Disapointed
October 27, 2017

Was proactive this year and ordered my kids costumes the first week of October. 70 bucks for cheap Chinese plastic garb that will be worn for a few hours, but hey... the kids love it. Started getting concerned around the the 20th when nothing showed up. Looked at the tracking info and nothing. Called IMEX (Spirits courier) and they informed me they have yet to receive the shipment from Spirits warehouse. Spirits website has no email contact channel (Their option is snail mail?), live chat was disabled and the contact phone number was buried deep. Called and sat in hold for 30 minutes. This sucked as I was calling from Canada and no toll free option existed. Some lady answered who sounded tired and beat down. She tells me the package is with IMEX in which I explained I already spoke with them and they told me different. Her story changes again to indicate the package is with Canada Post in which I explain how can it reach Canada Post without first entering IMEXs logistics network. She puts me on hold, comes back and starts talking in circles about who actually has the package. I was trying to be patient but finally get pissed and demand a refund. She puts me on hold again, comes back and says she cant as the package is already in transit. I will have to ship the package back to Spirit at my expense then a refund will be issued. Holy *uck. What a joke. Maybe the costumes will fit the kids in 2018, if they ever arrive. Luckily we kept last years and they fit, although a little snug. Kids were disappointed but luckily we had a plan B. No more Spirit BS. At least Amazon sellers work hard to maintain their ratings and will do everything to ensure their product reaches you on time.

I placed an order on October 6. I received a partial order two weeks later. When I inquired about the remaining item in my order I was told more than one time (after 1 online chat, 1 email, and 3 phone calls that it was in process, and to not worry... there is still time. On October 19 I received one email stating my shipping charge was credited for the inconvenience and a second email stating my order had been upgraded to expedited shipping and would be delivered no later than October 25th. I did not receive the package on the 25th. I checked online... my order was no longer visible, so I called again on October 26 and spoke with a customer service rep who finally told me the reason I had not received my order was because it was out of stock and it was never going to be shipped out. It is now 5 days before Halloween... I have all the accessories for my costume... but no costume. I will never purchase anything from Spirit Halloween online again.

I ordered my son's costume Oct 12th and 11 phone calls, 112 minutes of my time wasted (not including emails, facebook messenger, live chat) rude customer service reps, being hung up on, not being able to speak to a manager, not able to get a refund, them shipping my son's costume to California instead of Michigan and we still don't have a costume. They did take my money with no issues. I have filed a dispute with paypal in hopes to atleast get my money back. Still have a heartbroken 3 year old at home :( I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau as well and by the looks of all of these horrible reviews, I hope others do to!

If there was an option to give zero stars, I would do it. I wish I had read these online reviews before I ordered a costume for my daughter online from Spirit. I ordered 10 days ago and while my order says it has "shipped" the shipping status still shows that it is in process with no movement and no expected delivery date. I have called the customer service line 4 times. Wait times are very long so they give you an option to receive a call back which I did. I received a call back, but the customer service rep was obviously confused by what was going on so she put me on hold FOREVER. When she did come back on the line, she disconnected me without a word. I waited a few minutes to see if someone would call back, but no call so I called customer service again. That was an hour ago and still no call back. I tried calling their local store to see if they have the costume there, but the phone just rang and rang. This company is a joke!

I had placed an order online and had never received my package, when I called the customer service number to find a solution, not only was the ascoiate unhelpful, but they were rude aswell. The first once refusedan to connect me to a supervisor and they have not even tried to find a solution I asked if they could ship out a new one and they said no I asked for a refund and they said no. They are very unhelpful and should really be retrained.

I ordered last week on 10-17-17. My order as of Saturday was still showing in progress. I talked to an online representative who assured me he was checking with the warehouse and they would email me when they had answers. Today is Tuesday the 24th, and nothing. Now when I put in my order # on their website my order does not come up at all. The money has already been removed from my account, and I have no idea if my costume is coming or not.

When I went to spirit they had horrible service and I wanted to return something and I could not be cause of the stupid return policy before Halloween. NEVER GO TO SPIRIT also the prices are WAY to high.

I Bought 4.5 Ft Sitting Scarecrow Animatronics - Decoration item last October. It was great and worked perfectly. I stored it in a bedroom closet for the season and when I took it out this year the voice box no longer worked. For $150 I would expect 1 extra season out of it. I called the store and he said "sorry, if i had a part I'd send it but nothing else we can do" I told him they should replace it and he said "nope, we don't do that". I let him know I will not shop at the store and give the item a bad review and he said "oh well". I can't believe how poor the customer service and recommend you go elsewhere for your Halloween items. Additionally, if you spend $150 on this know you very likely will not get years of use from it.

Back the first week of October, they had a Halloween display up but nothing at all from this display was actually in stock. Nothing! None of the staff seemed to have a clue. I asked if I could buy the clown that was I display since no-one were in store so told Oct 20 they would sell it and they had a waiting list which I filled out and was first on the list they said they would call on the 20th and I'd feet a discount since it was a display piece. I called them today the 20th and they say we sold the clown a few days ask. Wtf! I said why have a waiting list if you're not even going to use it? They were so rude the manager is a joke completely unprofessional, rude, disrespectful and a liar. Do not waste your time at this location.

Horrible

I ordered literally almost 2 months ago and nobody not even a tracking number yet on my daughters costume and they told me the other day it should definitely have shipped. Well the guest services said it hasn't. I'm so pissed off and I hate complaining but this is the worst service ever. I wasn't even going to get that on time and I'm pretty sure they weren't going to tell me! One mad momma.

This was one of the worst online ordering experiences ever. I ordered a $70 costume for my daughter called "the autumn fairy". When I purchased the costume it said it came with 3 peices (the dress, headband and the wings). I received it minus the wings. When I called they told me it doesn't come with the wings and low & behold it said the same thing on the website now. Why the $#*! would I order a "fairy" costume for $70 without the wings. Who even advertises a $#*!ing fairy costume without the wings. Instead of sending me the wings or replacing my money with the shipping cost included now I have to drive 80 miles out to return this stupid $#*!ing costume and go search for a new costume for my daughter. This is extremely dissapointing and disgusting business ethic. When someone spends money at an establishment and gets rubbed the wrong way it does bad for business. Highly disgusted with this costume store. Overpriced and definitely don't get your money's worth. I definitely won't be doing business here ever again.

My son has medical condition that requires medical supplies to be with us at all times. To carry everything i have a backpack for this. When we walked into the store there was a man at the door who said we have to leave the backpack by the door. I said that wasn't possible because of my sons medical condition. He got his manager they said to put the backpack by the door. I offered to show them the medical supplies they didn't want to see them and said it goes by the door or out to the car. My son and husband ended up in the car while i got the costume. Normally I'd walk out but my son had his heart set on a specific costume we couldn't find anywhere else. And to add insult to injury they were taking donations for children's hospital, and there not friendly to children with medical conditions. Long story short would not recommend or be going here next year.

Ordered on the 2nd. Contacted Spirit on the 6th and told them the address they had was wrong, after investigating why my order had not shipped out yet. They told me that they would change the address, and that it hadn't been shipped out. On the 10th after still not receiving a tracking number I contacted Spirit again and asked to cancel my order. I was told my order was canceled. 10 minutes later, I received and email telling me that my order was shipped out on the 4th, in transit by fedex to the wrong address, and then I see that my paypal was charged for the amount and only a 10$ item was canceled. I was told to "return my items" by spirit customer service. How am I supposed to do that when it was sent to the wrong address? If I was made aware on the 6th that my package was already in transit by Fedex I could have contacted them and requested an address change, which is what the company should have done, but now it is too late. I asked for my money back, they told me to call the post office. They said they WON'T give me my money back! RIDICULOUS.

Never Again

Placed an order 9 days ago and it is still "processing." I spoke to 3 different sales reps and a supervisor. No one could tell me anything about my item. When I finally cancelled and said I'd get the costume at a Disney store, the supervisor offered zero apologies. He actually said, "The Disney costume is very nice. I've seen it. I hope you will be happy with it." Seriously?!?!?

People and buyers beware! This store employs racists and psychos that belong on the streets and far away from any form of customer service. Their products are always late, they profile people based on ethnic background, and furthermore when the product arrives all I see are pieces missing within their product.

We have had a horrible experience this year. I ordered in plenty of time and spent over 300.00 dollars. The customer service in the store was horrible and not to mention online customer service was just as bad. I couldnt use any of the coupons and one of my costumes was lost and is now out of stock. I am very disappointed.

I bought an animated zombie online. When I received it, one of the arms was broken. I called customer service to see about an exchange. I was on hold forever and transferred around. Finally Dr. Zombie took my call. I told him I wanted to exchange the item because it was defective. I asked how I could do that without paying to ship it back and paying to ship another. He told me to return it to my local store. I told him the receipt said you could not return items to stores. He put me on hold and then told me the manager at my local store would have one for me. When we tried to return it they wanted us to pay $30 because there was a difference in price. We said we weren't going to pay any more for the item, we would just return it. When we found out it would be $28 to ship it back, we went back to the store and told them we would just return it there and pay the additional $30. They told us they had one in stock, but couldn't locate it. They said they would call us back. We never heard from them. Then we we tried to return it by mail, we were told they didn't take returns that weren't received within 13 days of our receipt of the item. I couldn't believe the ineptness of these people. We wasted a lot of time and still don't have a fully working item.

Wow. Horrible.

Spirit Halloween is big when it comes to customer satisfaction. Especially greeting and thanking people for going in.
Went to visit the Spirit Halloween location in Williamsburg and I wasnt greeted by anyone. I even said hello to one of the employees and she just looked at me, rolled her eyes and walked to an aisle. Also tried saying hi to the guy that was behind the register but no response from him, either. Not once did I hear a Welcome to Spirit Halloween while I was in there. A handful of people had walked in and out. These employees need better training or attitudes. It makes people feel like they are a bother or their business isnt important! One other man shopping with his kids mentioned how he ended assistance and wasnt able to get it. My friends and I wont be coming back!

Music too loud in store!

At first I was excited that a Spirit Halloween store opened near me-until I went into the store. They had the music playing so loud I felt like leaving. I said that I found the music too loud, and I was told that it was the store policy to have it that loud, but they would turn it down for me this time. Which I appreciated. But they said that if the owners walked in, they would get in trouble and be told to turn the music up again! I mean, they were playing it so loud that the only way to talk was to shout at the employees and the employees had to shout at me to be heard. Is that what the owners want? Do I really have to shout at the employees to be heard? What if I was looking for a specific costume? How can you carry on a conversation with an employee when they are playing the overhead music throughout the store so loud that we can't hear each other? And their special robotics, what is the point of having a haunted tree talk to you if you can't hear it? That's how loud the music was, I couldn't hear their talking zombies...

I left my name and number with them to give to the management so I could talk to them about this, but no one ever called me back. I was assured by the employees that they would give my name and number to the management once they came in and they would call me for sure, but I never heard from them... which makes me feel that they don't care about my business and I'm not welcome in their store. I'm certainly not going to go to them for my Halloween needs if this is how they treat customers. They have a lot to learn about good customer service. They are not being all inclusive and fitting in all types of customers. By saying that it is their store policy to play the music throughout the store so extremely loud they are only catering to the younger crowd who likes loud music and doesn't want to talk to employees. And by the management not calling me back, discourages me even further from ever going to that store, and sends the message that I am not wanted as a customer.
I'd give it zero stars if I could!

Unpleasant experience

Unpleasant experience. Walked in the door and an associate with a long beard won't let me into the store because I had a 9 lb puppy in a zipped up bag with me. It was so ridiculous that even the customers walking in asked me if that's the reason why I was walking out and thought it was asinine. I was ready to spend at least over $200 in two to three adult customs
But they preferred to make feel like a fool and leave the store. By the way, there is no sign anywhere where it says dogs not allowed.
