How do you remain in business knowingly you sell diseased fish with Keith HORRIBLY bullying potential customers? Seriously, the worst customer service I've ever endured. I can only assume I was refused and my at account thus being closed, only because I asked too many questions and my mother had some problems remitting payment at her first attempt to this "business". Keith became completely belligerent. Thank gawd too. He saved me from doing business with this shady "business" and possibly killing my current stock in my main tank. And yes, I DID turn this company into the BBB as well as warn others here! I am beyond livid!
I order 4 discus AND 5 ANGELS. I HAD THEM DELIVERED SECOND DAY BECAUSE I HAVE GOTTEN SEVERAL FISH THAT WAY AND THEY WERE FINE. I KNEW AS SOON AS I OPENED THE CONTAINEER THAT FISH WERE DEAD! DISCUS WERE DEAD AND ALL THE BAGS HAD LOST ALMOST ALL THE WATER. I FEEL TRHATIT WAS BAD PACKAGING AND I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THERE AGAIN
I have purchased fish from them before and was ok with the experience. Then I put in an order for 4 discus and a dozen cardinals and paid extra for Saturday delivery. Because the cardinals were not in stock immediately, they decided not to ship the 4 discus they had in stock at all and instead decided they'd wait. This was not the intention at all and when I wrote to them (because they don't offer a phone # to call) to let them know that I paid for the extra shipping so I would get them on that Saturday, they insisted that it was my fault for not understanding how their ordering worked. I acknowledged that the cardinals could be delivered at a later date, but that I wanted the 4 discus and was happy to have paid the extra shipping. Even though I was throwing them a bone, they continued to insist that the misunderstanding was 100% my fault. The fact that they had the 4 fish in stock I wanted and paid extra for didn't ship, was my problem and not there's. When I commented that they could have called me or worked with me in some way to sort out any questions about shipping, they continued to insist everything was my fault. When I said that their attitude was really putting me off doing business with them, they then not so subtly told me they'd be happy to see me go as a customer!
Bear in mind, I was happy to pay extra for shipping. I would have gladly spoke to them and worked with them, if they'd either make or accept phone calls. When they refused to do any of this they said they'd charge me 20% if I canceled the order because it was all my fault that there was a misunderstanding.
They are terrible. It's almost comical how bad their service is. I would recommend to anyone to go to their local, private owned pet shop and see what you can work out with them for special orders of fish like discus, hard-to-find tetras, etc.

Ordered 8 discus fish on 19th June 2017 for 220 $. Today 21st June 17, reached home all dead. Such great packing!. There is no contact # in the site, nobody online anytime. I've given message and waiting!

Sent 6 Discus 2 were stunted and all were sick. Charged me 65.00 shipping. Others charge 15.00. I would never order from these guys again. They get a 0
I bought two Siam discus from these people a year ago, the fish came in heathy are are still doing well. This is the problem on the site it reads that the fish will get their full color at 5 or 6 inches, well mine are at least that and are still brown. I was new at keeping discus. I now have more experience and I now know I was deceived. Don't trust this company there are to many good honest discus breeders out here. Buy from someone who cares.
My fish arrived very timely and I was quite happy, my fish didn't eat right away but I waited and watched them. I never witnessed them eating and I tried all different fish food. One by one they started dying, I only have 1 left out of 8 and this is all within a week.
After I purchased I was curious and looking for reviews them I was shocked and I don't know what to do.
After on time arrive package I still praying for my fish that at least moving. As soon as I open the box I was surprised. There is a another foam box (not a foam card) but a little negative thought is still in my mind because of bad reviews. Them I open foam box I saw heading pack (not a insulation from wall) when I touched still hot and a brunch of newspapers to cover fish bag (fish bag was double bag with individual fish) not only double bag they put between blue colours plastic, I got no idea for that, but I was impressed. When I take out the fish they are look healthy and slightly bigger than what I expected.
I know their shipping is look expensive, but with this service I am happy to pay for it.
Also I live in Los Angeles(California). I don't see my fish (pleco) was stress out.
I barely write a reviews, but with my experience SOMETHINGSPHISHY is not fishy at all. I wish I could upload the photos.
Wait... I do send the email before I buy, asking for pairs fish, they reply nice and reasonable answer.
Overall I like to buy again with SOMETHINGSPHISHY
Ps: If I micro nick picking, I only want them to tight fish bag with rubber band, or may be they have some meaning for not to tight with rubber band, I don't know.
I order 10 discus and all dead in less then a week and i live like 30 miles away he is a fish killing person back the like 6 years ago i had no problems with him now like WTF is he doing
I ordered 6 angels, 1 llevo and two German blue rams. The pleco is great. One of the angels were dead, all 6 were in a very small bag, the remaining 5 all have fin damage. My biggest complaint is the rams are Bolivan and not German blue. I've had a couple German blues before and know how to identify them. After arrival, I emailed the company and informing of the mix up and they replied '100% German blues'. At that time I knew they weren't German blues but I wasn't sure what they were. After receiving the email response, I was able to identify them as Bolivian rams by going to the LFS. I replied to the email informing them of the identification, I them receive a response stating I'm wrong and ' YOU ARE NOW BANNED'. Really, who does that, horrible customer service. I too failed to read any review other than the website. Seems more share my experience than those that have good experiences.
I was so disappointed in this company and the man named Kevin that responded to my emails. I ordered 4 fish, 1 DOA and another died hours after arrival. I feel like it's not work spending all the money on shipping if the company is not willing to send replacement fish for free. The man KEVIN also told me that now that our business was done, I could look elsewhere and that my account was closed. How rude! I find it interesting that you can not write reviews for the company on their own website. RED FLAG RED FLAG! I should have researched more. That part was my fault. Don't ever buy from this company!

Not only is he terrible to deal with, he is killing fish.
I am not a new aquarist. But I am new to ordering fish online. And boy am I sorry. I ordered 4 discus and 5 rams. They arrived fairly quickly, but I too noticed low water and small bags. You get way bigger bags in LFS and they are in the bag an hour at max. Shipping I felt should have more water.
The sizes of the fish I ordered did not match the website. I received two discus that were smaller than ordered and one that was bigger. I was disappointed, but I didn't complain. However, one fish (Royal purple) had clamped fins and a smaller tail (evidence of fin/tail rot). The red dragon was breathing heavy and died within 24 hours. I emailed the owner on the status like his website says and he told me that it looked like they contracted a bacterial infection (during shipping)? The 5 rams were stressed and so tiny. I am scared they will be food in my tank.
I continued to update him with photos and he said my water was dirty and I was not acclimating. His tactic to get out of replacing or talking to me. I have them in QT and changing water daily.

He next response is to yell at you with Bold red lettering and says he will not respond to you anymore. Calls you irrational. My mistake for not reading any other reviews from that of his site. He hand picks those. He should at least be smart enough to pepper in some "not so good" reviews. No one has perfect reviews!
He has a lot of bad reviews from as far back as 2005! Wow - I really can't believe he is still in business. And almost al the reviews are the same as mine. Sick fish, sizes not matching website and him blocking you after he calls you unreasonable. He should be shut down. So your research and do not buy here. You will have to treat the entire shipment.
Bought 12 discus from them arrived on time next day as promised. Two of them were black all over the whole body and very skinny. I was concern emailed them right away, but no response back. About 6 days later 1 die and a few other were sick as well. I contacted them again but no response back at all. For those that are looking to buy discus. Do not buy from this company!
I had ordered Discus twice from Somethingsphishy, I received the fish both times. On the first I lost one fish within 24 hours but otherwise wasn't overly concerned. The second order I didn't receive the fish I had requested but different colors. I contacted the site and was informed to "go ahead and do the negative
Feedback."
When all I wanted to know is why they would send different fish this is the response, no thank you, I'll never do business with your company again.
Positives; they send discus and orders were processed within 24 hours.
Negatives; customer service, quality of fish provided and getting the order correct.
I ordered 6 Discus and 5 Angel fish. I paid for next day UPS delivery, when my fish arrived at 5:50 p. M I noticed that the box was wet, when we open the box we notice that the fish bags were very small, there was barely no water, and not enough oxygen, fish were stressed and the water was cloudy and dirty, also the Discus that they sent me were between 1 and 2 inches, two of the six discus are eating and having fun the other four are hiding hopefully they'll come out tomorrow which will be there third day, we have 15 beautiful health Discus between 3 and 5 inches. Also I wanted to share with you their policy, if your fish arrives dead you need to take a picture of your fish with a toothpick through them so they can give you credit the same day. I don't like their policy and will not buy fish from them again. Also when I got my 5 Angelfish two of them looked dead they were on their side my husband put them in a small container inside the fish tank and we went to bed in the morning they were up and swimming, right now all 5 angel fish are doing fine and they are also eating.
Ordered 6 discus and 2 died within a week and 2 more died 4 days later and 1 more died this morning. My tank's metrics were (and still are) perfect when the fish arrived and it had been cycling for 2+ months prior with only two cory catfish in the tank. Have done 40% water changes daily the first week and 40% every other day since. From the get go the discus were very sluggish and NEVER ate a thing (as far as I could see). Also ordered 5 rams and they are great and will eat like crazy. IF I HAD A CRAPPY NASTY $#*! TANK I COULD SEE THE FISH DYING BUT MY TANK IS PERFECT AND HAD THE WATER PARAMETERS DOUBLE CHECKED BY MY LOCAL PER STORE. Well... going forward I will ONLY buy local BUT I AM HAPPY THAT A FEW OF YOU GOT NICE FISH and fill your pain for all the other folks that had a bad experience.
I bought twice from them the first ones. Can and did good that is how the do it send good the first order. Then I order another time and several have a bacteria infection and it killed 600.00 worth of discus. So mad and upset should have listened to the reviews.
The seller sold me sick discus fish. I send him pics of them and he went on and on with excuses he never took responsibility.not a reliable seller. He will always blame the buyer for whatever problem with the order.
I ordered 4 discus and not only did they arrive healthy, but they sent me an extra! I don't know why there was an extra that I didn't order but he was there! I contacted them and they let me keep it for free!
Now I've had these discus for a little over 6 months and they are still happy and healthy so I don't see why people are blaming this company for something that they really didn't do... Somethingsphishy is based in Florida and if someone who's ALL THE WAY IN CALIFORNIA orders a discus from here, IT'S GONNA DIE! You don't realize that these are discus, an extremely sensitive fish. Transportation is going to stress them out and news flash: STRESS KILLS FISH!
So if your smart, order fish near you rather than get pissy over something that's not even their fault.
Besides blaming people is extremely childish and I do believe that everyone here is over 25 (except me who's 21 and more mature than most people). So be smart and do your research and don't blame others for your stupidity.

Answer: It really depends on their health to start with. In my experience if they were all the same health I'd try for a bigger one first since the smaller ones seem to get sick first or stress the most when their is a problem. Anything smaller than 2" is also tough since the other fish (even discus) will bully them and stress them out.
