. I have called and emailed customer service several times and am either on hold or get a "canned" email message that they are so busy, but will contact me shortly. I have been on hold this morning for over 30 minutes while I write this message. I have taken this up with PayPal... thank goodness I used them to pay for this order. I will never use this company again in the future.

Restocking fee of a boot made too small at the top for an adult is frankly "bad form." Both pair of my old boots do not have this problem. If it is a manufacturer issue, then let the manufacturer pay the restocking fee of 10%... to have someone walk over and put it back on the shelf. Oh, yes, and re-enter it back into the computer. First and last order from Stateline Tack.

Not just during Covid times, SLT tells customers that items are "in stock" when they are not. They operate a little like Amazon insofar as they don't have a lot of things in their warehouses but request them once they receive an order. I went online and saw that a fly sheet I wanted was out of stock. I put myself on the wait list for it, then was told it was back in stock in an email. I called, confirmed it was in stock, then ordered it (along with a few other items) via phone. Then I had several emails that the whole order would ship on X date (which continually got revised). Then several more emails with various items I'd ordered suddenly being unavailable, and finally, when my order shipped, the main item ( the fly sheet) was not included and no date given for its availability. As I say, this has happened before and I will NEVER order from them again.

I have been trying to return an item for over 3 weeks. The customer service phone has kept me on hold between 10 and 20 minutes each time I called. Never did a representative answer. I have sent repeated pm, s. They say they are looking into return instructions. Not acceptable! I will never use this company again.
