I wish there were stronger consequences for companies that treat customers this way. This business is effectively stealing—refusing to issue refunds while keeping returned products. After months of emails and phone calls to customer service, I'm still out more than $100 and countless hours of my time. There seems to be no way to recover the money or the product they've taken. A company that operates like this should not be allowed to remain in business.
Stateline has deteriorated into almost a scam. The website is inaccurate with sizing and shipping times. My 2 orders took 5 days to ship and another 10 days to arrive, costing me $17 dollars for each shipment. Do not do business with Stateline. I had to return one item due to misinformation on the website, costing me another $9 dollars in shipping. I doubt I will ever see the refund. A $35 dollar item cost me $26 dollars in shipping. Total theft
I was on a 3-month auto ship with SLT but they shipped every month and a half while tapping my bank account at the same time. I cancelled the last order a week before it was supposed to ship, emailed them and left two voicemails with them confirming I did not want the order (I was already two orders ahead by then). They totally ignored my communications and still shipped it so they could tap my bank account again. I had to shut down the card account they were fraudulently tapping in order to stop the bleeding. Don't do business with these crooks.
I ordered 4 doses of equine vaccine and paid over 40 dollars to expedite delivery as we are in the middle of a west Nile epidemic. Stateline delivered the vaccines 3 days late, hot and when I contacted them, they initially refused to refund my shipping but did eventually. They promised to reship the next Monday for Tuesday Delivery. Instead, they shipped one dose (not the original four) and the dose arrived hot and late as well. Additionally, they charged me another 30 dollars and tax for the privilege. I contacted them immediately and they refused to refund my money and refused to reship my vaccines so now I am 2 weeks behind on receiving vaccines. They would not give me a reason for making good on my order and instead when I complained about the customer service the CSR started talking over me, yelling and hung up on me. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS!
Never had such an absolute Hard Time placing an Online Order with anybody as I had with Stateline Tack! They take your Payment and then Hold up shipping your Order by Falsely Claiming there was an ERROR with processing the Order, So then say that YOU have to Call Them or they will cancel the Order. They refused to ship my Order just because my Billing Address was different from my Shipping Address! Now how many people have actually done online Orders where you see during Checkout where you can check the box, My Shipping Address is different than my Billing Address? Thats right, just about every Online Company there is, and it is not a problem. But at Stateline Tack it is, They just Outright Lie and Falsely Claim there was an Error in Processing your Order. No, the Error was in Ever Placing an Online Order in the First Place, thereafter you just keep getting Smug and Pompous Arrogant Commentary from their Customer Service People who never take responsibility for their Actions nor acknowledging that They Lied about there being an ERROR
I want to purchase several items. My transaction was approved by my credit card company but StateLineTack decided it was a fraudulent purchase. I called them and explained my credit card company didn't think it was fraudulent and I can verify my identity. But they decided that they didn't want my business, so I purchased from horse.com without any issues.
I always receive my orders very quickly and the price point is also very reasonable. I also recommended it to my friends and their orders came in swiftly.
I purchased 2 Tough 1 horse coats a few years ago from State Line. I couldn't find my receipt for the purchase nor could I find in my order history. They located my order, had me send photo's of the damaged loop and checked with the manufacture to see if under warranty. A week later a brand new coat was shipped to my home. They went beyond 5 stars. I have been ordering from them for many years and never had a problem.
I have ordered from this company in the past and had no complaints. This time I needed horse boots in a hurry and they offered one day shipping for $51.99. I went ahead and set up the order on January 13,2024. Complaint number 1: when I placed the order there was a $59 discount applied on an order of over $300--great, that offset the high shipping charge EXCEPT when the order was confirmed the discount mysteriously disappeared. Complaint number 2: when my order had not even been processed by January 18, I called to see what the hold up was. I was told that it would take one to two WEEKS to process the order and then it would be shipped in one day. I cancelled the order, told the customer service gal, Rachel, I found this unacceptable and went to Amazon where I scored one of the boots used for half price. Poorest customer service and most misleading shipping information ever. This is the last time I order from them.
EDIT: The boots appeared today, January 19. Checking the order status on their website still says "In Process" and no tracking information available. The shipping invoice says they were shipped January 15. A little math shows that based on the next day delivery I paid for, the boots are 3 days late, but based on the disclaimer that can be found on their website, they are right on time. Something to keep in mind if you decide to order from them. Also, apparently the customer service rep I spoke to did not or could not track what had happened to my order beyond what was erroneously reported on my side.
I bought a blanket from them for my mini donkey. It took almost 2 weeks before they shipped. When I finally received it, the leg straps that keep the blanket from sliding sideways, were missing. I contacted them and they replied via email, showing the person's name & "DROP SHIPPER"! So I did some digging on "State Line Tack" and it's owned by a company that creates websites. This is not a real company!
After numerous back & forth emails, I was finally told "We currently do not offer another leg strap that would work with that blanket. We did check with the manufacturer and they do not have stock on them."I call BS on that! I've never had a company not honor missing parts and immediately ship them out.
What really disturbs me is that I wrote a review (on state line tack website) and it never showed up. This leads me to believe they suppress a good number of negative reviews.
My suggestion is stay far away from these people!
It takes days for them to even get your package shipped out. And their website pictures are horrible. I only shop here when it's cheap and I can find pictures of what I'm buying on another website. Unfortunately sometimes they have the best price but shop anywhere else and you'll have your stuff before they could even get it in a box.
Another dissatisfied customer. My returned order has been in thier possession (or the manufacturer's) for 2 weeks. $1600 order that I don't have product, or money for. I'm not sure anybody knows what they are doing over there. With all the tech and data management systems available these days there is no excuse for the disorganization and lack of information. I'd rather pay more at a place that cares enough about thier company and customers to invest in better resources for thier customer service department.
I'm also pretty sure the dollar amounts in my invoice were changed after checkout on PayPal. Until the dust settles on (hopefully) getting my money refunded, I'll know precisely how much I was overcharged. Lesson learned, always check online reviews.
If what they are doing is somehow not illegal, it surely is extremely unethical. Never again...
Update: I did finally recieve a refund, minus the 10% restocking fee. Upon further investigation, I was initially overcharged $28 dollars for this item when comparing my order receipt to my PayPal charges. In fact this is the case for many items, over the course of 4 orders I placed. I suspect that I paid about $200 more for items over the last month. It wasn't quite enough for me to initially notice. I'm guessing this has to be illegal. How can they charge a person's PayPal more after the fact. Steer very clear of this company unless you like getting ripped of and jerked around when you need help with an order.
NEVER-NEVER AGAIN! The customer service was HORRIBLE! The return policy is the worst I've ever dealt with AND they are a "3rd" party dealer! You can find everything you're looking for on different sites CHEAPER and with much faster shipping too!
I have tried to return an item since May which I questioned the moment I received it. I questioned if it was for a All purpose saddle or a Dressage saddle and they never responded. They misrepresented the item, I tried to see if the cheap shims would work and when I tried to remove them some fuzz stayed on. I guess I am eating $236 dollars. Will never buy from them again.
My order was supposed to take three business days. It's now been almost two weeks. When I called today my order has magically been sent. They were great in the past. Not sure what happened but I am waiting for training tools for a mare who is sitting for over a week now.
5 days after purchase and they realize they don't carry it anymore. Could of had it by now if I ordered somewhere else.
Beware of Stateline Tack - They're blowing up their prices, claiming "sale" and the "sale price" is still 2 - 3X higher than what other companies are charging. They're also lying about what the "list price" is on items, inflating them to preposterous amounts.
I tried to communicate with them about it thru a virtual chat and they basically told me to go to hell, stating "Every company sets their own prices." before abruptly ending the chat.
It's important to price check so you don't get ripped off, and I also think it's important to let companies like Stateline Tack know that what they're doing is outrageous.
Here are three examples of price differences I collected today:
Starbar EZ fly trap: Chewy: $11.49 / Stateline: $23.39
Starbar FlyRelief Disposable Fly Trap: Chewy: $4.99 / Stateline: $11.99
Starbar Fly Stick Jr: Blaine's Farm & Fleet: $3.99 / Stateline: $13.99
Best to all. - LM
We returned a defective saddle months ago and they will not fund the cost. We have called them many times and the same answer they are working on it.
From the moment I started shopping on the site, all the way to the delivery of my package, was a most excellent experience. I will definitely be shopping here again for future equestrian needs. I purchased a few hoof knives this time.
Answer: Almost impossible. Every time I have called I have been on hold a minimum of 20 minutes.
Answer: They collect money--- but good luck getting product. Months latter I still don't have the 2 biggest things on order. They took 300.00 order--- removed money from visa- then said nothing was on stock
Answer: Make claim against them with credit card company. They are not reputable!
Answer: I paid $168.++, w/ shipping for a pair of@nd Amendment Roper square toed boots... If you can find a better price, I would be amazed [$230.00 is the First price I saw, no one else came close to State Line Tack]
