DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! I booked something through them because I was looking for something quickly, but there were no places left that allowed pets. So when I submitted my booking request, I left a note for the landlord saying I had a cat, but if there was a problem, to reject my booking. They accepted my booking and my account was charged. So I emailed them later, making sure they had seen my message. They had not read it and proceeded to tell me that my cat was not allowed and to cancel the booking. I informed spotahome of this occurrence and they said they'd check with the landlord and get back to me. So I proceeded to find a new apartment because, as I said, I needed to find something quickly. I found said apartment and paid the deposit because the landlord had told me the booking was cancelled. Then, the next day they come back and say that they would make a special exception if I paid double the deposit. ANOTHER 784 EUROS. At this point I had already found my new apartment because they said they wouldn't accept me, so I told them no. Also, this was a 3-month booking, no way I was paying 2 month's deposit. I told them it wouldn't be possible for me and so they came back and said I could pay half the second month's deposit. Again, no. THEN, they even said "ok, well in that case you don't need to pay another deposit". 2 days AFTER I had already found another apartment because they told me no. THEN SPOTAHOME tells me that because the landlord offered a solution, I did not qualify for a refund FOR THE 784 EURO DEPOSIT I MADE. ARE YOU JOKING. THIS COMPANY IS CORRUPT AND ONLY CARES ABOUT THE LANDLORDS. I REPEAT, DO NOT USE SPOTAHOME OR INNOVAFLATS!
The website booking process is unclear - I accidentally made a booking when I thought I was just going to the next step. I immediately notified Spotahome. It was on a Sunday so I could not reach anyone on the phone. I got an initial stock response saying that under the cancellation policy I could not get a refund. I emailed them on Monday with full details of how the error happened, including the fact that the booking was partially in the past. After some consideration of the circumstances they agreed to a full refund. So full marks for service - 4 stars because their website dialogue could do with some improvement and a cooling off period with free cancellation - even for 3 or 4 hours - to make the booking process less stressful.
Spotahome has not paid me for a tenant that has stayed at my room for eleven nights. Despite my complaints to their customer representative Sergio and their official website, I have not been paid. They are a scam.
I have set up an alert for an apartment that is available for a period from September 1,2021 for 12 months. I received an email with references to some apartments that matched my criterions with starting dates of their availability that did not mention a year but just a month and day. I really liked one of those apartments and quickly booked it. When I received a confirmation, I noticed that the dates are a year ahead from September 2022 rather than 2021. I immediately wrote about this error to the client service team and to the landlord. The landlord replied that her apartment is indeed only available in a year time. I have not got any reply at all from the client service team. As I need an apartment this year I cancelled my booking with an intention to use the service for another apartment but received a cancellation invoice for 375 EUR. This experience is disappointing. Why to send an alert on wrong dates, totally ignore my request regarding wrong dates and charge the fee on the booking cancellation? Will not use thus service again.
TOTAL SCAM of a service. Please do not be as stupid as I was and use Spotahome.
It seemed good on paper, especially for someone in a desperate situation, like I was. But unfortunate something that seem's too good to be true is usually isn't' real. As was the case with the apartment I booked through Spotahome.
They completely lied about the property and what the living situation would be in general - not to mention the pictures they featured looked NOTHING like the actual apartment.
This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had to deal with as a consumer. Seriously, the list of grievances and complaints are too long to list here. Total nightmare from begging to end.
Customer support (if you could call it that) was horrendous - as was their 'Polices'. I originally booked but because the place was completely inhabitable, I changed that to just the one month (I paid for upfront). They "allowed" me to make this change, but said they weren't able to adjust their commission accordingly. So they took their money based on a 6 month stay instead of 1 month - a huge difference. Also, I wasn't able to to file a formal compliant until I moved into the property but there was a time limit for that too - which they didn't tell me about. So when I finally was able to do so, after a stressful few weeks of trying to find another accommodation because I found myself homeless because of Spotahome, they said I was too late and was unable to submit any complaints.
Their ridiculous policies (which are in fine print) are designed for only them to benefit from - with the sole purpose of ripping you off.
Do NOT use this company. Not sure how they can even legally be called that.

Ich habe das Zimmer bei ihnen gebucht. Zuerst war eine Reservierung, erst nach der Bestätigung des Vermieters wird das Geld von Ihrem Konto abgebucht.
Nach der Email, die ich von Spotathome erhalten habe, dass der Vermieter meine Anfrage zurzeit nicht bearbeiten kann. Ich habe mir gedacht, ok ich will keine Zeit verschwinden, bei dem Warten auf eine Antwort von dem Vermieter. Ich habe geschrieben, dass ich meine Reservierung stornieren will. Sie haben mir bei Online Chat geschrieben, dass die Reservierung schon storniert ist. Ich habe mir perfekt gedacht, alles abgeschlossen ist und ich kriege noch die Bestätigung darüber. Naja, eine Stunde später bekomme ich Email mit der Bestätigung von dem Vermieter. Ab diesem Moment wurde mein Geld von meinem Konto abgebucht und auf dem Konto von Spotahome gelandet ist.
Spotahome is an amazing place to look for flats! The staff is just beyond helpful and I am thankful to the team for helping me find an amazing place to live in!
